My theory is extreme masochism or Stockholm syndrome, or perhaps they just like being shafted..
-
Well, we aren't firing on all cylinders, but Brum only managed a late winner tonight against you-know-who..
-
You're right, but there is some information there. You shouldn't have to dig though: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2598974,00.html

That's a shame. How about 20 this season and 20 next?

Football training for a couple of hours twice a week and occasional sallies from the bench, although we've just had our winter break (warm temperatures and good grounds) and now meant to be re-starting (snow-covered frozen pitches!).. Off in an hour to train on the all weather - it'll be down to -10, I reckon. I also ski 2/3 times a week and occasional snow-shoe sorties. I only went up for a couple of hours today, although managed a bit of off-piste, because it was sooo perishing cold. Lots of brisk walking around town, to various workplaces carrying books, and shopping. Not too bad for mid-50s, and touch wood/tocca ferro, I've been lucky with my knees.

Yeah, but a lot, lot longer than your summary!

Do what my team do, have me on the bench! I've been doing specialist goal-keeper training this year as reserve keeper but still come on as an outfielder occasionally as sub (big centre-forward type - well, I'm big for Italy!). I'd prefer to play outfield but it can be quite fun doing keeper training and throwing yourself around.

Depends... Sometimes the students come to me, sometimes it's a 14/18 minute walk to various classes I do (I could drive, but really..!). My longest trip is 20 minutes by car to a few hundred metres from here: http://www.regione.vda.it/turismo/new_webcamzoom.asp?img=fenis.jpg

HSB was also available in The Ark at Townhill Park where they had electric diapraghm pumps. I think I had 8 pints once or twice on my birthdays... I actually liked Gales light mild which was available in very few pubs including the village I ended up living in: tastier than the ordinary, I thought. Winter Warmer good, as noted, but you needed a pub with turnover. Shame about all the corporate blanding: Gales, Youngs etc. Thank goodness for the new microbreweries which make visits to the UK so interesting

Ch***t, have we slipped out of the play-off places?

Another thanks from me to to FirstRowSports and to the players on both sides. If it were snowing like that I wouldn't go skiing much as I like the fresh stuff, but to play football... we coped well and at times the possession and pasing was excellent. I hadn't missed Puncheon, but his performance was a revelation and he's making selection hard for NA. Morgan played well after after one or two awkward incidents, but then adapted to the conditions. He needs the movement of Lee and Sharp and a few more options wide. I'll let the full-backs off their awful crossing this time, as having trained on snow I know how difficult it is to cross in those conditions. To be honest satisfied with a point away against a form team: I was dreading a big boot and one of their big forwards doing a toe-poke.

Just to been chatting to a friend in Brum who has no interest in football but happened to put up on Facebook that picture of 'Arry in his new Spurs going away strip.. At the end of the chat I asked her "Guilty" or "not guilty". Guilty! ' she replied! As a treat I gave her a link to this thread and she gave a big chuckle when she saw how many pages there were... She's an internet veteran and knows just how informed experts on a particular subject can be, I'm sure she'll enjoy a dip into the archives and the many amusing, scurrilous and prescient posts there have been on here. The more people know about their behaviour, the better...

Oh gawd, I'm feeling all Alpine, we're going to lose 1-0.. Mind you, in the circumstances a loss for either team would be hard..
-
Unless it's changed since my time the electricity would be monthly billed.
-
Exactly! So I'm home in the warm lesson prepping instead and enjoying the Pompey Takeover thread!

Oh, come on Trousers, it's because the printer's credit contoller is doing their job, read the credit reports and has asked for money up front. You know that, I know that, but hey; conspiracy theories are fun...

Well, obviously he's lightweight.. he's Japanese. Forget the height and weight stats, everybody knows they're all short. Just like all Italians are shorter than me. Well actually, in my women's footie league there may be one or two my height, but these general rules sometimes work ;-)... But best to check your facts before posting. Anyway, I've been pushed off the ball by smaller players when I didn't get my weight right..

Oh, you *****! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

That's my view too, although the local "English" pub does some tasty unfiltered German lager and Weissen which I actually prefer to the imported British keg stuff. They once only had some unpasteurised stuff from a local micro-brewery and that was good. I've a few bottles of English stuff in the cellar (Pedigree etc.) bought on supermarket offer at Christmas but I don't seem to have got enough: possibly too many internet matchday streams to watch...

Ah, OK, but I'd still keep an eye on it! It's going to be freezing all week (-14 at times) and goodness what I'm going to look like tomorrow if I decide to go skiing - Michelin woman with all the layers!
-
Just been checking Serie A: games in doubt and they've changed the evening KOs to the afternoon. PAy TV not happy, sod 'em..
-
I presume they must have undersoil heating as _all_ non fully-pro fixtures have been called off here in NW Italy all the way down to the coast. Worth checking with a local, anyway. Not that much snow low down in ski resort terms (although the off-piste was gloriously light mid-week) but at -11 on the way to work this morning and getting colder at the week-end it's not going to shift. Ironic really as we've had great and mild weather since the New Year during our winter break!

Anybody know which company is involved? Mind you, even with a part-time credit controller just out school they should have enough nous not to give credit.. Locals: perhaps a few emails... I think NC can be left to cope on his own!
-
Glad I read to the end of the thread because I was just going to highlight that quote as I remembered what you'd said about their arrogance before. Perhaps one of the few things Cala said that was correct.

To be honest, I think if he did ask for a transfer we should give him more credit for intelligence. With your professional career ahead of you would you really want to struggle in that morass any longer than actually necessary? I'm going to credit him with a bit of insight and foresight!
