  1. because they are so bloody repetitive and/or one-sided in their views. There are things that could be improved/changed but I don't go onanonanonanonanonandon about them.. some do.
  2. I'll be interested to hear from those at the match. Did n'Guessan give us more width and help Lambert by allowing him to get into the more central positions he doesn't seem to have been in recently? People were complaining about HAmmond coming on too, but I guess Dany's legs were going.
  3. Yeah saint_jas, we heard you the first time. We agree [joke!]. Cmon Baz. Alpine is trying to staunch the cuts in his wrists as we speak..
  4. Whatever the situation I ssuspect most people here would still rather go without your interpretation - if only for its sheer inevitability.

  6. Don't worry Mack Rill: we don't class your in with Corpsie!
  7. Where is CorpHo these days???
  8. Not just me then! Although I didn't bother with this one... fingers crosed..
  9. There does seem to be a degree of lack of realism amongst some fans as to whom we might have bought. It's interesting to see that spurs, for example, went for numerous attackers and ended up with none. It's not like shopping in the supermarket or even at auction for that matter, where it's only money that counts. So we've got some of the pace and power everybody was asking for and we've kept AOC for now. Opposition full backs and slow centre halves are going to be slightly nervous as they'll get no rest for tiring muscles. Before we had no pace on the bench went AOC went off - now we do.
  10. Must admit that thought occurred to me as the substitutions were made. A result either way was what we wanted, even if we'd quite happily have accepted a 1-0 win!
  11. Weelll, it's after midnight here in Italy and don't tell my manager as we're playing er.. today and I've had a few, but that wasn't bad, was it? I had to explain to a few locals in the bar I persuaded to show the game that we were a 3rd division team, and they then had to work that out in an italian context, and were suitably impressed. Silly mistakes and it sat up so nicely for Owen at the end but so many positives that I'm not too upset. Hopefully there might even be a few extra against Carlisle to show their appreciation: it would be great to have 28k against them too. Go on, take along a mate and show the world we aren't plastics..
  12. The amount I drink when I get stressed watching Saints on TV I really do not want to get there early.. Best I can do for now: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jan/28/squad-sheets-southampton-manchester-united
  13. Well, I reckon there'll be more P2P watchers..
  14. Vectis is probably right, you know. The important word there is "reader"...
  15. http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=102830&part=sports I'm down the bar and hope they don't want Italian footie on both screens...
  16. Possibly. I still reckon 30k against Exeter last season was impressive and more important.
  17. Sky 3 in Italy. Only problem is the Lazio game is on at the same time so I'll have to go to a bar with 2 screens. I'll have a back up P2p session running at home...
  18. Would they pay out for a (cough, cough) training injury....
  19. Had a quick look online at the Brum-WHU game tonight. One or two who might DAJFU but boy, is the football crap. Neither side can pass the ball.
  20. Well, you've obviously been asleep, or drunk...
  21. Did anyone see this coming? Not even Chez! So perhaps we have offered for some of the players glibly mentioned on here, perhaps even offered a decent price and decent wages. Perhaps we've offered for even better players completely off our radar, even from other countries? Can't remember his exact name but we had an offer accepted for that Italian player Vanuuci? But as it is so tiresome to point out again, there is always more than one party involved in the process: the buying club, the selling club and the player (and his agent and his wife and his mother-in-law - if Italian..).
  22. Hah, ha - when did I mention that? You must be younger if you can remember.:-) When I moved here I went along to training because there were no subs to pay and, lets face it, it's more fun than going to a gym. I rely a lot on height and physique against your average Italian player; they're mostly pretty small over here (including the men!) and as I ski regularly I've got reasonable dynamic fitness. My ideal would be to play a half with a good warm-up at half time but the maximum I'd played had been about 15 minutes before I did those 90 on a heavy pitch - running into the channels, making space, closing defenders down. No wonder my ankles couldn't cope!
  23. Don't be nasty. Just because she's having to wear a men's fat bastard size replica shirt - and they always keep plenty of those in stock... Anyway, it's on Sky3 here in Italy. Not sure if I'll go to the sports bar in a replica shirt - it's not really my style, although I do use them for training. Better not, just in case we win and then I'd always have to wear the lucky shirt.;-)
  24. Aargh, ankles. I get tendonitis but that's hardly surprising at my age (over 50) and I still play. Normally I come off the bench but just before Christmas we were down to the bare 11 and I did 90 minutes: not good! My lungs were OK (I also ski n'stuff) but my ankles and calf muscles!! Currently we're in our winter break but I went for a run today: I warm up very gradually and use strapping and can still feel it a little bit. I'm going skiing tomorrow and Thursday but that's not bad as your ankle is held and supported. I use velcro and material strapping but 2 or 3 of the girls have their ankles properly strapped with surgical tape before games. We used to have a physio to do that until he was naughty with a junior, but at least people know how to do strapping for themselves now.
  25. Get a busman who's on holiday? Having a browse here has just reminded me of part of a dream I had last night. I was driving a coach but was sat on the wrong side and had to make a panic move across to the other side when I realised I didn't have any brake pedal. I was on the way to Wembley but was hopelessly lost and was thinking about dumping the coach and getting the tube... I blame Adkins and reading too many posts here!
