I'm not sure about "OK", I was thinking during the match how much he was struggling although he looked a little better in a few attacking moves in the second half. As for Williams, I didn't even notice him either way, so we saved ourselves a wasted loan fee there..

I haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere on the board but an interesting article in The Guardian today: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/feb/25/ralph-hasenhuttl-finds-space-to-instil-change-in-southamptons-youngsters

That's a commitment! I wonder what they get paid? Enough to help when you are a student I imagine, and they won't be paying match fees like most amateur footballers..

When I've seen the odd clip of their games they all look pretty fit and trim to me, so I wonder how often they train? Certainly some of their opponents have had players more like the build I see down in the lower reaches of the Hampshire leagues, where we have a nice mish mash of old and young, fit and unfit and slim and solid..;-)

Glad I saw this thread: no email notification for the game although plenty of other posts from the club. Just booked in my row although not my own seat.

Same around where I sit. I got home OK with some delays to the trains but it was all a bit twitchy and a packed train. The guy next to me normally gets the train in from the north but drove due to cancellations. I wouldn't have risked it for an evening match and on Friday against Norwich think I'll drive.
-
No you don't, and if you're that desperate I'll send you a PM.

Trains are running from Chichester to Southampton with a few changes and cancellations so getting to the game shouldn't be a problem, although I don't know what it's like further East. The wind will make the game interesting... My game tomorrow has 50+mph winds forecast so goal kicks will be fun, they don't go very far at the best of times!

Well, I've just been watching some live streaming of landings at Heathrow, runway 27L. I seem to have been saying "**** me" quite a few times. The A380 from Dubai was impressive (after 2 go-arounds). The Newcastle flight also had to as well. Maybe they'll drive! Quite a number of trees down in my area including an oak 200 yards away: that's my woodburner sorted for a few years..

I remember it as: "Don't eat the yellow snow, That is where the Huskies go".. Goodnight..

I was going by the BBC weather app, and can't be bothered to double check with other sources. Fair to say it's going to be windy..
-
It's more a question of whether there'll still be a roof on St Marys after the 94 mph winds on Friday.

Well, I haven't seen this argueing back and forth before! 😉 The argument against isn't as clear cut as some make out. When we had our 14K seated capacity at The Dell what would they have said should be the capacity of the new ground? I recall the plan for the Eastleigh/Stoneham ground was 25K, which I personally didn't think was enough. Having been unable to get into the ground along with thousands of others when it was standing I knew there was a degree of potential that was untapped, particularly given a bit of success, and the ability to get to the loo at half-time! I don't think waiting lists for season tickets is a particularly good indicator. Plenty of people don't want the commitment, but do want to attend sometimes when they are able, and can afford it. How many posters here went on their own when young, and _could_ afford it. I managed it regularly as a student at the university and I'm pretty certain my budget wouldn't allow for that these days. We need to reignite the flexibility and affordability that we benefited from. No doubt the subject will be part of the owner's strategic review, and may already have been dismissed, or shelved for a few years. I'm not going to worry too much about it, but I would like another European jaunt before I get too decrepit so I'll take more interest in the playing side for now.

Apparently in a VSTOL aircraft, at least it will be on Friday..

The Minsk Memorial Thread (and continuation of his work)
suewhistle replied to Minsk's topic in The Saints
****! Just back from the pub watching the game and this has really hit me. Thank you for letting us know, Minsk's daughter. -
Antonio Conte became so incensed by Southampton’s protests that he had to be restrained by his assistants Yep, in the pub I was swearing at him in Italian so as not to be thrown out! Deeply satisfying..
-
Whey hey! Just back from the pub in a PO area, after same number of beers as goals, and the last one was particularly sweet as it was bought by a Pompey fan and ex-Moneyfields player! We'd had a good chat generally about football and all in all a cracking evening. Fortunately the other clientele accepted my apologies for some occasional bad language!

This is worrying, when is the first Spurs breakaway goal?
-
You have only got yourself to blame, I thought you had more experience! 😉
-
Couldn't you just kick the cat in annoyance? With my teacher's hat on I'm now wondering about the origin of the phrase given the topicality..
-
I'm ok heading East on the Brighton train, but only just if it's an 8pm k.o. and significant injury time, and not if there is extra time..
-
The local pub does, I think and as there are a few Spurs supporters we should be able to see off any of the alternative games on the box. I was hoping for a dry mid-week but obviously not to be!

I wonder what Dorchester Saint thinks? 🙂

Must have done, I didn't notice him..
