  1. Long haul I will only ever take Singapore Airlines now, whether it's business or pleasure. Having done the London to Singapore trip many times by many different carriers and routes, SQ is by far the best. There are 3 flights daily out of LHR of which 2 are A380s which I would definitely recommend taking just for the experience and there is more seat/leg room than the 777s, and as for the service/scenery! Ok I might be a tad bias but I would recommend making a stopover and where better than Singapore lol. If you are going to travel all the way to Australia you might as well take the opportunity to take a short stopover.
  2. Yes my home is bolted on literally to the southern peninsular of Malaysia but 2 road causeways! Singapore is an island 24 miles east to west and 14 miles north to south, just over 2.5 times the size of Isle of Wight but with just under 5 million residents! Singapore is only 85 miles north of the equator which means we have 4 seasons which are hot, hot with a bit of rain, very hot and ridiculously hot! average day time temp is about 32 degrees and it dips to a chilly 25 degrees at night buts it's the humidity that kills everyone who visits here! I now permanently live here officially and is an amazing place to live!
  3. It's here! And no it's not part of China and no where near it!
  4. I have obviously heard of the above mentioned place but I'm not one for frequenting it. You really don't know what you could end up with!
  5. Been very hot and humid here all day and first day we haven't had any rain this week!

  10. As I mentioned in my last couple of postings, this was exactly what happened to Aldershot in 1990. And please, I don't need any smart alec forum admin to say the Aldershot guy, Spencer Trethewy/Day is now a multi millionaire 19 years later after spending time inside for fraud. Its sad and embarrassing that we duped this way, should never have happened.
  11. Agree, it's now becoming a little bit embarrassing what's going on. As I posted a few hours ago, this has my home town Aldershot, 1990, written all over it.
  12. Why do I keep thinking of Aldershot FC and Spencer Trethewy while reading about this news??
  13. 7am/7pm on the dot and as you say, just like turning a light switch on and off. It's been stupidly hot and humid here recently, The Strait Time even had the headline that Singapore is going through a heatwave!
  14. Make absolutely no difference here, Sun comes up and goes down same time everyday!
  15. White 1977 Mini 1275GT which was stupidly fast for what it was!
  16. I received, from one of the Wife's Auntie, red touch up paint for a 2007 Honda Civic. As pleased as I was to receive this gift, it's usefullness is limited as I don't own a Honda Civic nor is my car red!
  17. Tonight- Already been down local bar for an hour or so Sat- Getting a few mods done to my new car I picked up in the week! Having a BBQ by our pool in the evening Sun- Got various family members coming over to take advantage of the pool. It's a hard life!

  23. Those of you that have witness a Singapore "downpour" will probably agree that the race will most probably be stopped! It absolutely chucks it down here but normally only for 30 minutes! It's not the rainy season here at the moment and it rarely rains in the early evening anyway so i confidently predict it will be a dry race, unless it rains?! Admin: I emailed a few weeks ago requesting bank details so i can furnish you with 12.50 crisp Singapore dollars but had no reply? Thanks
  24. The lighting is actually quite low down, no higher than normal lamp posts so shadows shouldn't be an issue. Drove past the other night when the lights where on and I don't think the drivers will even realise that it's going to be night time as it was so well lit up. If it rains, now that will be a completely different issue as the rain droplets could reflect the light and cause a problem for the drivers!
  25. It's been pouring with rain here in Singapore since 6am this morning. My route into work takes me via Rocher Road which goes over the start/finish straight which is looking the business, especially with the backdrop of Singapore!
