Yes he was our best player until he left. Chelsea won the league 4 years ago. So yeah they were not that great back then.

Its not ambition. Its about being realistic. Positive is fine. Ambition is fine but we are league 1 right now. We can get some of the better players that would play in this league but to seriously suggest that players who Championship clubs would want, would consider going to a league lower is just plain idiotic. What has Jack Cork done? Apart from being our best player in the CHAMPIONSHIP last season until he left. Apart from being one of Watfords best players in the CHAMPIONSHIP last season until he left. Apart from Captaining Chelsea Reserves at the age of 16. Apart from quite clearly being considered as having a future at Chelsea, because he has not been sold off or released yet, but only given the opportunity to progress as a player by beging allowed to play first team football on loan last season. Yeah not alot. He's being kept at Chelsea until he requests to leave because they have a future for him there. Its upto him if he wants to progress his career quicker by leaving but be rest assured if he does decide to leave, any club from the 2nd half of the Premier League down would be interested. That includes the Championship. A league he would merk in, just like he did last season. That includes Reading, who are managed by his old coach at Chelsea. Football has come along way from the day Keegan signed for us. Moves like that will not happen again. Players go to league 1, are released from Prem Clubs because they are either too old and too **** to play in that league or the Championship, (Eg Jaidi) or have yet to prove they are capable of playing in a league above (For example...Not Jack Cork) I bet he would aswell. At no point have I debated that you daft *****. What I said was, EVERY CHAMPIONSHIP CLUB and the majority of Prem Clubs would also want him. I bet you any money he'd prefer to play for one of those clubs than one in League 1. Which he has proved is too good for him. It doesn't matter how much money we have, unless we are throwing City and probably Notts County like wages about, which we are obviously not going to do, we can't and won't be signing players ahead of clubs in the Championship. No doubt we can compete with the best teams in this league, and I'd fully expect us to look to sign players that are not wanted by clubs in the Championship. But some of you need to get real...Players will sign for Championship clubs ahead of us. Jack Cork will not be signing for us ahead of a Championship club. How anyone can seriously debate whether or not he would is beyond me.

I love how idiotic some people are on this forum. That there are serious suggestions that we go and buy Jack Cork. People actually believe that it is worth debating? He'll end up at Reading IMO but if he was up for sale I think every team in the Championship and most of the Premier League teams would be interested and be way ahead of us when it came down to him deciding where he wants to go. Get real ffs.
-
He didn't get a single decision because he had a drogba esq fit everytime he lost the ball. Funny as **** but never going to win a free kick. That said, I thought he played well. Worked his nuts off with Patterson and managed to hold the ball up fairly decently and won a few challenges in the air.

I guarentee you heard wrong.

Gorman is Asst Manager at QPR. Fact.

Blackpool fans like him. He did well for them, especially against us last season. His finest moment has to be sat in The Cork and Bottle pub, watching the league cup final between Chelsea and Spurs with Andrew Davies and there gf's. He started a rendition of "Theres only one Andrew Davies" which only me and him joined in with in the whole pub. Davies was loving it. Neither could keep a straight face when they tried explaining my theory that Jason Euell was horrific was wrong. Hammil ****ing himself with laughter when Davies tried claiming Euell was a good player. Top bloke. Fit missus and a decent enough winger. Bet he does well for Leeds.

No. Not at all. Just two different sources. One on another forum claimed that Jaidi had been sniffing around a few other clubs but everyone had worries about him play many games this year because his knee is about to baloon up. While another, a mate who does a bit of coaching for Southampton occasionaly, claims he had heard that he was here yesterday but he'd heard there had been problems with the medical. Could just be they were looking at the knee more in depth. I expect him to be announced as signed very shortly mind, and it is a cracking signing, although i'm weary after hearing these "rumours".
-
Trundle would not be a good signing for us. He is utter garbage. He had a few tricks at Swansea and got way over hyped because of Soccer AM. The fact he had a stinker at Leeds last season and has done nowt at Bristol either proves this.
-
Heard a rumour he may not have passed the medical. Problems with his knee.
-
He's so over rated its unbelievable. Not say he wouldn't be a bad signing but other than Swansea, years ago, he's been shocking. Even at Swansea he was over rated because Soccer AM highlighted some awesome tricks he did. Could be alright, but he won't be the player everyone thinks he will be. He certainly doesn't score alot of goals.
-
Yes thanks. I didn't say he was good. I don't think he's been as bad as people make out mind, but i'm just interested in hearing how exactly he is to blame for the goals today as he has been made out to be in this thread.
-
He's better than 3 of if not all 4 of those Strikers. Hence the reason he has been playing and scoring for Forest pre season. Was Lancashire at fault for the goals? Or was it a goal scored from a set peice so automatically the young lad at the back gets the blame?
-
Skinned John O'Shea against United when he came on. Made him look a right boob. He has that pace and ability to take a player on. His end product and consistency was up for debate. He's like Jermaine Pennant. He'll go from club to club, flattering to deceive, occasionally making full backs fall on their arse and be talked about as someone who could tear teams apart, and probably will do it in the odd game, in fact he could be considered a match winner in some big games and he can make fans get excited when he's on the ball but ultimately he won't do it consistently enough and will be moved on somewhere else. That's what wingers like Smith do. Look at Routledge, Pennant etc
-
He also spent most of last years Saturdays night in Oceana in Southampton. He has friends here but he will have no interest in playing for us.

Who was sitting next to Pardew at Farnborough game?
Hopkins replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Looks nothing like Sky Andrew either tbh. hth. -
Best not be bumpy. I stupidly put money on with my Brentford supporting housemate that we'd be ahead of them after 6 games. Pardew needs to get his act together and snap up Toure before City do.

I'm not knocking the girls who play it. Nor am I knocking young girls who love football and want to get into it. I admire girls playing it and would encourage it. However it is a shocking standard and I really see no good points for anyone to be a fan of it. I have no problems with it being played but I see no reason for anyone viewing it to enjoy it. Mens football is far superior and I see no point in anyone taking an interest in womens football especially at a high standard when mens football is the much better option. Its great that girls want to be involved in football, I have coached young girls who love football. However that would not make me watch it because i'd be bored ****less. There is nothing about it worth watching as a sport. The standard is of the quality of Sunday League football. And unless i'm personally involved in that, I find that pretty boring. Infact I'd go as far as saying I find most football upto the premiership pretty boring, if I have no attachment to certain teams. I like the passion, the desire to win, the storylines, the other things about the game not just the football itself. Some of the football I have watched with Saints has been shocking, but I love it because its Saints. I'll watch the Premiership because the quality of football is actually worth watching. Other than that football itself, without any attachment to something can be pretty gash. Womens football is at the bottom of that pile, because it combines both a shocking standard and a complete lack of interest from anyone but the people playing it. The saving grace of football from the Championship down is the passion from fans/players etc and the desire to win. Womens football lacks anything for anyone to be interested in. IMO.
-
I tried watching a womens cup final. Supposebly the bests that womens football has to offer. It involved Arsenal, who are apparently the best team in England? It was hideous. No it doesn't make it the same for people who watch non league football. I never said anything of the sort. No idea where that came from. Non league football is pretty guff. However its nothing compared to womens football which is the height of absurd. I'd much prefer to watch Non league football than womens football. Womens football is turd. You have to question why anyone would enjoy watching something so bad. If you watch it you are either a fool/sad/deluded or are trying to sleep with one of the girls that plays it. Which makes you deluded as they are all lesbians. I seriously don't see the point in watching it. Watch mens football. Even non league football. Or watch another sport that men compete in. Quite honestly women do not make as enjoyable sport viewing than men. The only womens sport i'd ever have interest in is Tennis and thats still pretty guff compared to the mens version.
-
Anybody that comes in here claiming its worth watching is deluded. If you watch womens football you are a very very sad person.

So You'd have 11 players not playing plus youngsters who could do a job not playing also? We're rich but we're not Man City. We're in League 1 FFS. Name me a squad in the Championship below that has 2 sets of 11 plus youngsters. Infact, i'd also go as far as saying 1/4 of the squads in the Prem will not be that well off. Thats the beauty of having players who can play in multiple positions. They are invaluble becasuse they mean you don't have to sign 2 players for every position.
-
Saw that mug Redknapp claim he'd signed Crouch several times the other day. No, once again you are talking ****e sir. You have signed him once. Berk.

Quite probably yes. Ronaldo goes for 80m. ZI is probably along with Torres the best striker in the world. If I was selling Zlaten, i'd want close to what Ronaldo went for because for Inter he's what Ronaldo was for Man United. So for half that and a top class stiker in return, its probably about right. Inter have done well, but Barca will reap the benefits aswell. I watched him in January against Calgiri in the San Siro, and his touch, posistional play and vision was incredible. I didn't rate him much before that game but after it his all around play made me realise what a player he was. His finishing that day was guff, but on his day he's the best striker in the world. Except maybe Torres. But his all round play is better than Torres. He'll fit straight into Barca's team aswell. He'll rip La Liga to pieces IMO. If he can turn up in the CL too, Barca will win it again.

He's exactly like JPS. A dominating centre half. Will occasinally get caught out probably attempting to win headers/tackles but will more often than do well and look the part. I doubt we will get JPS now Pardew is here and wanting his own men so i'll be happy enough with Jaidi. A beast!
