Saw Jacob Mellis last night and he was on about staying for the season so i'm hoping we sort his loan deal out in January.

In the words of ole' Blue Eyes..."And now, the end is near..."

Don't want them to go pop/bust or anything but I very much enjoy the fact they are pure guff right now. -
I can't honestly think of a top team that are currently using 442. Its the most outdated system in football. Its bog standard, easy to break down and way to rigid and very rarely do teams play a straight forward 442 anymore. 451/433 is the best formation around at the moment. How anyone, especially Professor can claim that in football circles its being questioned is beyond me. Its the system every team is using at the moment if they can, and is the one that produces the best football and results. The holding midfielder has changed football massively and is probably one of the most important players in football now. The wingers go back and forth and the lone striker is going to become much more prominent in football over the next few years. When you think of good strikers now, you think of Torres, Zlaten etc, players who play upfront on there own and can lead a line by themselves. I challenge anyone to find me a team with a succesful bog standard 442 at the moment. 451 is the future. Its our best system and the best system in football at the moment. It suits us best and the introduction of Connelly gives us options. It doesn't mean we have to change a winning succesful system.

Lawrie is doing a guest lecture at Solent Uni this week sometime, I'll try and pop along and ask a couple of questions about the situation. Anything else people want me to ask him? I cant promise I will turn up but I'll do my best.

I saw it. Don't see the problem. Easter was telling the bloke to lay down because he was currently squatting and being ignored by the referee. Laying down gets the refs attention and the ref was made to look a complete bell end when the injured player required treatment and then subbed off at HT.

We played 4231 under Jan. We have been playing 4231 under Pardew lately. With Morgan/Mellis Playing in the AMC role, Lallana on the left, Papa on the right and Wotton (Although naturally, because he is guff, he sits deeper) and Hammond controlling midfield. Its the same formation. Get over it. Connelly will not start. It will be 4231 again. If Connelly did start instead of Lallana it would be 4231 with Connelly on the left. This is confirmed in the training reports from the 2 guys yesterday when they said Connelly played on the left instead of Lallana. They also said Lallana will play. Therefore I fully expect Connelly will not. Really don't see how anyone can see it differently and why there is a debate happening.

Think he's just a stop gap untill McLaggon is fit imo. At the end of this month loan deal McLaggon will have had another couple of reserve games under his belt and will probably take his place. Maybe Antonio will stay for 1 more month just to make sure.

Holiday without baggage - Only going to go and get smashed for two nights. Hand luggage is allowed so thats that sorted. Yes I have a Visa Electron. Actually no, I don't. Our student house account for bills is a Visa Electron card. Ideal for not getting chagred card fees aswell. Location - Yep we know it is going to be 70 miles from Barcelona but we did the same for Milan in January (2p aswell) and found a cheap coach into the city from the airport. Same will be available from Girona I suspect. That or a train. Wish I had done the booking of the whole plane now. Private jet thought makes me erect. The thought of Barcelona with 18 mates for just 2p each makes me cum though.

Oldham 0 - 2 Saints,1st half and halftime chat..

Nowhere to listen to this other than an old school radio or saints player I assume? -
I just managed to book 18 seats on a flight to Barcelona for me and a bunch of mates for 36p. 2p each. Bargain. I did this by avoiding all those charges you are on about. No baggage, Visa Electron, Web check in, etc etc. Treat!

Do we really need to have this pointless and boring debate again? It wouldn't be so bad if the majority of people posting about it actually had some sort of idea what they are talking about. The amount of people on here who throw accusations and statements about without questioning thier own beliefs and views first is actually cringeworthy.

You are dreaming very much. Mellis is highly rated at Chelsea. He's considered by many as there best midfield prospect. I always lol'd at the people slating him on here in the early days.

Football Manager 2010 - Build up thread for (30th October 2010)
Hopkins replied to Matthew Le God's topic in Computer Games
So am I right in saying that if I buy the boxed version, I will be able to play the game on 4 different computers at the same time if I install each one of them via Steam? -
Such an absurd statement that he's our best left back since Bridge. Le Saux and Bale are way ahead of him. Also Vignal. Bare in mind Harding is playing left back for a league one team right now. He's not even the best one in the league. He's good. Don't get carried away.
-
No. Morgan replaces Melis. Best team we could play without Melis so i'm happy and confident of 3 points.
-
Haha. I really am a turd. Waigo instead of Lallana, which is what I meant. Didn't realise about Morgan so Saga will take his place and will play uptop with Lambert.
-
Mills is a left back. Mellis is on international duty. Some people really are retarded. You included. Team IMO will be. Davis Lloyd Trotman Perry Harding Hammond Wotton Lallana Morgan Holmes Lambert
-
Not only will Lancashire not play right back but it will not be a condition in Antonio's contract to play tonight or any other time for that matter. Berk.
-
Love the idea of us being in this competition. The bloke who claimed its embarrasing and a friendly...Will you be going to Wembley if we get there? Joke competition but one I want to win. What sort of team we sticking out? I'd suspect Holmes, Saga, Pato to play. Lambert not and obviously Mellis isn't. Maybe Lallana on the bench. Jaidi wont play with a game on Friday either.
-
Wolves fan was telling me that Vokes is on his way to us. Don't believe it myself but thought I'd put that out there. Personally believe he'd be off to a Championship club if anywhere.
-
Am I the only one who thought we were class last night? we played some fantastic one touch two touch football and the link up play between Lambert, Lallana, Mellis, Morgan, Hammond and Waigo was immense. There 3 goals on another day would not have happened and we would have won convincingly. The result stinks. The way it happened stinks. But i'm only gutted, not dissapointed, just gutted because I can see some fantastic football in there.
-
Never a penalty. He ran through the two defenders and if anything it was a foul the other way.
-
Oh and apart from Lallana we were utter turd. Support was awesome though.
-
Just got back today myself. Well midnight last night. Drove up friday. Slept in the car in a car park. Watched the game in the Carlisle end. Almost started a riot when Rhadi scored and drove home the same evening. Good weekend.

So, why DID Mark Fry prefer Pinnacle over Liebherr?
Hopkins replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I don't know alot about business and administrator but a few things I can understand from there point of view which could have made the pinnacle bid more attractive. 1) MLT 2) Pinnacle offer = more money than the Swiss one. More money for creditors. 3) The longer it takes the more Fry gets paid right? I don't blame him for preferring the Pinnacle bid to start with. We all did. It seemed like the better deal at the time and it would have given a club hero the chairmans role. The administrator would have been lynced if he'd had sided with another bid.
