we have done this to death mate. do keep up.

Bournemouth paying more than us. Ho hum.

Chelsea will probably come in for him

Personally think this is more important to get over the line than Jackson, from what I've seen. Having a decent DM adds a whole lot more solidity to us and allows others to attack more. We've been a bit 'knife through butter' at times.

we have offered 12 m euros and they don't want to sell this month, apparently

Guess we'll see if he can reignite his earlier prowess/stats

No signing would. Don't think people are saying that. From my perspective, an Ings or actually a Wood might have been sensible avenues to go down in such an important position for relatively little outlay. Untested youngsters from foreign leagues are by their very nature, riskier, when we need to be dealing with more proven players.

in other whoopdi doo news Nicolas Jackson is ‘close’ to joining Southampton – who initially wanted a six-month loan deal with a buy option, but Villarreal’s demands meant that Saints have ‘decided to buy the player’ for €20million this month #saintsfc @diarioas

Good job we have bags of time and no need for a striker in promptly

It just gets better and better

Also, London, more in the limelight, better squad, less chance of going down, no damage to ego in coming back. And yes, probably more money. Hope he gets a knock or two... (sort of )

Sometimes you need to sign a player in part to stop him signing for your rivals. Bats.

If we are, all is forgiven

Still, the upside is that Ings won't play on Saturday and score the obvious written-in-the-stars goal against us. I hope.

Ings and Wood are reasons why both West Ham and Forest will finish above us. Really think our management is a bit dim.

He absolutely loves claret and blue

🚨 Southampton want to sign Lyon striker Karl Toko-Ekambi (30) – the French side would demand at least €4million for the Cameroon international #saintsfc @FabriceHawkins no brainer

Something quite poetic about a Wood going to a Forest. Matt Oakley would have been good there too.
