I know it was an obvious comment to make, was just trying to get the discussion back on topic, instead of the tedious sniping that has been going on.

http://www.forestforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=30054 Do Forest fans know something we don't about JP? They're probably just idiots, if we were to loan him to them then he wouldn't be playing against us a few days later. A fair few of them saying we're they're for the taking. Let's hope we're not
-
I was thinking more in relation to our upcoming game against them.

Disagree. It's very unlikely that we'll repeat our home form, so we really need to pick up wins away from home, especially against the sides who are struggling. We've got a lot of tough away games coming up, we'll be losing a few, so need to win a few.

Anyway, I don't believe we are, or are going to be in for Billy Sharp again. I reckon we could get a much better player for the sort of money he'd cost, once wages and a signing on fee are included. Let's just hope he's **** for Leicester

This will be my 6th attempt at seeing Saints pick up a win on the road. I think we'll do it this time. I know Cov are sh*t but I'm hoping that the 2nd half showing has given the lads a bit of a boost and reminded them how to win an away game.

Sounded like Nigel had a big grin on his face when he was talking about signings on Radio Solent after the Cov game. "maybe some loan signings, maybe some minor signings, or maybe a very major signing :D"

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/7419443/Lennon-won-t-sell-trio Neil Lennon has dismissed speculation that he is prepared to sell Celtic trio Kris Commons, Gary Hooper and Adam Matthews during the January transfer window. Attacking duo Commons and Hooper have been linked with Championship leaders Southampton, while Liverpool are rumoured to be interested in Matthews. All three players missed the Scottish Cup win over Peterhead on Sunday, but Lennon rejected reports that he is prepared to break up his squad. "It's speculation," said Lennon. "I'm not interested in anyone being sold unless the club receives a knock-out offer.

Not a bad draw at all. Very winnable London away day. Hoping Millwall go through so we get a big allocation

I don't think this place is representative at all. Of our group of 8, who are STHs and attend a decent number of away games every season, I think I'm the only one who uses this site. I've met a lot of good people who use this site, but then it has seemed to be the same with groups of fans I've met - a fairly small % of that group post on here. For me it's just a bit of addiction, I love reading up on Saints (and football in general), and if you look hard enough you can get into some very sensible and well informed debates. And then there's the transfer window threads, but I find it entertaining anyway.

Fook that. Miserable away game. No decent pubs nearby, heavy handed stewards and OB, and we'd get absolutely slaughtered
-
Newcastle away please. Been meaning to get up there for a weekend to visit some mates for ages. A cup draw would make us do it
-
******* hell. Clean sheet for Cov today I reckon. Completely alien set-up for us

Hooters is also just over the road from Meadow Lane IIRC

1. Connolly vs Boro - Amazing team goal 2. Lallana vs Leeds - Great turn and finish 3. Chappers vs Utd - Quality strike from a difficult angle

Hypothetic scenario, what do we do with a crazy offer for Rickie Lambert?
Jack replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
I would hope that Rickie would want to play at the top level with SFC -

You think we'd really be able to replace Lambert? 70+ goals from what, 115(ish) games? I can't think of a player in the country has that kind of record (who would join Southampton in the Championship in within the wage structure we have) Lambert isn't worth £10m, but he's worth at least that to us in terms of our long-term goal. -
Pretty sure if we did get 7 points in Jan (I don't think we will, but for arguement's sake) then we'd still be top. West Ham haven't been all that, Boro got spanked at the weekend. Cardiff are going well but are a few behind.

It's saints, we'll probably get d*cked by forest then win the home games.
