  1. Maybe it'll be more fun in League One. We might win a few more games??? this is just sh*t. plymouth are bottom of the form table.
  2. Never before have I been so certain we will lose. Never before have I been so certain we will be relegated Never before do I actually support my fantasy league team with more passion than my real team. ****
  3. rupert lowe, are you listening? this team is feckin abysmal, mcgoldricks asleep james aint the next bale christmas is at brighton next year!!!
  4. Setanta have had a record of showing some surprises so far this season. The last 4 games shown: Barrow 2-1 Brentford Histon 1-0 Leeds Kettering 2-1 Notts County Blyth Spartans 1-0 Bournemouth Despite this and the general 'magic of the cup', I doubt even Albus Dumbledore could conjure up a spell that will turn our dutch style misfits into worldwide heroes. Prediction: Southampton 0-4 Man Utd (tevez, scholes, tevez, welbeck)
  5. What we do know is that Bradley is much better looking out for crimestoppers than he is looking at the offside traps of opposing defensives. On Dyer, he has always never performed up to his potential. Remember that League Cup win 3-0 v Southend, he looked great. Was regarded almost on the same level as Walcott!!!
  6. Ive pretty much lost faith and seem to feel whichever way we turn its a bad turn. So just take administration IMO. We'd get a bit of media and some fans from other clubs feeling sorry for us. Might help a potential future chairmen want to try and help us and end the reign of Lord Lowe. If Lowe went on to Dragons Den and went looking for an investment, he'd be told to give it up. If by some miracle he recieved an offer, he'd never accept as he wouldnt give away more than 0.2% of the company.
  7. "why hello mr calderwood, welcome to southampton. Here are my christmas gifts of gold, myrrh and three points"
  8. He's got to go. With some of his c*cky players: David "im on fire" McGoldrick Andrew "im ready for the premier league" Surman Lloyd "one of those days" James This club is in such a mess that I cant actually put my head around how bad we are. Burley was 'baffled'. Jan was 'needing confidence'. What next?
  9. When we were in the Premier League I came up from Plymouth about 7 times a season. First season in the Championship my Dad refused to drive me up after 3, but in the 2nd season in the Champ I think I caught 11 games home and away from Plymouth. I would talk to all the Plymouth fans down there when I lived there and a lot would say they'd go every game if they were Premier League. Only a few I knew caught every game. If I still lived in the UK, I would be looking at the cost of getting in, the huge and well overpriced cost of petrol (which is 2.5x cheaper in Australia and even they think thats too much), the quality of football being provided, the atmosphere, the fact the itchen corner is shut and the most important thing, 1 HOME WIN ALL BL**DY SEASON and decided no no no to any game. The Man Utd match is on the TV. I would have watched it on the TV while maybe hiding behind the cushions. When people pay money to go to the football match they can chant what they like. I take the view that 'waving your season ticket' is both a sign of loyalness (great fans you are) but also something not exactly to be proud of. It must seem like a place of misery 5pm on Saturdays.
  10. Midweek record since Championship in 05/06, only including games played on a Tuesday or Wednesday: Luton 3-2 Southampton Ipswich 2-2 Southampton Southampton 0-0 Reading Leeds 2-1 Southampton Hull 1-1 Southampton Southampton 0-1 Sheff Utd Southampton 0-0 Crystal Palace Plymouth 2-1 Southampton Southampton 0-0 Preston Burnley 1-1 Southampton Southampton 2-0 Coventry Crystal Palace 0-2 Southampton Cardiff 1-0 Southampton Southampton 4-3 Birmingham Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace (boxing day) Southampton 2-1 Sheff Wed Coventry 2-1 Southampton Southampton 2-2 Cardiff Derby 2-3 Southampton (play off) Southampton 1-1 Colchester Preston 5-1 Southampton Bristol City 2-1 Southampton Southampton 0-0 Wolves Ipswich 2-0 Southampton Southampton 0-0 Sheff Wed Colchester 1-1 Southampton (boxing day) Southampton 0-3 Watford (new years) Southampton 0-1 Norwich Stoke 3-2 Southampton Southampton 0-2 Plymouth Wolves 2-2 Southampton Southampton 1-0 Leicester Southampton 2-2 Ipswich Southampton 2-0 Norwich Sheff Utd 0-0 Southampton Southampton 1-1 Coventry Southampton 0-0 Plymouth Wins 7, Draws 17, Losses 13 Played 37, Points 38 For 39, Against 49, GD -10 INTERESTINGLY, we won 5 of those 7 midweek games in 06/07, play off season. WITHOUT that season the record is Wins 2, Draws 15, Losses 12. So looking at that, we arent very good at all in midweek!!! 38pts from 37 would certainly relegate us!!!
  11. I was wearing one though be surprised if it was me. Plenty of Premier League (and Championship) shirts on show at the Suncorp.
  12. Just some questions to ponder over if you want to answer them go ahead... 1) Will we go into administration? 2) How far down the leagues will we go (if we go down at all)? 3) How long will it take before we can be just like all the other clubs in terms of finance? 4) Will we ever make it back to the Premier League and if so when? 5) Will we regain bragging rights over lucky skates anytime soon? 6) What position will we come in 08/09? 7) What will be the score against Burnley? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) probably 2) we might do an oldham. stay in league one for a bit. 3) can't see it for a long time 4) surely it'll happen one day. cant see it though. 5) as I put, 'lucky skates'. they'll find a dodgy way to survive for a long time yet. 6) somewhere between 20th and 23rd. hopefully 20th. 7) burnley are on fire. 1-0 to the clarets and maybe a drop to the bottom 3
  13. I turned off after the first half. I coudlnt believe in another 'Preston' as we just looked downright appauling. Defence was shambles. We passed it about alright but we never looked like scoring. Palace did. We had no ideas. Thought Robertson was utter tripe. Can't believe how we've turned Skacel from Mr Exciting in 2006 to Mr Attempting Career Recovery in 2008. As sky put it, sums up our season. I think we have a greater chance of relegation to last season. That pretty much in my book means its going to take a massive turn around to avoid it. WE CANT SCORE GOALS!!! WE LOOK SHAKY IN DEFENCE!!! It all spells doom. Oh and the fact we could go into administration makes the sad face even sadder. I couldn't have been born supporting a worse off club in my memory. Fact.
  14. Since we have been in the Championship here is our league record for televised matches: Southampton 0-0 Wolves Coventry 1-1 Southampton Wolves 0-0 Southampton Southampton 1-0 Luton Reading 2-0 Southampton Southampton 1-3 Watford Derby 2-2 Southampton Preston 3-1 Southampton Southampton 1-2 Colchester Southampton 1-2 Sunderland Southampton 1-2 Derby Derby 2-3 Southampton Watford 3-2 Southampton Southampton 1-0 Cardiff Burnley 2-3 Southampton West Brom 1-1 Southampton Southampton 0-1 Blackpool QPR 4-1 Southampton Coventry 4-1 Southampton Southampton 0-1 Bristol City Crystal Palace 3-0 Southampton TOTAL: Wins 4, Draws 5, Losses 12 Played 21, Points 17 For 23, Against 37, GD -14 Thats not very good. Especially this season with 5 losses in a row. Is it a mental thing or an annoying coincidence? And also, as a team who got relegated (and ie should be one of the stronger teams in the championship), 4 wins from 21 is just downright sh*t isn't it? People watching footy on the TV must enjoy betting against us nowadays.
  15. I cant believe that. A win would have been so helpful. And still we go on without home wins. That isnt going to pull in any more fans. So frustrating but we have to get over it and/or take it out on Palace on Monday.
  16. Bloominhell FFS aaaargh
  17. maybe 4 games unbeaten though. but does it matter? wins are valuable.
  18. Thats why we're struggling at the bottom. Pooey.
  19. Thats not funny anymore. Feck.
  20. I remember last season we lost to Norwich 1-0 at home, having 24 shots off target to 2 shots on or something like that. Well we have 9 on and 3 off so far today, which maybe suggests that Poortvliet has sorted out some of the poor attacking we had last season. COYR!!!
  21. 20 minutes left on the clock. Advice: Don't sit back!!! they will just come at us and at us if we do that. Play normal and get forward looking for that second. (i hope the players read this though its unlikely)
  22. good luck to the boy. think he could do well!!!
  23. The lightening around my house is more scary than the threat Wednesday are posing it seems. No game updates are fine by me!!!
  24. I dont get that. Raffles usually are fairly hard things to win. He really needs to sort out his comparisons...!!!
  25. would that be a possible 7 point gap if results stay the same (which could easily not happen)???
