I think we're better away. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Some things have changed. I'm no longer terrified whenever the opposition put in a tame shot from outside the area. We're actually unbeaten in five, conceding only four goals. Yes, sure, it should still be way better. It's just as frustrating as hell that we've got the players to do the job, but a manager who's doing nothing to help. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

15% is compulsory. That would be close to 4000. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Probably this. If we play 2 CBs, then JWP for Yoshida. Tough on Romeu, but unless there's something wrong with Lemina, have to give him a start. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Sell the top players. Pocket the parachute payments. That covers his outlay. Then hope we get back up anyway, sell at a tidy profit. Pretty sure investing to improve the club isn't on the agenda. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Looking at the table reinforces what a chance we missed last night. We could have been 14th above four teams who all have tough games this weekend. With our spirits up from a win, and a game against the bottom club to come, things would have felt very different. But we are just brilliant at doing disappointment this season. In other words things could still be worse? And probably will be. [emoji852]️ That helps. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Decided on Leonard Cohen for my long train journey home. To cheer me up, compared with thinking about Saints. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

It's true that we controlled most of the game. Which earns nothing. Would have been good to just control after a devastating opening blitz with Boufal, Tadic and Lemina setting up Carrillo. For some reason that didn't happen. Ah, yes. Three of them weren't on the pitch, which didn't help. It's always difficult breaking down an organised and packed defence. You need individual moments of skill and lots of movement, neither of which we had in the first half. Better in the second half. That team (roughly) should have started. Boufal tried, probably too hard, but he fought and mainly recovered well when he lost the ball. Carrillo looked promising but not quite sharp enough yet. Where has the Gabbiadini of last season gone? No confidence, no movement. After Saturday I suggested the one thing MP usually gets about right is the team selection. It's in-game management that is woefully lacking. But last night his team selection cost us. I'm worried about changing manager this late. November, the writing should have been on the wall, but it's not Les's style to admit he's made a mistake. But I'm equally worried that this one doesn't have the capacity to improve. I'd say most of the players are still committed and working hard, but I get the feeling they're working for each other, and the club at large, rather than for the manager. Did they come out fired up? It seems clear to me that the relationship with some players has broken down. Obviously Redmond, probably Gabbiadini, Lemina (or he's injured) and possibly Bertrand. Boufal may go the same way if he doesn't get starts. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

There was no evidence last night that the players have given up. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I've kept quiet tonight until now after a barrage of abuse on Saturday. But this is too much to ignore. Firstly, no I'm not happy with the performance. But, for a change, the manager's main error tonight was the starting eleven, rather than subs. Surely this was a game to start with strong positive intent? An attacking four of Davis, JWP, Tadic and Long doesn't say that at all. The second half team is roughly the one that should have started. Maybe with Romeu instead of Davis, although Davis came close to creating a goal at the end. The players were in no way confused at 1-1. They were looking to push forward and did, indeed, nearly get caught on the break. The advocates of "always play forwards" need to recognise that if a forward pass isn't on, it's more important to keep possession sideways or backwards. Even the best teams do it. But the positive from that second half was evidence of commitment from most of the team. The only player I might exclude was Bertrand, who was way too subdued. Stephens MOTM, a leader. Boufal tried to do just a bit too much. Carrillo showing promise, with pleasing aggression. Long not at his best, Tadic disappointing. Unfortunately, Gabbiadini invisible. Hojbjerg and Romeu good overall. Very disappointing. We should have won. But not suicidally bad. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

A win might not save us, but it would bump us up the table for now, improve morale and hopefully help to lift the gloom. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

The year we lost to Arsenal in the Cup Final I had £20 at 20/1 on Saints, placed before the 3rd round. On the day of the final Arsenal we're about 4/6 to win so I could have lumped £200 on them and guaranteed a win win. But still couldn't do it. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

It would be devastating for Saints to lose such a talented player, but in the last resort maybe Spartak could have Redmond? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I don't know, but it's been suggested consistently that the selling club are only required to sell if the release clause fee is met in full up front. If you offer it in instalments, which is what I believe we may have done, it can be refused. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
