Alex Crook is total rubbish, but even he sometimes gets something right by guesswork. My thoughts are that the right replacement couldn't be found earlier, or now, and Saints think it's too late anyway now and would be more disruptive to sack him than hang on and hope. I'm guessing that, in the background, Les Reed (who was on the dressing room Saturday), Kelvin and others are really taking over the reins and MP is a dead man walking. Pellegrino has never looked like a leader, but even less so now. I'm pretty sure the changes that have worked (McCarthy, Sims, dropping Redmond although he's come back better) weren't decided by MP. Probably. He's been solid and just done what you expect a keeper to do. With FF, it got to the point with every goal I was thinking he could have done better, kept seeing him rooted to his line or very hesitant as he was beaten by yet another 6 years header. I can't think of a goal that McCarthy has let in that he should have stopped, or was clearly his fault. Maybe last week he could have done a bit more for Burnley's goal (clearing the first shot), but even then they only scored with a handball. He comes for crosses, and seems to judge well when to come. Might agree about Gabbiadini but don't think Boufal has got the vision, Redmond and Tadic need to be on the wings. A couple of games back when Tadic was 10, an article showed a map of his movement, and there was a gaping hole where you'd expect to see a 10. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Yes. Not allowing the free kick was appalling. And only 2 mins added when there had been 5 subs during the second half. If that free kick had been given against us and for a "big" team, would that have happened? Think back to Man C away.
