  1. As expected. Chosen as relegation showdown. Maybe. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  2. He has been injured. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  3. Very good, as always. But unusual for you to be so restrained in your criticism.[emoji6] Absolutely right about playing fir their own brand and their next move rather than the team and the club. No loyalty, no commitment, no respect of the badge, the club or the fans. Too many don't give a toss if we go down. Could actually lever their next move. Utterly f##king disgraceful. 4. The problem is that any team selection has to showcase our expensive mistakes in the hope of recovering some losses in the summer. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  5. Yes, but this could be something very different. I sense a total meltdown with no investment when it's obviously needed. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  6. Whatever happens, I've got a feeling this is going to be a difficult summer. The first scenario is if we get relegated. Immediate question is whether we keep Hughes, assuming he wants to stay. If he were to go, I doubt we'd get an upgrade in the Championship. Then, how many players would go? No idea whether there are relegation release clauses but you can bet the likes of Bertrand, Tadic, Cedric, Lemina and Boufal will consider themselves too good for a lower division and will have agents on overtime whilst manipulating a move VVD style. We'd need to go back to developing talent as we won't attract players. Gao might well pocket player sales to offset him expenditure. Parachute payments could go the same way. Don't expect investment to get us back up. Unless we have a manager who can build a committed team from the remnants plus recruits from the academy, doubt we'd do better than mid table, and possibly worse if we have bad attitudes remaining. And, most importantly, it would have a devastating financial effect on Saints. I've heard from someone inside the club that up to 60% of staff could go. A sobering thought for those saying Championship would be good. It wouldn't. Scenario two is we manage to stay up. And, except financially, it isn't that different to scenario one. There's still the Hughes question. And the same players will want out of a struggling Prem team. But there would be a bit more cash to invest if, and it's a big if, our owners want to. I seriously doubt that and fear the attitude will be that we've survived once do can do it again without investment. I'm convinced Gao did not borrow a fortune to get a club in which he can invest more money. He did it to get something he believes will make him money. And he'll get that by selling assets and minimising costs. And, whatever happens, will anyone get rid of Les? Hope I'm wrong. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  7. Or have no-one able to distribute the ball to the front men. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  8. Agreed. Was ridiculous to start him. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  9. And another reason is that most of the loudest contributors after defeats in the past have screamed about starting two up front being the answer to everything, so they don't have much to say. Hopefully yesterday did at least blow that theory up for good. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  10. That thought did cross my mind. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  11. Romeu won't start. He's been protected from getting his 10th yellow and has one more game to be in the clear. Definitely need JWP. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  12. Pretty well agree with that. We need the players who want to play for Saints, not themselves. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  13. Looks great. And I really am not drowning any sorrows in buckets of red wine. Really. Honest. Because obviously I don't need to. [emoji852]️[emoji849][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  14. We won easily. All relegation fears gone. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  15. Agree JWP should have started, ahead of Austin. We have to have a link between defence and attack. Lemina and Hojbjerg gave the ball away at critical moments, partly because Tadic and Redmond don't make themselves available to take a pass and recycle it. And Yoshida needs to be back in. He was pretty solid at the end of last season with Stephens. And where was Sims? A couple of good games and he vanishes. And I'd vote for Hesketh at 10. With the defence looking more than shaky, need Romeu back too. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  16. From the Guardian match report; Mark Hughes picked an attacking 4-4-2 for his first league game, with Charlie Austin fit enough to start up front for the first time since tearing a hamstring on 23 December, but Southampton’s lack of intensity in midfield and organisation in defence in the first half was startling. Wrong formation, wrong personnel, wrong tactics, wrong attitude. Otherwise nearly average. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  17. This. Thanks for saving me the effort of posting. Totally predictable result of playing that team, with two up front. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  18. I hope all the two up front mob are getting ac reality check. Overrun in midfield. Appalling. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  19. Probably being saved for the night before the Cup Final, if we get to Wembley. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  20. No and yes, partly. TV wanted to show the Chelsea game that week and only Thursday was free. Chelsea not keen, so to appease them, PL said we have to play the same night too. To be fair, obviously. What would have happened if we'd been on TV on Thurs? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  21. That is utterly ridiculous and disgraceful. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  22. I was trying to forget Maidstone. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  23. Ah yes, that's fair. Except that Chelsea may have little to play for in the league and have a massive squad, so can rest pretty well all of their first choice team on the Thursday night, whilst we'll have a critical relegation game and half the players to choose from. 24. That did cross my mind as our minibus was held up at gunpoint. They wanted a ransom to let us continue. Was just a little worrying when the driver refused, but I'm here to tell the tale. Did go to Roatan too. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  25. The Mayan ruins at Copan, Honduras were very impressive. As a whole, Honduras is a beautiful country but full of very scary people. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
