As with any resignation there is a period of notice to be worked or compensation to the employer in lieu. Adkins has a 12 month contract so he can either pay compensation himself or his new employer can do it for him. He won't and we're limiting what we're offering. It will be thrashed out.

Stop dreaming that O'Neill is ever coming. Anyway, I'd rather have Adkins at our level.

Agree about Guly but would move to 451 with him playing in the hole, keeping Hammond and Spiderman in CM. Probably Dickson LM. (just seen Benjii's post and we agree so it must be good.)

Think there is extra time

Accepted he is tonight, but wasn't Saturday until Harding came off. On what I've seen so far, I'd prefer Harding at LB but am not sure whether Dickson is right in midfield.

The shape does seem wrong and, on the basis of Saturday, it seems to me that there's too much going down the left. Is Dickson the problem? On the face of it, he was not needed. He's a LB and Harding was as good as anyone last season with Mills as good cover. So we're playing him out of position where Lallana should be. And of course it's becoming obvious how much we use the long ball and without RL it doesn't work. At least we can still bring on our impact subs of Papa and Antonio. Oh sh!t, we can't.

Anyone else thinking last year's team was better than this?

Depends how you define "playing"

I just don't see this as a quality signing. I never rated him when he was in his prime (poor man's Emile Heskey maybe, and that's very poor) and now 4 goals in 24 games says it all. Would far rather see Antonio back. Marquee signing? No way, not good enough.
