  1. Except Le Tissier didn't just pick a spot and thump it. I remember watching him explain his technique, he always side-footed it in a way that if the keeper moved early he could easily adjust his foot to go for the other corner. If the keeper didn't go early he knew his strike would be powerful enough whatever corner it went in.
  2. Probably more than if it was just ignored/swept under the carpet.
  3. Some idiots will do it whatever but it doesn’t help with dog whistle politics trying to stir up a culture war just to try and get votes from knuckle draggers. When the PM and other politicians say it’s OK, and actually encourage people to boo anti-racism gestures it just empowers these morons and makes them think their views are acceptable.
  4. Matt’s technique worked for him but he was one of the most naturally gifted players ever seen in this country, would everyone be able to pull it off?
  5. To be fair Rashford’s run up worked in that it sent the keeper the wrong way, he just pulled it. Everyone has their own style, the only thing that matters is the end result.
  6. I dunno, 1 solitary cup win achieved with home advantage, 1 final appearance in the last 50 odd years - that's worse than Saints.
  7. He got the move he wanted, worked out well for everyone by the look of things.
  8. Thought Southgate should have changed it when it was obvious we were being over run early in the second half and think the subs for the pens were a mistake but the best team won and probably would have regardless of what Southgate did. No point moaning, England are just not very good at football.
  9. Yeah good point. If we had scored our penalties we might have won.
  10. thought it was harsh on both of them to make them take a pen, made to sit on their arse for three hours then get sent on to to a job half the team havn’t got the bollocks to do. Southgate fucked it again IMO.
  11. Fuck knows why Southgate sent up a kid to take the last pen.
  12. Of course it was. I don’t remember ‘breaking up the UK’ ever being used by the leave campaign as a reason to vote for Brexit. I though that was part of project fear?
  13. Haven't we always though, plenty of us could drive quite safely at 100mph but speed limits are there because idiots would be killing people all over the place. You have to take into account the lowest common denominator, that's why you have speed limits, drug controls, gun controls and packs of peanuts with 'may contain nuts' written on them.
  14. The BBC still provides a service, it’s great how it is and fantastic value.
  15. Italy don’t look as dangerous without Spinazzola but still have to be favourites. An in form Kane and home advantage have to give us a decent chance tho.
  16. I thought he was shit but he’s proved me wrong. Despite his poor club record he seems to be a good fit for the National team, I guess his previous England experience helps him and he’s an intelligent guy. Think much of the problem the National side have faced over the years is dealing with the pressure and Southgate seems to have them right in the head.
  17. I doubt most of the public even know what a FFP3 is, if they are nervous about being surrounded by massless people they will probably just stay at home, not great for the economy.
  18. It's great that things are getting back to normal but I really can't understand why face masks can't be kept on in public transport or places where you have to be in close contact with other people, just while the 3rd wave keeps going up and everyone has the chance to get double jabbed. If anything knowing people will have masks on will probably make more people likely to want to use trains etc so would boost the economy. I guess Bozo wants to have his freedom day.
  19. Not really, because under FPTP how much your vote counts depends on where you happen to live.
  20. It all depends on what targets we have that we could realistically land this summer and what players Ralph thinks may be ready to take Ings place next season. Kicking the can down the road for another season could be the best option if the alternative is relegation this season. Only someone who knows all the options can really make the call.
  21. I would not let him leave for £20mill, utterly pointless if we get relegated. Wouldn't be worth listening to anything below £30mill. Face it, if he goes we are probably fucked. I have little faith in the current set up landing a goalscorer close to the ability of Ings regardless of what fee we get.
  22. Yeah, because you don’t come on here and celebrate every time the Tories win, or post pointless little opinion poll graphs every time they are ahead.
  23. Anyone with half a brain knew what he meant. At least you dinosaurs are finally admitting that more votes would count if there was some sort of PR system. Sad thing is, you know the current system is shit you just don't want it changed because it favours your own sad party allegiance. You could at least admit it.
  24. There are PR systems that allow for local representation as well.
