  1. Cool, that means if Liverpool, Utd or Arse win the cup then we just have to finish above West Ham to get europe. Better go check my passport!
  2. When did that change?
  3. We need two in the FA Cup final otherwise the cup runner up will get it - that is looking unlikely now with tonights draw.
  4. Went to Diva and one other strip bar. I remember a girl coming out to dance to Robbie Williams' Come Undone and looking terrified as every bloke in the place immediately started singing "Shoot the Pompey scum". Was a fantastic trip though, very dodgy city. I will always remember the cab ride to the ground thinking what a shame it was that only fans of the few big clubs get to experience European Football regularly. it's brilliant rocking up at some dodgy bar in the middle of some **** hole and bumping into people you went to school with. 60p a pint as well. it's like an England trip without the assholes.
  5. You obviously have to be sensible about it and budget for not qualifying the following seasons. But the extra income will give the club money to increase the size of the squad.
  6. That's what the CL money is for. Qualify - get cash - buy more players - sorted.
  7. That explains it then. A bunch of dickhead refs following the literal interpretation of the law rather than use common sense.
  8. I don't agree with that. None of the highest earning people I know have a degree, all salesmen and business owners.
  9. Who gives a sh!t, I've got my passport ready that's all that matters.
  10. Only because the keeper dived and grabbed the ball. If the keeper doesn't dive and grab it Mane would have got the ball and had an opportunity to shoot with the keeper stranded. Not an open goal but definitely a goal scoring opportunity. Also, why the f*ck would a goalkeeper dive 2 yards outside the area and grab the ball at a strikers feet if he didn't think it was a goal scoring opportunity?
  11. dogs abuse
  12. If the goalkeeper is that position (2 yards outside the box) and the attacker has the ball then it is an obvious opportunity to score a goal regardless of where the defenders are IMO.
  13. How was it not an obvious goalscoring opportunity? All Mane had to do was touch the ball to the side and he could pass it into the net. It was way more obvious than the normal red card scenario when the last defender brings the player down, then they still have a goal keeper to beat.
  14. That is completely bonkers, you couldn't get a more obvious goal-scoring opportunity.
  15. shouldn't we want Liverpool to win? If the cup final is Liverpool v Man U or Arsenal then the 7th place team will get into Europe.
  16. I would bite your hand off for 6th. Be realistic, a Europa cup place would be a massive achievement. The top four will be Chelsea, City, Man Utd and Arsenal.
  17. Firstly, I didn't mean we should be funding people who are not serious about a career just that if they are nailed on to get a job as a doctor or lawyer, taking on the debt is a no brainer. Most people are not straight A students so taking on the debt for their chosen career is a risk they have to think about. Someone who could be a great scientist or engineer might be put off and end up doing something less worthwhile. Secondly, universities are not just there to prepare people for jobs, they are for furthering knowledge. I think in tody's world where people seem obsessed by grabbing as much money as they can we should encourage education even if their degree doesn't lead directly to a job.

  19. I'm sorry but that is ******. Of course if you are a straight A student serious on being a doctor or something of course the debt thing is a no brainer. But most people are not and even without fees deciding to go to Uni it can be a hard choice between being skint studying something worthwhile or getting a job. IMO we should be encouraging people to get educated and pursue worthwhile careers.
  20. Student loans have never been like "real debt" but when I was 18 I was sh!t scared of any sort of debt. I worked hard between studying and left Uni debt free (apart from an almighty overdraft). I just think that sort of debt is more off-putting to people from families with naff all than rich kids. I know for a fact that I wouldn't have done my degree and would probably ended up in some soul-less career as a salesman or something (probably earning more) and some snotty rich twit would be doing my current job half as well.
  21. All I know is that I would never had gone to Uni if it meant getting into the sort of debt students do today. I'm not from a rich family and when I was 18 the idea of getting into debt scared the sh!t out of me, it was daunting enough moving away from home and finding the cash for rent etc let alone paying 10K a year fees on top. I expect the only reason more college leavers are going to Uni is the simple fact that job opportunities have been limited os for many it's a no brainer even with the huge debts.
  22. I agree, taking Mane off was a weird one, especially considering he has scored in each of his previous 4 games.
  23. It was obvious we needed to get another striker in January. Our lack of ambition will cost us.
  24. Why oh ****ing why didn't we get another forward in the window.
  25. Another tragic case I read about at the weekend: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/the-tragic-tale-of-the-pensioner-who-killed-himself-after-begging-for-help-over-benefit-cuts-10029754.html
