William Hill stop taking bets on Saints relegation
aintforever replied to lumuah's topic in The Saints
22/1 is worth a punt, we could finish bottom by a mile. -
That's what happens when you give an 18 year old 100K a week. Hopefully he will go off the rails and end up addicted to coke and hookers. ****
-
It's not his to sell though, he was an employee.
-
You have to wonder if big fat Kat is doing this to get back at Cortese. They obviously had a falling out, I expect Cortese gave her the big "you can't run this club without me" so she thought, **** you, you dwarf I don't need you or your club.
-
Yes, but if the owner wants to pull 'X' amount of millions out he could have stayed and helped the club.
-
Of course we would but he was the first rat to jump ship.
-
That worryingly suggests it was not his decision to sell the players we have.
-
As soon as they gave in to Rickie Lambert's "wahhh wahhh let me join Liverpool" this was inevitable.

Morgan and Jay to Follow According to Simon Peach

Our saviour is dead. -
F*ck me, he's managed to flog 90mill worth of players in next to no time. Maybe if you don't flog every decent player we have someone might actually want to join us you useless c*nt. Think about it Reed, no one (except the desperate or sh!t) is going to go near us in this current state.

"The Class of ’92" - It may have escaped your attention but they actually stayed at their club and played together Chambers you c*nt.
-
What a c*nt

If this happens you can put your house on us getting relegated, it wont even be close. -
What, making loads of money?
-
How do we know this wasn't Marcus' plan all along?
-
I expect he was just working to Cortese's Champions League pie in the sky plan which obviously required further investment, KL decided to go down another route - not sure you can blame the bean counter.
-
It's not something I would like to bet on because it could very easily go either way. Keoman could be a top manager and our kids could be the next golden generation and we could be as good as last year. But at the moment I would bet on relegation, I think it's a very fine line between finishing mid-table and being in a relegation scrap. Our team has been ripped apart and we are basically starting from scratch - with a new manager who is untested in this league. I don't think our squad is as good as many think. We were lucky last year with injuries so the lack of strength in depth wasn't exposed. unless we make 4 or 5 top signings I think it will be a very long season. All the other football fans (non-Saints) in my office think we're nailed on to go down.

I can understand the Lambert (even though we practically gave him away), Lallana, Shaw and Lovren sales but flogging Chambers makes no sense. We don't need the money, he's not in a position to force a move even if he wanted to. It's almost like the big clubs have been told to help themselves to whoever they want because we need to raise some cash.
-
How is that any different to predicting we will stay up without knowing who we will sign?
-
no.
-
Maybe, and this is a novel idea, she wants to make some money out of her investment.
-
OK, we will know KL wants to flog players and pull a **** load of money out of the club. I think it's obvious what is meant by it in this context.
-
That looks a good bet to me. Sure, Keoman could be an inspired choice of manager and our kids may prove to be up to the job but there is a fair chance of complete meltdown.
-
I expect Reed has the power to give the final yes or no but I doubt anyone will be signed who Keoman doesn't want.
-
If we flog Chambers we know it is asset stripping IMO.
