Exactly this. I’ve worked in and around advertising for knocking in 30 years and selling is all advertisers care about. Things have changed massively since I started out, back in the 90’s I used to get from some clients “that’s great but lose the black/Asian guy”, nowadays it’s the complete opposite, it’s more “that’s great but we need more diversity”. It’s all about context, people are making more of an effort for representation now because it was so racist in the past, that is undoubtedly a good thing.

He does look quality, the fact that we have a player of his quality and we are still sat below Oxford and Portsmouth in the table says all you need to know about the manager.

Why does it need to be proportionate? What exactly is the problem with companies choosing a diverse range of people to advertise their products?
