It pleasing to see him stepping up and putting in the performances, especially with the flack that RM took at the Fans Forum for backing him so much.

But some people are looking for "Noddyness"......can't moan about much on the pitch at the moment.....let's look for something else....

We were not shit on Wednesday. We were not very effective in the first half admittedly, but we controlled the second half. What we were not good at was scoring another goal or two. People have got into this negative mindset (Bazunu is shit, Manager is shit, Manning is shit. style of football is shit. every win is "lucky"....I even saw early posts saying that THB was shit....after two games!). We are 11 games unbeaten and are probably the form team in the Championship, but some people find it difficult to admit that they might be wrong, and look for any opportunity to prove that they are right.

My random thoughts:- I thought that today was our most complete performance of the season. We were on top and in control for 90 minutes and very few mistakes. Every player including the subs played well. Difficult to pick a MotM......equally difficult to pick a weak link today. Ryan Manning takes a lot of stick....perhaps desevedly so at times....but he was excellent today....even Joe Aribo looked good when he came on. Despite what others say, I don't think that we played badly on Wednesday. First half left a lot to be desired but second half was much better. Seeing the way that we played today gives me hope that something good is happening at SMS despite the negativity in some quarters. Onwards and Upwards!!!

It is a very strange one for me. When it is working, the playing style/system is a joy to watch. When we are up against it, it is very frustrating!

Sadly, a lot of our fan-base think that way. I have heard this numerous times after virtually every result....."We were lucky again".....you don't regularly score last gasp goals by being lucky....you get them by keeping going to the very last minute.

Random thoughts on todays game:- First half fairly even but Saints just about edged it. Although both teams were playing a similar style, Saints were more clinical and determined. Too many passes going astray for the Baggies and too many tackles lost. Second half....Baggies seemed to react to their HT talk better than Saints did theirs. We went through the traditional second-half wobble, when they scored, before responding. All in all an entertaining game. Difficult to pick a MotM. I actually thought that Mason Holgate did OK today....definitely not MotM though! 😂. Thought that everbody played well and a big plus seeing Ross Stewart on the pitch! All in all an entertaining game. Overheard people talking on the way back to the car, saying that "We were lucky....we can't keep on being lucky. RM is a lucky manager". When do we start giving the team/manager credit for what is happening. I actually hope that he is a "Lucky Manager!"
