Mr Cortese is clearly a very clever ruthless business man who looked at the fixture and new we were likely to have the start we had. If he had appointed someone in the close season and we had started as we did there would have uproar. If we got to position where he thought we not be relegated he clearly thought it would be safe to do this. If we never got out of the bottom three i suspect he would have kept Nigel to do the Championship job again. It will all go wrong if the players do not get behind the new coach and we go back down, but i do think there are three worse teams than us in the league. Agreed Cork had a good game but if he had just played the simple ball back to Clyne and not turned back and inside allowing them to push and pressure the ball all the way back to Gazz we may well have one. Also if Yoshida had not showed for Gazz and turned his back he would have put his foot through it. Experienced players need to lead and not give the youngsters a chance to make bad decisions.

Would like to see Shaw given the chance against Sheff Weds, Fox is clearly not up to it and Clyne moving over much such a difference. Would not mind betting Cork ends up at RB as I think Frazer may struggle. Not Puncheons biggest fan although he has been ok, but still makes to many bad decisions for me and I think Myuka may offer more eventually. As a whole the midfield looked good, not much mention of Schielderlen today but he did a really solid job and is showing some real steel. Ramirez could well turn out to be one of the greatest players to wear the shirt, he was class today!!!
