I think some of the concerns about Pinnacle are as follows ... 1) The finances and where they are coming from. Different statements over the last couple of weeks have contradicted each other in terms of whether the finances are coming from an individual or a group. Questions directed at Lynam about this have been ignored. The guy released by Pinnacle in the media as a money man doesn't fit the typical image that we expect and there have been some dodgy rumours about him. 2) The FL business seems odd and could be a smoke screen for other problems with the deal. It could be possible that the Swiss have been working hard over the last couple of weeks and are ready to make an offer. I just wonder that if the the Swiss can match the amount of money offered by Pinnacle for the club, whether Fry will opt for them after being messed around so much by Pinnacle. I know the MLT factor still makes it hard for some people to dismiss or lose faith in Pinnacle. But perhaps he doesn't know the full story about where their funds are coming from anyway. Perhaps he's been fed the same lines as the rest of us and has acted in good faith? I don't care who buys us as long as they turn out to be sound. However, I think we should be a lot more dubious about Pinnacle at this moent in time than some people are.

If I saw ... "Loads of Saints fans at the harbour side today, between 30-40 of them. All with pints in there hands and all singing "Southampton till I die" and "pompey fan on a string" when they were seen." ... I'd first make a witty remark about the different meaning s of "there" and "their" but then I would be embarrassed by the behaviour shown. If they told me they were celebrating the life a friend, I would say "I'm very sorry to hear about your friend but do you have to be drunkenly swigging pints on the harbour side, singing football songs and making a general nuisance of yourselves?" I think that's a very fair point to be honest, other members of the general public don't want to be confronted with what many of them will see as 'yobbos' on a sturday afternoon when they're trying to take the kids or grannie out for a walk. This is all assuming the OP's description is correct of course. If it isn't, then my interpretation of the situation will have to change accordingly.

With Pinnacle's constant delaying tactics and the recent news that the Swiss are in town with "proper money", I can't believe there aren't more people declaring that they've lost patience with Pinnacle and that the Swiss group are now the preferred option. Has everyone really been swayed by the MLT interview that much that all is forgiven and we still think that Pinnacle are some kind of super-consortium? I have my doubts.

let's hope he wasn't our mystery backer -
it's like a house of cards

the company is lyndhurst based and he doesn't live off the avenue. not in southampton at all.

thank you. I'll be gettinig that on the back of my replica shirt once all is announced. you can have 'queen' if you like.
-
yes and you can check my post history to see when I started backing him. Just before I did that I announced that things would move with the takeover the 'next day' and they did - this was pinnacle entering exclusivity. I don't usually go for the ITK crap but the couple of links I've had have been coming up trumps this time and I think I've got it right. I will be feeling a little smug if my assumptions are correct.

make sure i get full reward for the ratcliffe tip please. my post was first. thank you

this is ghey and nothing to do with takeover gossip.
-
JR is not interested in football enough for somebody to be able to say he is so passionate about another club that he wouldn't takeover saints. He is primarily a businessman and wants to make money. I don't know where you get your info from but any fondness for manure is being overstated by your or your source in my opinion.

i found that pic too. it is the very plane. The blue made me wonder if it was Air Force One! reports say it touched down in bournemouth at 16:20 which would make our sightings correct.

The title of the thread makes the op look like an attention seeker and was designed to fool in my opinion.
-
I'll certainly accept that then but my gut reaction still says that it was abnormally low for a routine approach.
-
god please no
-
i don't think so. To my knowledge, they don't regularly take aircraft that big at bournemouth and this was too low to be doing a normal approach to an airport that far way anyway. Its hard turn out towards the isle of wight seems at odds with the bournemouth theory as well.

At about 4:10pm today a 747 flew very low over Shirley. I was on Wilton Road and it appeared to come from the direction of the Common (East to West) before heading South and out over the water. I swear it could only have been a couple of thousand feet in the air and was moving really slowly. Does anyone know why on earth it would have been in the area and that low? Did anyone else see it?
