Curiouser and curiouser said Alice.....maybe he is on his way to us and things are nearing a conclusion? Thanks for the info Flyer.
-
To be fair, Baird wasn't the tallest but made a bloody good CB for us.
-
Yes, still the case. I always park on Cemetery Rd, just off the Avenue, below the Cowherds. It's free at weekends and there are usually plenty of spaces. About a 20-25 mum walk from SMS but virtually no traffic by time you get back to your car.

Just putting a few bits and pieces together here but could this be feasible? 1. Daily Mail reports we have put in a joint bid for Fox and Rodriguez 2. Burnley say OK, reluctantly, but only allow us to sign Fox initially as they do have cover at left back, but not enough cover in the striker department 3. Pictures emerge of J-Rod holding the match ball with "bye bye J-Rod" on it, after Burnely's Carling Cup game, with the inscription later shown to contain goalkeeper Jensen's signature (giving credence to point 2) 4. Stories emerge that we have bids already in place for two players, but at least one signing depends upon the club in question being able to sign replacements (Pilchards et al) 5. Burnley sign two strikers in Ings and Hines, allowing.... (6. ....J-Rod to join Saints) PI Invictsaint over and out.....

Given Pilchards' news, I think you could be on to something here.....

Anyone know a decent place to park in the town? Last time I went to Portman Road was when Chris Marsden scored his wonder goal and I can't for the life of me remember where I parked!
-
But a side that has nonetheless lost at home to Northampton and Hull in the last seven days....
-
Why do we 'desperately' need them? We've won 2 out of 2 and have scored 8 goals and conceded only 2 in all competitions. Honest question requiring an honest answer, as I simply can't see why we need anybody 'desperately'. Well?

£4m swoop for Burnley duo Rodriguez and Fox?
InvictaSaint replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
I feel Sussex Saint's highlighted quotation is the most important element and is simply Burnley preparing, in a thinly disguised manner, for a potential / likely sale of Rodriguez in the next fortnight. As we saw with AOC and with so many other players elsewhere, the minute the player says he wants to go, you pretty much know it's going to happen. Watch this space I suppose.... -
This guy/woman is usually very near the mark in terms of what he/she knows. Am inclined to believe that we are not far away from making a big move for somebody. Gut instinct is it will be a 'name' forward.

Pic of him v Sheff Utd has him with short mousy brown hair.
-
I shall miss his voice breaking at some point during the reading of the Saints team...

I rang the club again yesterday and spoke to a very nice lady at St Marys who told me that the system had my season tickets as "to be collected". This in spite of me receiving an email confirmation from the club that the STs would be posted out to me when they were ready. To be fair to the woman to whom I spoke, she was exceptionally apologetic and said they would be posted out special delivery yesterday (Friday). The STs duly arrived today. Glad to now have them but boy, what a mess they have made of this process.....

So will Left Brest have to go without a CB this season?
-
Still not received mine. Phoned yesterday and was promised that they would (all 3 of them: mine, my son's and my daughter's) be sent out first class the same day (Tuesday). Nothing has turned up today. They have had my money for over 4 weeks now. Pathetically poor customer service I'm afraid.
-
At least we aren't Sheffield Wed; they have just lost 14-0 to Alfreton in a friendly!
-
Adkins said post-match that we didn't pick up any more injuries, so can therefore only assume that it was nothing serious and that de Ridder is ok.

1-0 Saints: Connolly

Honest (i.e. Non-facetious!) question, but what makes you think that Saint-Lard?
-
Curiosity rather than worry, Peter ;-) Bigger and more important things to worry about at home! Hope you're well.
-
Now available online and at megastore, for those who are interested.
-
Apologies if this is being discussed elsewhere (though I can't see another thread where this is the case) and notwithstanding the club's policy on keeping injury news hush-hush, but have we heard anything about Alex's injury from Wednesday night? The last snippet I saw, from somebody on this board, wad that he left the ground on crutches, but i have not seen anything further.
-
Let's hope the Yeovil cloggers don't get anywhere near him!

Enjoy every minute! Bring plenty of unhealthy, sugar-filled food and you'll / he'll be fine ;-) I took my son to his first game vs Gillingham in October 09 (ironically since we live in Gillingham). He was almost 5 then and now he sits with me' in the Chapel most games. My almost 4 year old daughter will be coming on the 6th too! Hope you and your son enjoy the day.

Well, if that is the case then I would fully expect a severing of ties with Umbro, because any company which has had this long to get a shirt ready - a shirt seen by the club's PR guy, Jordan Sibley, in March - and which is then unable to get a consignment manufactured and delivered on time with this much advance notice, and which only discovers a problem NOW....does not deserve our custom.
