Win at home, draw away - or, for the pessimists who think our home form will fall away, vice versa - and we will be promoted.
-
Self-evident really, just as every other team's home form will not be 100% perfect. West Ham have already lost at home, and drawn; Boro have drawn quite a few at home scoring precious few, and Derby could not beat us at their place. Nobody is predicting that everything will go our way, home or away, for the whole season, nor that we are entitled to win every home or away game. The point is, why look for negatives when - as things stand - we have made our best start in a generation and are averaging 2 points + per game? Of course things are going to go tits up at some point, of course we will have a losing run; one would have to be a cretin of the first water not to think so. However, most people on here and who, like me, go to games believe that this team - Adkins' team - is capable of doing the business. And if we don't, well - it won't be for want of trying or great passing football, and it won't be for want of positive thought.

How is it manipulation? We are averaging more than 2 points per game. Fact. If we keep it up we will probably get promoted. Fact. If we keep winning at home and not losing (i.e drawing or winning) away we will continue to average 2 points a game at least. We may dip below 2 pts, we may bob along slightly above at times, but evtything thus far says we can average 2 pts + pet game. To say anything else would be manipulation, friend. Just because what I stated doesn't fit your negative agenda doesn't make it manipulation. Read what I originally wrote again, objectively, and come back and tell me what I was manipulating. I shan't wait up for you.

11 games, 23 points = >2 pts per game = promotion form. Keep that up and all other views or arguments are, quite frankly, irrelevant.

Merci bien. Just realised that was my 1000th post too; nice way to mark it, and another reason to be cheerful.

We are but a short time on this glorious planet. Today, our team gained a point at one of our promotion rivals and this without our best player. Enjoy that fact; enjoy the fact we are still top; enjoy your friends and family. There are so many more things to be happy about in life than unhappy.

Was Richardson injured or was it, as the PA feed suggests, tactical?

Steve Frogatt on 5 Live extra, commentating, is convinced that Derby cannot keep this level of pressure up (particularly chasing down KD and back 4 when we are in possession) and that Saints will exploit gaps in second half, late on especially. Also David Connolly used to refuse to have a mobile phone apparently.....how very twentieth century....

Off the line from Fonte!

Do you know how serious the injury is? Is it a case of NA preferring not to risk him so that he's ok for West Ham game?

Where's Buzzin Orn these days?

Comically, I misread the title thread as "Saints v Pompey at Fratton museum". Now I know things aren't good down at Nottarf Krap but really.....

Goal!!!!!

I missed the Leeds game and got a programme on eBay. Don't know if the guy sells programmes for every game but worth a go. Cost me under £3 even with P&P.....

High is the new low; I read it in Vogue.

Quite! Weston, you may need to shout a little louder!

And then there was the time Mr Nugent decided, intelligently, to send a girlfriend a picture of himself naked from his mobile phone. Who's a clever boy then....

.....and post of the day part 2.

Has it actually been confirmed anywhere official or reliable yet, or are we all just going on the website of that bastion of journalistic excellence, Talksport??

Cork was also nailed on to go to WHU if memory serves...

Not sure I wish to take seriously the words of a man who behaves like a spoilt child who has just been told 'no', and whose post-match response to the paying fans who had turned up to support QPR when they lost to Rochdale was that he was "glad to be out of the competition." Other managers may think this, but only an immature arse like Warnock would be dim enough to say it.

Has he already signed for West Ham then?
