You also said poor results. Tranmere was both a poor result and poor performance, but it is nonetheless a fact that we have had only ONE defeat in 11. Why always search for the cloud rather than the silver lining?

"recent poor results"? One defeat in what...11 games?

SSN interviewing County's Krystian Pearce.....'Krystian'? Really? Do they just allow random spellings of any name now? Jeez, no wonder things are going down the pan....

The difference between Southampton and Brighton...
InvictaSaint replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Under whom we lost 2-1 at soon to be relegated Gillingham; 2-1 at Colchester; 2-3 at home to Brighton etc, etc. What does all this prove? That managers win games, draw games and occasionally lose games. Pardew was no Messiah, and lost many games which we 'should' have won. Adkins, as I have mentioned elsewhere, has lost only 4 league games if you discount MK Dons away - the same as Poyet. If you could accuse Adkins of anything, it is that he hasn't yet turned us into the superforce many believe we should be. If he hadn't come to us 8 games or so into the season, and had been with us since last June, we might already have got to the level we aspire to. -

Discounting the MK Dons away game, which he cannot be blamed for, Adkins' Saints have lost 4 league games.....exactly the same as Poyet's Brighton. The real difference between Saints and Brighton is the 3 games where Dean Wilkins' influence was primary (Swindon, Rochdale, MK Dons) all of which we lost. -
And in 8 games time we could be second or first in that table. What matters is the league table at 5.45 pm on May 7th. At that point I will happily disect the season to see who is to blame / to be congratulated. Pointless doing anything before then (no offence to the OP with whose views I normally concur ;-) )

I can't wait to revisit this thread in May, when I sincerely believe a lot of the bed-wetters and wrist-slitters on here will be shame-faced and embarrassed at their ability to wave the white flag in February. Still, if it comes to it, at least we can count on your support at the play off final.... -
Hartlepool 0 - 0 Saints - Post Match Reaction Thread

Because you want to win every game, which is totally understandable; don't we all! The point us that football pays no attention to money spent, player status or size of club. Who would have said that Man Utd would only manage one goal against non-league Crawley? They *should* have mullerred them, shouldn't they? Hartlepool deserve greater respect; Brighton and Charlton, amongst others, have lost up there. What gives us a divine right to beat them at their place? We are no worse off tonight than we were yesterday; we still have three games in hand on Bmouth; we are maintaining a promotion-gaining points per game average, winning at home and (at least) drawing away. I just don't get all the hysteria on here tonight, as it is not based on evidence or reasoned thought. -
Sadly, I too have quite a few, including a prototype for an away shirt circa 2006, that never went into production. Also have Marian's Poppy shirt from 05-06.

Got my hair cut.

Given that we are apparently staying up north for the Hartlepool game, if I were Adkins I would get the whole squad checking out Tuesday's oppo by taking them to Hartlepool v McDons at Victoria Park today. What could be more sensible?

Snow limited to higher ground around Leeds. Greater Manchester forecast to have rain which will clear by midday. If, as another poster has intimated, they have put covers on the pitch, I can't see there being a problem.

Let's just hope we don't have to go through the playoffs...

I shall be in NYC for my 40th, so Champions or runners-up please Saints! -
I heard he liked liver, with some fava beans washed down with a nice Chianti. Anybody else hear this?

I just pray we don't have to get promotion through the play-offs; I have booked to be in New York for my 40th (yes, hard to believe I know - you'd never guess my age from my looks would you? :-)). When do I fly out?.......May 29th: League 1 play-off final date. :-(

How was it embarrassing?? We gave possibly the best home side in the league a really good game and came within seconds of getting three points, denied only by another debatable refereeing decision. Whilst giving a lead away twice is annoying to say the least, to say that we were embarrassing is juvenile beyond belief.
