  3. Is there anything less attractive in a human being than arrogance and ignorance combined? Shame on you, sir.
  4. I think your argument falls apart almost as soon as it begins. It was, and continues to be, widely reported that it was NC who brought the idea of buying the club to ML, not the other way round. Why would he therefore feel any less passionate about the job in hand now? If anything, he would feel more inclined to get us to the 'promised land' of the PL, as a lasting memorial for his friend Markus. I have met NC on two occasions, and whilst I could not claim to know his innermost thoughts, speaking to him you get a sense that this man is driven; quitting is not something he does. If he sets out to do something, it will get done. That is why I feel no less confident about our future now than I did before Markus's sad passing.
  5. He's well-travelled, that Gulliver.
  6. No, I know for a fact she's called Icantbelieveitsnot.....
  7. If memory serves, he only signed a further one year extension to his contract at Carlisle in the summer. Not that that necessarily means anything of course. Odd though...

  12. Afternoon all Have a huge favour to ask; I will be in Ste Foy la Grande, nr Bergerac, from July 31st to Aug 15th. Is there anybody in or around that area who will be watching / knows how/ where to watch Saints v Plymouth? I won't have Internet access whilst away but am happy to go to a bar / someone's house (if invited!) if anybody with local knowledge can point me in the right direction. All help gratefully received.
  13. Unequivocally, fellow Man of Kent :-)
  14. Last time I went to a friendly at Barnet, circa 1998, Mark Hughes had just signed and I saw him, Carlton Palmer and John Beresford arguing with a security guard who was refusing to let Palmer and Beresford out of the car park until they agreed to move their cars. I wonder what will happen tonight....
  15. In which case, count me in!!
  16. Do you have Saints v Southend, May 2010? (Sorry, couldn't resist!) :-)
  17. Given your username, I suppose the correct response is.... D'oh!!!
  18. Wiggy sports online have them.
  19. Am with those who feel very little when GSTQ is played. 'Abide with me' at cup finals has more of a goosebump effect. Interestingly, the lyrics of 'Jerusalem' are of course by William Blake, fervent opponent of organised religion and of the evils perpetrated by the state. 'I Vow to Thee my Country' was, musically, penned by Gustav Holst - a Brit of Latvian extraction - as part of Jupiter in the Planets suite. I would probably plump for IVTTMC if I had to, rather than that puerile subservient nonsense I generally ignore these days, but otherwise would happily see the thing disappear. Does it really have a purpose anymore, other than to stir up nationalist sentiment in a world where nations and their borders are increasingly redundant?
  20. I love Weston, Minty and Dubai Phil. There. I'm out of the closet.
  21. I had the same problem, before I realised that you have to enter your predictions and then you will appear in the league table.
  22. BBC Newsroom South-east reporting that Simeon Jackson is on his way to Norwich.
