Nixon now saying that no other bidder has, as yet, made a move and that nobody likely to match our 6.5m offer. He (Nixon) cites Thursday as being the day by which J-Rod signs or we cut loose and move on. Time will tell I suppose.....

Would make sense. I mean, if he signs a deal worth more, financially, he can always book another holiday. Not like he wouldn't be able to afford it!

Listen, I was as annoyed as the next Saints fan last night. We had a chance to give ourselves a relaxing last day in (weather gods permitting) the sunshine, but, for various reasons we couldn't take it. But it is still in our hands. Whatever our feelings about yesterday, all of us on this board are Saints through and through. We have had a BRILLIANT 48 months and stand on the cusp of a second successive promotion. Who would have predicted that in June 2009 as our administrator scrambled around desperately searching for a buyer? For the next 6 days, let's stick together; let's put aside any argument, recrimination and blame for what has gone before. Let's focus uniquely on the one and only thing that matters - pushing OUR team over the finish line. Let's stick together. We CAN do this. We WILL do this.
