  1. So are you saying that because our youth or any decent older players may be sold because other teams fancy them and we could do with the money, we should ditch the idea of a playing our youth players to keep them hidden. Maybe your answer is to fill the squad with old has beens that nobody else is interested in.
  2. A fantastic result and well done to all the 4000 supporters who made the effort and kept the faith, (wish i still lived in Alton, id of been there as well). I think the result and the performance againt probably one of the best teams in the league just goes to show what our youngsters are capable of, and with time & paitence I hope this sort of performance becomes the norm. Everyone at the club deserves a bit of credit and applause instead of all the negativity thats thrown in thier direction from certain posters from this forum. I guess thats wishful thinking because no doubt they will find something to be negative about within 24hrs, but for now A BIG FECKING UP YOURS
  3. If they made a league for clubs based on the biggest Doom & Gloom merchants and Most negative supporters, then we would sit at the top based on a fair percentage of the post on this forum. As far as a lot of you are concerned we should never have bothered even playing a game this season because you so called experts / pundits have had SFC written off as dead certs for relegation since before August....
  4. IMO Agent Arry is at work again, he know's the Skates are in Debt and are going to face financial problems because of his overspending and the ridiculous fees and wages he has given players. So he has struck a deal with Gayman, he said let me go to Spurs and I will spend all thier money and buy all the sh*te players that I have brought to Pooh Pooh Park. That will save the skates loads of money, Spurs will still go down, Agent Arry will walk out saying I had no chance of saving them.. Then he will return to spiritual home & him and Gayman will live happy ever after....
  5. Im not sure what Wayne Bridge really has to do with it, but i guess you must have your reasons for including it, probably similar reasons why you have left out other options that have had an impact on our club... So if i have to opt for any of your choices then id go with (A). However saying all of that, for me the biggest mistake was allowing the other board members to out vote him and not allow him to give the managers job to Hoddle. I like many others hated Hoddle for walking out on us for Spurs but, I was willing to accept him back. One thing im god darn sure of is that Hoddle would have made a better job of things than the fishy C **t from down the M27. Had that happened we would not have had to go through, Lowe being Ousted by the fans and those same fans falling for the anyone but Lowe crap and ending up with Wilde and his BullS**t and everything we have had to suffer ever since.... My conclusion is that a hell of a lot of people have played a part in our demise & sadly I include fans as well as Board members in that. However as they say its the responsibility of the Chairman so Yes Lowe takes the blame, but things could have been different with hindsight.
  6. are you the new alpine ?
  7. I guess i will just add a few players who had fairly decent runs in the side, yet never really set the football world alight, but all worthy of recognition from saints fans. Neil Maddison Reuben Agboola Malcolm Waldron
  8. Im not saying i agree with you but, i remeber a certain Tv Pundit a few years ago saying something similar and strongly hinting that saints had no need to leave the Dell as they never really had a True hard core fan base to fill a stadium the size of St Mary's... Mr Rodney Marsh may well have a point, as it seems the Dell would suit us right now....
  9. To be honest probably not a lot different to our years in the top flight... and before you say but we played the likes of Arsenal, Man utd etc, i also remember we played the likes of - Barnsley Brum Charlton Crystal Palace Derby Ipswich Norwich Notts Forest Sheff Weds Swansea QPR And before you say but we used to win matches in the top flight, i suggest you research our overall stats of games, WON, LOST, DRAWN... As my memory tells me we never had a fecking outstanding record in the top flight, baring a couple of seasons here and there. In fact for a while we held a tag for having the worst away record, and i think that was for the whole of the football league not just the top flight.
  10. Although i didnt see anything going off at Waterloo, i was actually in the Nags Head on this day when the CS Gas was thrown in, however by the time we got out of the Pub, there was no sign of the skates, but within in minutes the Old Bill were present. It was as if they knew it was going to happen but stayed around the corner until after the event. Any half decent crew would have stayed for a scrap, knowing that any Saints fans coming out of the pub that day would have been disadvantaged due to the CS Gas, but it just goes to show the Skates for what they are really, just fecking pretenders and wannabees.
  11. I cant believe that i missed a couple off my list Chelsea Wolves
  12. I will try to keep it as Alphabetical as i can be arsed to Aldershot (Pre season friendlies) Arsenal (Highbury) Aston Villa Blackburn Bournemouth (Pre season friendlies) Bolton Brighton Brentford Coventry Crewe Alexander Crystal palace Cardiff (Cup Final Millenium) Derby (Pride Park) Everton Farnborough (Pre season Friendlies) Ipswich Luton Leicester (Filbert Street) Leyton Orient Millwall (Old Den) Man Utd (although i admit i spent the fecking game in the cells,as i got nicked for attempting to enter a sporting arena whilst ****ed !!! was a FA Cup night game live on sky) Newcastle Norwich Notts County Notts Forest Oxford (Old ground) P****y Reading (Both Grounds) Sheff Utd Sheff Weds Sunderland (Roker Park) Swansea Swindon Town Tottenham Walsall West Brom West Ham Wembley I think thats it but many a good trip and a fair few beers drunk ! Away games used to be a far better day out than home games IMO Thats before i settled down and ended up moving away from Hampshire (Oh to be young free and single again lol)
  13. That was the announcement on radio Broadland yesterday morning, however today they are saying a local man, Jade Goody's boyfriends uncle is interested in investing in the club. Apparently he is already involved in a Prem rugby club and also has links with America. It sounded very much like it was at a very early stage, and just that he was intersted in putting forward ideas to the club if they were intersted.
  14. OMG i dont believe you can be serious, but just in case you are. It is fairly common knowledge that Lowe didnt want bagpuss here at all, he wanted Hoddle but was under pressure from the rest of the board and the fans in general, not wanting Hoddle back. Bagpuss was a knee jerk reaction, that has ultimately fecked this club up. So in answer to the main question let me think.......... er Bagpuss, saggy chops, C **t face Redcrap i think wins it by miles. Lowe may have made big mistakes along the way with some strange appointments and experiments but in general he wants this club to be a success but has known for years we cant compete financially with the big boys. Spending loads of wonga is a dangerous game if things go pear shape, just as we are now finding out. The experiment with SCW was IMO possibly, just bad timing because had we had the set up of management team like we have now, i think SCW would have been a great asset to the club and the youngsters. As for Lowe himself who had become and still is a hate figure for a lot of our fans, in a few years time he could well be looked upon as the person who helped turn this club around, and set them up for a bright future.
  15. Alpine i sort of understand what you are saying but i think, the general idea was to have a pre season mainly using the players JP expected to be left with once the season got going. The older established players that we may have been prepared to sell do not really need to be playing in the first team or in the shop window as such, they have been around long enough for other clubs to know all about them. Any player that for what ever reason we can not sell on should be capable of slotting into our first team if and when needed. As supporters i think all we can do is support the club, team and not have a far to greater expectancy of them this season, other than to hold thier own in this league this season, which they are capable of doing. Yes dream of a takeover, but dont bank on one, just get behind Lowe/Wilde etc whilst they try to avoid Administration. Obviously there will be things we wont like happening but, with support and understanding this club can overcome it.... IMO of course
  16. Here Here !!! Give these boys the fecking chance they deserve, even if they only avoid relegation by the skin of there teeth, but i dont think it will be like that. They will give thier all for the club and the shirt they wear, they will show the desire and passion we want to see. These youngsters will mature very quickly and this club will reap the rewards if they stick together. So what we may have to spend another 3 years or so in the CCC, whilst these youngsters develop and get the balance right to gain promotion, but i believe they can and will do it. When they do gain promotion they will be better equipted to survive than most clubs that get promoteed from this league. Why ? Because we wont have to go out and buy loads of players that can play decent football, because we will already have a team of footballers. Not a team of has beens, and journeymen. Let Saints be the club that beats this so called formula of bullyboy tactics and long ball merchants to get out of this league. Just give them a bloody chance
  17. can anyone tell me what odds i would get if i bet - 1 Saints will not get relegated this season 2 Saints will not go into Administration this season 3 Saints will not get takenover this season 4 Alpine will find something positive about Saints during the rest of his life
  18. I guess i can understand your brother wanting to watch football and especially wanting to take nippers to see a game, so i think its probably not that uncommon a thing to end up sort of supporting another team, but i bet his heart will still be with saints. However in my case ! I moved away from Hampshire (Alton) 5 years ago to live here in Lowestoft and have only ever been to see Norwich when Saints are there, I just cant get my head around to even thinking about going to watch them play or supporting them. My youngest boy is starting to show an interest in football so i guess i may end up having to move back to Hampshire if he asks to go and watch any live games. (fingers crossed)
