  1. Although as I'm sat here waiting for a callback re potential swine flu, I might be missing Friday as well (although sure someone will pick my ticket up for me). I would like to match last years number as a minimum, but with WGS or another big name then 12,000+.
  2. Meeting up with mates at 4:30 on Friday if you want to join us. Five renewals and two new season ticket holders amongst us;)
  3. Judging by Speculator's own assessment criteria and his past posts, then I think it's safe to say that he will be supportive of Crouch and McMenemy and be grateful for their contributions to this Club.
  4. I agree 100%. Frank continually trots out the line that many of us somehow harbour an irrational hatred of Lowe and for some reason we all think he is the devil incarnate who went out of his way to harm us and our Club. Nothing could be farther from the truth, despite his attempts to portray it as such. It is a rather ignorant and blinkered view, and conveniently ignores that for many of us our dismissiveness of Lowe and the assessment of his tenure is based on cold, hard facts and the reality of his stewardships. The vast majority recognise that he didn't set out to ruin us, but instead believed he was doing the best for the Club (and probably himself at the same time). We judge him as he wanted to be judged in this "results driven business", and against that criteris, then the overall effect of his tenure has been found wanting. As you say, making such mistakes dosnt ake him evil, but it does make him thoroughly incompetent.
  5. Have you got your dinlo calculator back from Clifford Nelson yet:D I must have blinked and missed your reply to this;) http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=370702#post370702
  6. I don't know whether you have or have not seen them, hence my asking. You seem to be in a somewhat beliggerent mood on recent days. From the several matches I saw of Leicester last season, along with the regular highlights (as Champions they were featured regularly), they were not direct. So how many games did you see?
  7. He even compared the youngsters under Poortvliet to Ferguson and the youngsters at United to a well placed fan prior to the start of the season:D With Jones, Lowe was in a no win situation and Jones should have got the boot based on his performances when all this blew up anyway. Whatever Lowe did was going to be wrong in someone's eyes.
  8. And I saw the matches on TV where they were anything but direct. They played some very good flowing and passing football. Did you see any of their matches under Pearson?
  9. Nope, but on this one I am;) Did you see any Leicester games last season?? I kept in touch with someone involved with Leicester last season, and I also had a friend who is a Foxes fan. Steve Fryatt's 30+ goals weren't a result of direct play.
  10. OK, your comments that Pearson went "direct" are misfounded. HTH
  11. Indeed it is, but your comments that Pearson went "route one" are misfounded.
  12. Whenever I watched Leicester last season I saw the majority of the team as young(ish) players playing a decent footballing style (particularly getting the ball wide). I also remember some of the Leicester fans making the same comments last October: "I have been plesantly surprised this season when we have had a back four of Powell, Tunchev, Hobbs/Morrison and Gilbert how much we've tried to pass the ball and not go route one all the while to Howard. Ok, it's used at times, but I think Pearson has made a conscious effort to make the players keep things on the deck where possible. Howard needs goals and quickly. I agree Pearson has stopped the long ball game. and I think that is why he does not play Hendo"
  13. 16. Very impressed with the Romsey part of this parade today. There was a real sense of pride and great community spirit being shown with all ages there showing their support for the troops. Without being drawn into the politics, it was a pretty patriotic occasion and something of Great Britainin the Market Place at 4:10 today.
  17. The irony is not lost on me. One minute there were no boycotters, they were just using it as an excuse not to attend, and now there were boycotters who caused all the problems. I'm confused;)
  18. And I'm sure you therefore won't mind giving Crouch credit for keeping us going when we went in to administration by stumping £££££££'s.
  19. One can only assume you have nicked Red and White Army's dinlo calculator which adds or takes away points on a whim:D Poortvliet didn't even manage a point a game, Wotte just over a point per game with Pearson bettering both of them (whether you include Plymouth away or not). Hopefully the League will use your dinlo calculator when they do the League tables come next May and give us some of your special points you seem to have awarded the Revolutionary Coaching Set Up:smt044
  20. Please don't take this post as an insult or in anyway inflammatory, but you come across really bitter over this. I do think it's time to let it go and move on. We now have something to rally behind, so until it goes tts up at some point in the future, then how about live and let live and move forward to gether. I really do think we should have moved on from blaming sections of our fanbase for our demise (and that's from all sides blaming each other). Not having a pop and not seeking to censor what should be posted etc, just think we need to leave that mindset in the past woth all the other baggage we've acquired over the last few years.
  21. I really don't think Lowe was involved with Harris, as past spats have shown there to be little love lost between the pair of them (unless either of them did a Wildesque about turn). Instead this swipe by Sale (probably fed by Lowe) against Fry is Lowe's attempt at getting back at the bloke who unceremonioulsy dumped him out of the Club (Saturday's Echo had more on that).
  22. There was a bit in The Pink on Saturday where Fry claimed that had it not been for Crouch's financial support, then he doubted we would have got through the situation. Haven't seen any mention of the interview on here (although was out of circualtion for a bit at the weekend) but would put the main bits up if it's not been covered already.
  23. I agree for your first bit in that I had no problem with the idea of bringing SCW in, my issue was more to do with the execution, timing and existing personnel at the Club. For me he was potentially right man, but definitely the wrong time. But I'm not sure we can accuse him of jumping ship as IMHO as soon as Crouch/Wilde came in, then his days were numbered. Crouch was particularly vocal about SCW at that time and Wilde's gang weren't overly welcoming either. I think he jumped before he was pushed.
  24. Like a more balanced view that gets shown up to be factually incorrect which is then followed by a period of enforced hibernation http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=370702#post370702 You're never normally that shy in coming forward:smt039
  25. You obviously know nothing about me then and seem to be judging me by your own low standards. As I said on the thread where people were mocking/bullying you, I simply just don't think it's right when start getting that personal and use an issue that you have a real life problem with in order to score cheap points. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt with regards some of the comments you have made above, as anyone who really does know me (and there are many on here) would tell you you are very wide of the mark. And I have admitted that I know little about you (turn the tables as you obviously know nothing about me if the tirades in this post are anything to go by). But that is a world away from being accused of latching on to something. You were open and honest about your mental health issues and so I wasn't revealing anything and was only responding to some rather poor efforts by a minority to persecute you. If you don't need support , then fine, but please don't jump from well intended support to the tirades you have on here. I'll cut you some slack now we know more about you, but there is a line. And as I have previously summarsed, I'm afraid the idea of taunts can only be in your own head, as my comments were always well intended. I don't know the exact details of your mental illness, but my only advice would be to stop thinking everyone is out to get you and therefore you always have to be on the attack. Look for the good in people and you'll find it. I never go in for sad songs as think they just perpetuate the moment, I much prefer uplifting and inspiratioanl songs/poems/thoughts to try and lift the gloom. I am always more than happy to rubbish your multiple identitied, trolling, antagonistic, poor posts along with your abusive and offensive PM's and pick you up for spreading rubbish and fabrications, so please spare me the lectures on where and how to post, not least as you certainly don't practice what you preach. I have never used your mental problems in order to score points, in fact I've tried to steer people away from that area, but that doesn't mean that I don't think your posts and PM's under a raft of different user names are any the less sad.
