I presume Pulis' sponsorship doesn't come wiith any strings attached, like , say, extra money for appearacnces???
-
Seems fair enough to me. You seem to think they were direct under Pearson, which although I struggle to see how you come to that conclusion from what I saw throughotu the season, is an opinion you're welcome to. I may think it's total poppycokc, but it' just as valid as mine.
-
Strange one as on one hand the Club are saying they're not standing in anyone's way as they want the manager to take the decisions, yet last week we signed Kelvin up. IMHO, there's someone in the background giving the nod (hopefully WGS).
-
Indeed they should, so when Red and White Army & Clifford Nelson get the PPG ratios of Pearson's, Wotte's and Poortvliet's tenures wrong, then they should expect to get picked up on it. That's what I mean by facts, i.e. something verifiable and undisputable (not sure what you find so hard to understand about that comment). Not at all, and as my second point says, then if you've seen the player/manager/team then you're totally entitled to your opinion. BTW how many times did you see Leicester last season?
-
Beacuse I don't take it so literally and can see and acknowledge that when the vast majority of people call Lowe a **** or whatever, it is generally a reaction to the way they felt he let the Club down. After all I don't think there is a general requirement on message boards to justify and explain every outburst of emoition. Calling him a **** or whatever on here doesn't mean they're just footballing tourettes who shout and post things without any rational thought process or any semblence of reasoning. Sometimes people will take a long time highlighting his inadequacies and errors, other times they will just refer to him as a ****. Both get the point acorss in different ways. But your continuous tone and line has been that the anti Lowe feeling is less worthy than yours and others, just because in your opinion it isn't articulated as well. It is irrational and bigotted, which couldn't be farther from the truth and in itself is rather irrational and bigotted to position to hold. There's as much merit in being short, shrift and to the point on a footballing message board. This isn't the Oxford Debating Society.
-
Have never had a problem with anyone offering up a different opinion on a player/match/manager, it's fottball after all, but, (a) if you post anything fatcual you have to get it right, i.e. points record, and (b) it helps to have seen what you're talking about.
-
He was totally ******* useless. (well actually he wasn't totally useless and he did score some goals and contribute to other games, but this is a football forum and you are allowed to be a bit industrial and forthright)
-
I can only pray it was something to do with the Davies deal, as if not, then you really have to wonder what our transfer policy was last summer and who was involved!!!! The only thing that makes me think it wasn't was that Pulis came here a fair bit later than Davies and we did have a three week or so window to find a reason to pull out.
-
Hello, this is a message board and in addition to that football is a passionate game. Expressing how you feel about a player, manager, Director or Chairman in a rather starightforward industrial manner is hardly irrational or bigotted. BWP is not exactly "totally ****** useless" i.e. he has scored a few goals and set up others, but I may have posted or shouted that at some point over the past three years!!!! I (and I'm sure many others) have rationally judged Lowe by his words, deeds and results and have reasonably come to the conclusion that on balance he was a failure (and others may have come to a totally different conclusion from exactly the same analysis, and that is their perogative). If I then go and post on a message board tha Lowe is a *****, it hardly makes my initial assessment wrong. But your overall tone (as shown on this thread and noted by others) is that the anti Lowe sentiment is generally irrational and bigotted. Get over yourself, people can rationally form their own opinion. LMFAO, so replying to a post and is stalking is it??? Guess what, there's thousands of stalkers on this forum:rolleyes:

It's the same rubbish that you've been trotting out for ages, and I've lost count of the number of times myself and others have picked you up for it. Your continual line that the majority of people's opposition to Lowe is based on nothing more than an irrational hatred for Lowe and that the anti Lowe argument is nothing more than supporters seeing him as the devil incarnate is risible. You can see everything, but the majority of those who hold a different position to you do so from a position of ignorance, hatred and bloodymindedness. Yeah dream on dinlo. Perhaps you do it so regularly that you don't even realise it. QED LMFAO, so there are literally thousands of posts where people are just blindly and irrationally hating Lowe and believe he is ogre and worse are there???? It's got nothing to do with judging him by his record, his legacy and being quite rational and objective about him then???? Of course not, only you are able to do that, and those who don't hold Lowe in such high regard only do so for reasons of blind ignorance and hatred:smt078

Technically he is, he's just not a very good one;)

If it is pig fever, then I'll need the Tamilfu today to get it within the 48 hours window. I'm not saying the new owner and set up are beyond criticism (but for saving our ar5e then I think they'll get cut quite a serious amount of slack), but I do think the emphais going forward will be on what goes on on the pitch (along with the managers performance). And with that in mind, I still think Pulis is sht, some of our yungsters overhyped and we are in desperate need for some new blood and a kick ar5e manager.

Although as I'm sat here waiting for a callback re potential swine flu, I might be missing Friday as well (although sure someone will pick my ticket up for me). I would like to match last years number as a minimum, but with WGS or another big name then 12,000+.
-
Meeting up with mates at 4:30 on Friday if you want to join us. Five renewals and two new season ticket holders amongst us;)
-
Judging by Speculator's own assessment criteria and his past posts, then I think it's safe to say that he will be supportive of Crouch and McMenemy and be grateful for their contributions to this Club.
-
I agree 100%. Frank continually trots out the line that many of us somehow harbour an irrational hatred of Lowe and for some reason we all think he is the devil incarnate who went out of his way to harm us and our Club. Nothing could be farther from the truth, despite his attempts to portray it as such. It is a rather ignorant and blinkered view, and conveniently ignores that for many of us our dismissiveness of Lowe and the assessment of his tenure is based on cold, hard facts and the reality of his stewardships. The vast majority recognise that he didn't set out to ruin us, but instead believed he was doing the best for the Club (and probably himself at the same time). We judge him as he wanted to be judged in this "results driven business", and against that criteris, then the overall effect of his tenure has been found wanting. As you say, making such mistakes dosnt ake him evil, but it does make him thoroughly incompetent.
-
Have you got your dinlo calculator back from Clifford Nelson yet:D I must have blinked and missed your reply to this;) http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=370702#post370702

I don't know whether you have or have not seen them, hence my asking. You seem to be in a somewhat beliggerent mood on recent days. From the several matches I saw of Leicester last season, along with the regular highlights (as Champions they were featured regularly), they were not direct. So how many games did you see?
-
He even compared the youngsters under Poortvliet to Ferguson and the youngsters at United to a well placed fan prior to the start of the season:D With Jones, Lowe was in a no win situation and Jones should have got the boot based on his performances when all this blew up anyway. Whatever Lowe did was going to be wrong in someone's eyes.
-
And I saw the matches on TV where they were anything but direct. They played some very good flowing and passing football. Did you see any of their matches under Pearson?
-
Nope, but on this one I am;) Did you see any Leicester games last season?? I kept in touch with someone involved with Leicester last season, and I also had a friend who is a Foxes fan. Steve Fryatt's 30+ goals weren't a result of direct play.
-
OK, your comments that Pearson went "direct" are misfounded. HTH
-
Indeed it is, but your comments that Pearson went "route one" are misfounded.
-
Whenever I watched Leicester last season I saw the majority of the team as young(ish) players playing a decent footballing style (particularly getting the ball wide). I also remember some of the Leicester fans making the same comments last October: "I have been plesantly surprised this season when we have had a back four of Powell, Tunchev, Hobbs/Morrison and Gilbert how much we've tried to pass the ball and not go route one all the while to Howard. Ok, it's used at times, but I think Pearson has made a conscious effort to make the players keep things on the deck where possible. Howard needs goals and quickly. I agree Pearson has stopped the long ball game. and I think that is why he does not play Hendo"

Poll: Would you be happy for Pearson to be our manager?
