What do you know, Sidney. Anything not already obvious to most of us?

I think the position of a majority of Saints support in the aftermath of RH being sacked was that we had a young side with promise, but with clear limitations and gaps in terms of quality. RH was out of ideas and there was a need to refresh and recharge. Happens in football and business and Ralph had a good innings. We weren't adrift and with the right appointment just prior to the world cup break there was a cause for optimism. Selles taking charge against Liverpool did OK. Plenty of time for finding feet and setting up the side during the extended break (almost a close season), with the kindest run of fixtures in the calendar in December / January and a transfer window to come. I know it's only two games, but fucking hell we look like an absolute nightmare under NJ, nothing against the man, but looks like a fish up a tree at this level! For what it's worth I don't think that Sport Republic have any appetite whatsoever for admitting error or incompetence so it's going to play out. But as matters progress and tensions rise they will dress this up as part of their visionary masterplan, whilst throwing Nathan Jones to the dogs and likely flushing Saints down the shitter!

I wouldn’t! Even on a freezing night after 15 pints In Rhyl! I would however phone for a taxi…

Just been having a look through some of the comments from Brighton fans who were at SMS yesterday, and aside from the anticipated gloating, their views seem to echo many of ours. Lots of references to Jones appearing out of his depth, the team looking unfit and formation chaotic. This in assessment of an ex player and coach who made over 150 appearances for their club.

As good a visual metaphor as any for the Sport Republic approach!

I was looking forward to the transfer window opening as light at the end of the tunnel. With Jones the Steam on the footplate I’m now shitting myself that it’s a train coming!

And invisible on the park too!

Whereas in the Turkish second division it’s a piece of piss! 😂

The masked singer Saints edition!

Alternatively possess a competent and credible board of directors.

This, it’s glaring already, as tragic as that is - I actually think Nathan Jones already knows even if some of his sopporters are in denial. Lincoln out-thought, out-fought and outplayed us and should have beaten us at home, Brighton made us look like a league one side and could have done us 5-0 plus if they hadn’t taken their foot of the gas - at home, in front of a full house on Boxing Day. Talk of Jones taking us down to bring us up again is utterly bizarre, if any business model involved voluntary destruction of its service or product status to achieve less in a three year cycle the board would be sectioned.

I lot of Saints supporters have been mentioning ‘Jesus Christ’ a great deal, ever since NJ was appointed.

Dawn of the Dead! 🍆🍆🍆

Hopefully Bazuna, Mara, and Larios for starters, although no guarantee they’d get games.

Wish no ill will on Jones at all, he seems an honest, earnest man trying to earn a living and get on. He should never have been given the Saints job, it looked a suicidal appointment to me, and many on here as well as neutrals. If he’d been made reserve coach most of us would have shrugged. Poor bastard looked shell-shocked and exasperated in the post match interviews today. But it’s our club on the slab. This is on Sports Republic and Semmens, manifesting as a masterclass monks-chain of passive agressive bullshitting.

Can we recall Angus Gunn for some experience and stability?
-
The pedigree of Sports Republic is based on the stellar ascendency of Brentford. It may have been a smart move for Rasmus & Co. to look for stability before putting their naive faith, and a slice of Dragan’s dough, in the Tweenies. If you think about the hard times supporting saints in the top flight, fighting relegation in a 15k ground under Branfoot, Merrington and Jones there were still high points, committed players with character who could raise the spirits, have a right fucking go. Fans critical but relatively united in backing the side in 90 mins. As others have said the current dirge seems to have set in post Poch, and feels relentless by comparison. If we go down it’s going to be very hard to regroup and rebuild our club. What an abject fucking mess!

Feels like a honeymoon with Oscar fucking Pistorius!

Shuddered when I saw the team sheet. Looked like he’d picked a side for one half of an early pre-season friendly. Nothing at stake. With such limited quality and experience leaving any of it on the bench is inept. Right now Sports Republic feels very much like the Lowe and Cowan regime and experience, a narcissistic closed group who believe their own hype - that ends in a dark place for the club that we follow. If I was Dragan I’d be getting twitchy.

Reach out if you’re struggling Nat…

Those running the club think that positive action is instructing a designated goon to turn up the PA at half time and full time to drown out booing home supporters. The board, manager and coaches, plus players look way out of their depth to be competitive at this level. I think a majority of the fans can see the writing on the wall at the moment. The unique luxury of a month with the players and a kind establishing run of games for NJ in December / January and the side don’t appear to have a formation, drive or purpose. Two or three token signings aren’t likely to save us in the Prem, we should have lost to Lincoln and been hammered by Brighton - shit show!

Rock bottom, absolute dogshit.

Think some of us may have been a bit hard on Paul Sturrock!

We desperately need a win today on all kinds of levels. However, should we win I hope Sport Republic don’t see any leeway and momentum gained as an opportunity to think they are unique enough to game this critical window. Ever since their cardinal error in the summer we’ve been short of competence and threat up front, I am hoping to see a number of arrivals to give Nathan Jones some genuine options and inject character early in January.
