  1. If they can't meet their CVA obligations, won't that put them back into administration?
  2. My little grandson, who is an expert on all things breakfasty, rates chocolate weetabix at no.1
  3. So the ugly old rich men aren't 'paying for it' by giving rocks and nice surprises? But I do agree with you about your implication about the women. I suppose they have to cash in whilst they're young and pretty since the old and rich will discard them for a newer model once they're past their sell-by date. Sad.
  4. Or - it ain't what you do, it's the fact that you can pay for it?
  5. I've got Irish ancestors. But I don't go out and get trollied on St Patrick's Day.
  6. But we're all related to everybody in the end.
  7. I thought June LIKED Call Me Dave?
  8. I allowed myself a slight smile.
  9. He's very charismatic, isn't he? I wish our politicians could so easily get down and dirty with 'ordinary' people. It's effortless with him - it's so contrived with ours.
  10. BBC now naming Giggs - rather they're reporting that Giggs has been named in the House of Commons. Superinjunction? You're 'avin' a larf!
  11. Gareth Barry lives in Manchester, doesn't he?
  12. So far, it doesn't say. I just assumed it was the Welsh one. UPDATE - it IS the Welsh one. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13503847
  13. Tough one - must be their sense of humour. I mean, he's not got to be a millionaire by being unable to think things through you would have thought.
  14. He's just been named in the House of Commons by a Liberal MP. No link up yet.
  15. I'm often amazed at the number of really pretty young girls who hook up with ugly old men!
  16. Seriously, TDD, and with the kindest of intentions, I hope you find that you sleep better if you do cut down on your drinking. Alcohol does cause sleep problems, honestly. (see the link I posted on your 'sleeping' thread).
  17. It's only affecting local (to Iceland) flights, isn't it? I'm relieved it's not going to affect our car journey to Norfolk
  18. I did 'give' my mother a donation to fund a school teacher in an African country for her birthday a few years ago (always a toughie towards the end of her days). She was absolutely delighted and I wish I'd done something like that before.
  19. You can watch them all at the same time on the red button.
  20. We gave a couple an adopted monkey for a wedding present. We didn't get a thankyou letter.
  21. ^^^ I suppose it depends on where the ultimate vested interests lie. Have people at the very top been taking backhanders. If so, and this is exposed, where would it leave the game? Would there be a fury and backlash or, as is often the case, supporters will be happy if THEIR club is alright jack and sod the rest? Where does Sky fit into the overall picture? I think Poopey is a mere pawn in a huge game going on.
  22. What is the situation with the Russians and Saab exactly? I only ask because there's a very interesting article about Saab in today's Observer http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2011/may/22/saab-rescued-by-chinese-deal Bits in there about Spyker (parent company).
  23. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-13486698
  24. I would ask the same question, Nick. My mother's quality of life was very poor at the end (she also had diabetes and had lost her sight as a result of this). So, she was blind, and could hardly move. She was taking drugs for leukaemia that made her sick. She, herself, questioned the idea of taking very expensive drugs to prolong a life of comparitively poor quality. In the end she stopped taking them - and died. It could be argued that the cost of her treatment was a waste. But there's the other end of the story too. These days, babies can survive at 23 weeks gestation. That's fantastic. But those babies, more often than not, have a host of medical complications that cost a fortune to deal with (sometimes to no avail). Is that money also wasted? It's a huge moral dilemma and one I'm thankful I don't have to make a judgement on.
