  1. TDD - how long have you had tunnel vision? You seem able only to read and understand parts of what people are posting. Do yourself a favour, mate. As ESB says - read the links. They may well discredit your point of view but at least you'll have a more rounded knowledge.
  2. TDD - that's a daft question, if I might say so. Have you actually read anything about this condition? Have you read the very insightful post by Sydney Saint? Obviously not - I suggest you do, you might then be able to understand how an adult with this disorder can be 'rational' one minute and not rational the next. You owe it to yourself to try to understand the man. I can think of lots of people who travel the world, as you put it, who apparently don't know right from wrong. These include some politicians, some so-called 'celebrities', some others who obviously can't distinguish between right and wrong (e.g. football hooligans, criminals who live abroad, paedophiles, rapists - the list goes on).
  3. He was an adult who, on the face of it, was capable of looking after himself. There are lots of people with varying degrees of mental illness - are you suggesting that anyone with any sort of mental illness should be forcibly detained? People with bi-polar disorder can be quite 'normal' (what ever that is) at one moment and not at the next. Think Spike Milligan, Stephen Fry etc. From what I've read, I believe his disorder increased in severity following the break-up of his marriage some years ago.
  4. It might be worth reading this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/dec/28/akmal-shaikh-execution-china-mental-illness If you do bother to read it all the way through you will see that, apparently, the poor man had absolutely no idea of what was really going on. According to this, he had no idea he was being used as a mule. Desperately sad
  5. Well said
  6. I was behind one of his Lowe & Oliver vans the other day - so that company is still in business.
  7. There ARE some decent people out there who support PFC. Mr TF is one of them. Oh we enjoy lively banter and sarcasm about each other's clubs but he was genuinely concerned for us in our 'hour of need' and he is desperately worried about his club. More than the demise of PFC, I wonder what the inevitable administration and journey down the plug hole will mean for the reputation and conduct of the Premier League in the weeks and months ahead.
  8. It occurred to me yesterday that Gaydamak may be waiting for them to go into admin so he can pick up FP for pennies. That way he'll own the ground and its surroundings = a much greater area for redevlopment. And so the club will die - no ground, no assets.
  9. Well done my cuddly boy! QED eh?
  10. It's not usual to have net curtains at the window of an industrial unit unless........
  11. Well done all you guys (and gals????). Didn't we have holly and mistletoe last year on the banner? xx
  12. Wouldn't a shot glass be more appropriate?
  13. One of my daughters saves some in the fridge to eat cold next day. Now I do draw the line at that.
  14. Hope my son-in-law doesn't think Aaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhh when we turn up tomorrow Probably not, as he and I join forces to goad Mr TF about Poopey.
  15. I don't get the last paragraph in the Telegraph piece: "Fratton Park has been used as security against a loan from Chainrai's Portpin Ltd after a previous mortgage from Singer and Friedlander taken against the ground was settled in Novermber. Fratton Park has been used as security against a loan from Chainrai's Portpin Ltd after a previous mortgage from Singer and Friedlander taken against the ground was settled in Novermber. " How can this be - I thought Gaydamark owned Fratton Park
  16. And do enough to make Bubble and Squeak to go with cold cut the next day
  17. Not really an annoying OFFICE phrase - just a bloody annoying phrase: 'It'll be ready immediately' - 'Good, good'. One 'good' is enough IMO. I, too, shudder when I hear 'going forward', 'stakeholders' and 'having a conversation with' (why not plain old 'talking to' FFS)
  18. The first debate will be hosted by ITV's Alastair Stewart, the second by Sky's Adam Boulton and the third by the BBC's David Dimbleby. However, the other option would be funny
  19. I think I've loved all the Guinness adverts (I can't stand the stuff either). And one of the ones that came in the top 3 - the Honda advert - was pretty darned good too.
  20. Off at a slight tangent - Watford's Board all resigned tonight at their AGM. Probably for financial reasons - shame if it was because they weren't paid what they were owed.
  21. You'd get married in Hush Puppies
  22. BBC South Today have just reported that one of the Poopey 'fans' groups' have expressed 'no confidence' in the Board. Portsmouth FC have made no comment
  23. And the Team of the Year award was a joke too. The England (male) cricket team? When the England (female) cricket team won everything in the world? Sexist sports journos IMO
  24. But Robbie Williams is OK
  25. I like Alan Smith
