LOL is that an intentional comparison?

I cut mould off bread and use it for toasting. I also make stale bread into breadcrumbs or bread pudding. I rely on my nose to tell me if milk is still useable. A bit of bacteria never did anyone any harm.

Or her - he's mingin' too!

Interesting take on this subject in the Guardian today: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2009/nov/05/poppy-appeal-premier-league

You should have found a fat man (one of your friends perhaps?) for her. There are probably plenty on here. -

Oh ****! I was just reading out some of this to Mr TF and now he won't shut up! Wittering on about something called a 'multiverse' -
I understood that MU were going to auction today's shirts and the proceeds would go to a forces charity.

I did Latin at school and I've found it helps me understand and read a bit of Spanish and Italian although I can't speak it (apart from asking for a beer, coffee, 'where is' etc).

Not very long TBH. It was after I'd finished my A levels. In those days, you weren't allowed to hang around town once your exams were over. You had to still keep going to school It was either Russian or binary maths IIRC! A few years ago my son was studying at Athens University and I went to stay with him. He was good at reading and speaking Greek because he'd lived there for a while. He would only let me have a coffee / wine if I correctly read a Greek word or two first. I was severely dehydrated, staying with him But strangely, I can read it more now than I did then

Someone dot, dot, dot dash, dash, dashing on your eyeballs?

I've learnt Greek and Russian (well, tried to) in the past and have struggled with the alphabet. I think conversation classes are a good way to learn - after all that's how we all learn to talk in the first place!

No - he had been a cabinet maker and his pay as Regional Secretary increased at the same rate as a master craftsman. He did get a 'company' car though - but that was because he had to travel throughout the south of England on union business.
-
TBF JB he was a leader. A Regional Secretary is a very senior full-time official. He had been earmarked as a future General Secretary.
-
I don't think it's right to generalise like this, JB. My ex-husband was a full-time official (Regional Secretary) for a Trade Union. I can assure you that the LAST thing he was was a power-hungry individual only looking out for himself. He most definitely cared very much about his members, their rights and addressing their issues.

It's always said that you (generally, not you GS) only appreciate something when you can no longer have it.

If F.A.R.T was an acronym what would it stand for?

Ohhhh we should have a 'what was your first record purchase' thread! Mine was 'Only the Lonely' by Roy Orbison But I do remember a bunch of us 6th formers miming to 'The Ying Tong Song' at the end of term concert. I vaguely remember I wore a colander on my head! -
The way I see it, the ONLY way they can continue is if someone buys the debt and writes it off. Then, starting from zero, they can rely on their Sky money (for as long as they're in the Premiership) and their gates. I know that the Sky money at the start of the season was used to pay off some debt. Is any of the January Sky money ring-fenced in a similar fashion? Their gates are so low as to make no real impact on their income. It's difficult to see how, even if their debt is written off, they can continue to pay wages etc. Their business plan is doomed. Or am I missing something?
