I have just re-read some of the posts from the beginning of this thread - May 23 before Martin was appointed. The warning signs were writ large, even then. What we did was exchange one (overly) committed follower of a belief system for another.

I started to laugh at this, but the laughter turned to tears. The man is an utter <expletive deleted>.

It won’t be in there, but I was rather hoping there might be a clause in his contract that withholds his salary for all the time he is unavailable for selection due to needless sendings off.

Yes, but was he 'everywhere' (good) or 'all over the place' (not so good)? Personally I'd go for the former. Think we have a very promising young lad there, strong as a bear and his positional sense will improve with time, coaching and experience

When you are trying to push Theo into a leadership role, then you know you are in trouble! Prime reason we finished where we did last season; lots of individually talented players but a distinct lack of grit, spine, and leadership.

Grieves me to say it because I like him as a player, but I think you've hit the nail on its head there. JWP and leadership should never be used in the same sentence unless the intervening words are 'has no', and leadership is followed by 'skills'.

We'd get the same reaction from Bielsa that Everton did. He's about changing culture and growing a team over the long term in his image. Unless we're accepting that we're already down and looking to appoint a manager to bring us back up then Bielsa is not the man.
