Neither have played anywhere near enough games to make a fair assessment on. They should be in the too early to tell group, but apart from that I agree with the rest.
-
Im liking this. Only change I'd make is McCarthy for Willy. Break him back into the starting lineup and then start him at the weekend ahead of Baz

Up your bums Ant and Dec

Theres two positions you cant gamble with youth - GK and CB. At least with CB you can partner them with some experience and play a low lying DM to add some protection. For GK, you're on your own and every mistake is magnified. Confidence can be destroyed in a matter of games, as we seen with Gunn before. Even when the likes of United or Arsenal have relied on youth in the past, it's always been RB, LB, LW, RW or CF. You cant put them in the firing line at GK or CB. Said before I had no issue with Bazunu being signed to learn under a proper no1, but he should never have been thrust in as no1 himself. We should have went for somebody like Leno in the summer. Hes made a big difference at Fulham

Relegation - What two teams do we take with us
woodsaint1 replied to Lee On Solent Saint's topic in The Saints
It'll be Bournemouth and Leeds I reckon. Would love to see Everton finally dropping out just in time for their move to their new swanky, over priced stadium -
Standard jekyll and hyde responses on here. Last week he was our own Pep, this week hes suddenly clueless. For me hes somewhere in the middle but needs more games before we can give a fair assessment. I certainly dont envy him trying to get a turn out of this bunch of frauds (JWP, KWP and Lavia aside)
-
Honestly dont know how you've reached that assessment. As for over-animated, you would be moaning if he just sat in the dugout. What do you want him to do? Hes on the sideline trying to get the best out of the team like 90% of managers - hardly trying to look the part
-
Stephens and Bednarek proving the last two weeks what we've known for so long.....that every donkey has its day
-
Just watching the goal again....where do you even start with that. So many mistakes in the space of 4 seconds
-
Yep, good ol' Saints. To think somebody stuck a confused emoji on the initial post 😂

Pathetic performance. We barely had a go against another team in desperate form, thats unforgiveable. Even worse than some of the performances our favourite guy from the valleys oversaw. Its like 2 steps forward (after Chelsea) and then 3 steps back for Selles. But he did take ownership of the performance which is something. At least more of our fans are finnally coming to the realisation that we're heading for the drop, its only been on the cards for about the last 9 months... Fed up of players coming out pretty much every week with the same shite "we weren't good enough" "we need to do better" "we'll learn from it and do better next week". Too fucking late, yous have had ample opportunities to improve and its the same dross dished up week after week.

Wouldnt matter, we dont get the ball into threatening positions to even give our strikers a chance
-
Exactly, first game against the team bottom of the league. Leeds fans have ridiculous expectations too. Wouldnt use the word toxic, but if we get in front the atmosphere will become tense
-
If the injuries that Leeds reportedly have is true, then we need to be winning this. Would bring KWP back in, and possibly Salisu, although I wouldnt be surprised to see Janny B starting again. 2-1 Saints - S Armstrong and Tall Paul

Its not putting a dampner on things, its describing what we've seen in pretty much all of our away wins against top sides for as long as I can remember. For teams like us, we need to take our limited chances, defend extremely well and we will ride our luck at times. Spurs away last season was the last time and it was exactly the same. Did you expect us to go away to Chelsea, who've just spent a gazillion pounds and control the game for 90 minutes? We were superb in the first half, but Chelsea were always going to come onto us in the second half and there would also come a point where we would try and preserve what we had and sit deeper. Chelsea will dominate most teams in this league for long spells at Stamford Bridge as they have the players to do so. The most encouraging thing for me was the commitment in our defending, throwing our bodies on the line and how much it meant to make a big defensive play. That was night and day to what we've seen this season where teams waltzed through us without us even putting a glove on them

Leeds havent won in the league since the start of November.... We all know what happens next
-
Selles will go up another notch if (fitness permitting) he replaces Janny B and AMN with Salisu and KWP next week. Yes both were solid today, but if fit, Salisu and KWP are one of the first names on our team sheet. Hopefully get Che back in the squad too. As frustrating as he is, hes much more of a threat off the bench than Walcott
-
That should be the instruction to Selles - win at Leeds and the job is yours until the end of the season. Will be a big motivator and added incentive for him to put everything into this game, which he'll be doing already
-
Especially last week. A draw would likely have still got Jones the sack, but we couldnt even manage that. Bournemouth even managed to beat Wolves. Results could have been more favourable for us today, but we started the day 5 points off safety, and now its down to 3. Small gains 👊🏻
-
Quite alot of the pre match comments now look embarrassing, mines included 😂. Selles knew what he was doing. I've missed you MOTD but you'll be getting some attention tonight
-
Dont scud us fs
-
Did some posters on here not guarantee 100% that Bednarek would be nowhere near the starting lineup 😂😂
-
Hes not 25+ though is he. Offers alot more than Moi

Coming back from injury
