Would have preferred NES, but not sure he was a realistic option for us. Marsch is still a great appointment for a Championship club, which is what we will be in 2/3 months
-
While we're seeing what Adkins is doing these days, we should also give Strachan a call 😂
-
N'Lundulu was pretty dreadful
-
Pretend we're considering Wilder, Lampard, Rooney, Allardyce etc, so when we do announce Marsch, it looks like a good appointmemt Ankersen:
-
Wtf is this. Ravel Morrison, Christian Benteke and Brandon Williams? The Sun do themselves no favours at times 😂
-
Does Ankersen just draw up a shortlist of one person when making managerial appointments? I know we're hardly attractive right now, but I'm feeling very underwhelmed. Its bad when people are having to use Jones' tenure as the yardstick for justifying Marsch
-
If you've pulled that from wiki then it includes cup games. His PL record is played 32, won 8, drew 9 and lost 15. 33 points. Just over a point a game 😕
-
Just shows what confidence and good coaching/organisation can do for this team. Ralph had us really firing during that spell, the win away to Spurs was one of the best attacking performances from us in recent years. Would love to see a managerial appointment which gets an immediate response from the team

Yes I'm fully aware of all the work that continually goes on in the background and phone/in person conversations will have been had etc. But are there any formal interviews to understand whether our preferred candidate is indeed the best candidate for the job. If there are, I very much doubt all those interviews have already taken place. Or does Ankersen just take them for their word "yes I've spoken to him, hes interested, lets move now". Perhaps if we had've drilled down into Jones a bit more, the red flags would have been evident
-
Um....in case you didnt know, we track alot of managers for an extended period of time. We dont just start suddenly looking at them when we need a replacement. The out of depth muppet wouldnt have been the only one we were tracking. What I mean is Ralph was sacked and we jumped in record time to appoint Jones. Perhaps we should take a breath and weigh up all possible options, before appointing Marsch
-
Are we going to consider/interview a few candidates or are we just going straight to appointing Marsch? If we've learnt our lessons, we should really exercise due diligence before appointing the next manager
-
Lyanco would be delighted with that 😂
-
Nuno won the Championship at a canter with Wolves. Experience which will be vital next season. He has a nice cushy job in Saudi Arabia at the moment, although did speak with Wolves about a return before they brought in Lopetegui
-
As much as Marsch might be an ok appointment, our squad would hardly be inspired by somebody who has just got the sack from one of our relegation rivals. And our shithouse squad desperately needs inspired
-
Would also scare the shit out of season ticket sales for next season 😂
-
Got a funny feeling its going to be Nuno. Spurs was too big a step but he done a fantastic job at Wolves. Going from Spurs to the Championship would be a big drop off, but he might be persuaded
-
No I meant I could see him at a Cardiff or Rotherham or Reading etc midway through next season when they sack their manager. Yes hes failed miserably in the PL, but some lower half championship teams will take a punt on him
-
For good reason. Went back to Rangers as a club legend, got them to the EL final which was a superb achievement no doubt. But then this season the fans couldnt wait to the see the back of him. Apparently the quality of football fell off and rapidly. Gerrard achieved more than him
-
Ask Roy Keane does he fancy it for the rest of the season, and while he's here he can stick the boots on and play DM
-
Unless Dragan steps in, he'll be central to choosing our next manager unfortunately
-
Can see him getting a job at a struggling Championship club next season and us meeting again 😂
-
Absolutely not. We're down, lets face it. Fat Sam and any of the other 'break glass in case of emergency' managers are not keeping this team up. If we cant get our preferred long term target in now, then put somebody in interim charge until the summer when we can. Depressing to think what shortlist Ankersen will come up with
-
1 win in 14, albeit against Pompey. For all the shit that Redknapp gets (alot of it deserved), if we had've got rid of Wigley when we should have we would have stayed up
