Remember the excitement on the Orsic signing thread. No doubt theres a very good player in there given his exploits in the CL and on the international stage. But it reflects badly on our recruitment team that we signed somebody who doesnt seem ready for the PL nor a good fit for our style of play. Jones got widely criticised for not playing him and now Selles isnt playing him either. There must be an underlying fitness issue or an inability to grasp our press and style of play. Hopefully he'll return to the first team fold and prove his worth, but early signs are not good

But I've every faith in this team losing those games we need to win - Bournemouth (H), Fulham (H), Palace (H), Brentford (H), Forest (A), West Ham (A) etc. Can see Brighton relegating us with a game to spare and that would be painful

Mitro was pretty desperate in the PL when they came up last time, but hes been much better this season. I think the common theme is that all three you've listed are playing or played in decent teams, playing good attacking football under a good manager. Che has done alright for us up to this season and we've been absolute turgid as a team during AA's near two seasons here. Not defending him, but playing in a strong attacking team, high on confidence makes a world of difference. Perhaps a season in the Championship with strikers banging them in is just what we need

We were in a great run of form when we played them at OT last season - Che and Broja were an absolute handful. It really started to go to shit after that. Che's hold up play was pretty good against Leicester and it could be a favourable matchup against Martinez. Would like to see him and Tall Paul together but its unlikely. Bednarek back at OT for us also gives me bad vibes. During the Pellegrino/Hughes season I dreaded the prospect of us being relegated. But now I'm completely at ease with it. VAR is a shambles at times. Its still subjective and still makes the mistakes that officials used to....but with a three minute delay to find out. The money being thrown about by Chelsea, the financial breaches by City and even Bournemouth beating top La Liga and Serie A sides to sign players just shows how absurd the money in the PL has become. There needs to be better regulation. Most of all our run in the PL has completely stagnated. We desperately need a reset and yes theres no guarantee we'll have a complete turn around and return to the PL a rejuvenated team like Burnley or Fulham, but at least we can start again without some of the shite thats clogging up our squad, give a chance to some of the youth players tearing it up at u18 and u23 level and hopefully appoint a manager who has us playing exciting football (that still might be Selles). And the clincher....playing different teams each week and the prospect of bettering our current season win rate of about 20% (not guaranteed but I'm hopeful)

Lavia played as expected and I wasnt surprised to see Mara or AA with the injury to Che. The 3 players you've rightly highlighted shouldnt be anywhere near our team, but the remaining 8 would have been in most peoples starting 11. Regardless of what team was selected, we should be beating Grimsby comfortably
