Wasnt sure what to make of JWP possibly returning. Perhaps Walcott and more recently Romeu have left me scarred. But if we're replacing Charles with JWP (and Jander stays) and we're making a big profit then I'm happy with that. He's still a good player and has always been super fit. We were close to the best team in the league from January onwards with Downes/Jander/Charles/Bragg in CM. We're replacing the player who didnt play that much (and I'm a big Charles fan) with a player with significant experience who will give everything for the club

Because he has nearly 200 PL appearances, was the Arsenal number 1 and an England international for a while. Yes clubs will know we're looking rid and will try to haggle us down, but hes a very good keeper and there is a need for that. Understand us loaning him last season as he could have come back into fold had we got promoted. But now we've Peretz, it makes no sense to agree to any loan. Need to sell, even if that means we only get 15m

Why not, he done ok at Newcastle and could be a starter for a few PL teams. No incentive for the club to loan him again and his value depreciate futher. Best to sell him, especially now we've got Peretz and £20m would be the going rate for a keeper with significant PL experience. Hes only 28 too

We need to cash in on a few players with value. If that needs to be Charles then so be it. I think hes a better player than Downes and scored some crucial goals for us, but then Downes isnt going to get us £25m+

Yes he did well the second half of last season, but lets not forget that he missed nearly 2 and a half seasons with bad injuries. Probably a blessing in disguise that he hasn't taken us up on the extension offer. It frees us up to bring in a new striker and hopefully Spors can identify strike gold again (yes I know Downes was a disaster but hes done well with Scienza, Jander, Larin and Peretz). Going into next season with a new striker, Larin and Archer, supported in attack by the likes of Scienza 🤞🏼, Azaz, Matsuki etc is a Championship promotion team on paper.

You'd hope that selling Ramsdale (25m), THB (20m) and Charles (20m), as well as releasing the likes of McCarthy, Romeu, Smallbone, Taylor, Aribo etc should give us more than enough financial breathing space for next season. If theres a god, we would also sell Bazunu, Sugawara, Brereton Diaz and Downs - although loans might be more likely. Think we should do whatever it takes to keep Scienza, Azaz and Jander. Build the team around them. Also resign Bree, Stewart and Larin if possible. Then its a case of adding two new GKs and a new CB. Simples* * if half the playing squad isnt actively looking to leave

We arent keeping our best players unfortunately. They'll be royally fucked off with how the season ended. THB, Scienza, Jander and probably Charles will all be sold. Peretz returning to Bayern too. We might have a chance of signing Larin, but then whoever is next in charge may not fancy him
