Will get even worse towards the end of the season. Do you think he's going to risk a bad injury when hes about to go in the shop window.
-
Roma were reportedly interested, but we turned their offer down (£8 million)
-
We start by identifying our next manager to get us promoted from the Championship. Based on performances so far, it isnt Juric. Imo it also isnt Rohl. If he wasnt Ralph's former assistant, he wouldnt even be on our radar. With Spors in position, we also start identifying a list of players who can help us get promoted, but more importantly provide the foundations for a team capable of avoiding relegation the next time we come up. Too much loyalty was shown to players who failed in the PL before, so the clear out needs to begin
-
Hardly inspiring getting beat by Burnley's second string. Doesnt bode well if Juric is to be kept on next season. Yes, by then it could be a completely new team to suit his system, but playing four full backs is desperate stuff
-
The disaster for a long time was the result of not appointing a replacement and instead promoting from within. Hopefully we've learnt our lesson
-
He'll come in, advise on some good signings, we'll begin to improve and then he'll be poached by a bigger PL club. Thats the model isnt it? Be better to start identifying his replacement now

Summer 24 for me. January 23 we were in desperation mode in an attempt to rescue our season and were frantically trying to recruit players to suit NJ's needs. Plus the January window is always more difficult to do business. Hence why it was a shit show. Summer 24 we can have no excuses. We were riding a high from the previous season and had a settled management. Also for most of the Championship season, we were more likely than not going to get promoted, therefore we should have had a range of suitable targets identifed months in advance of the window opening. Imo it wasnt an awful window.....we were committed to signing THB and Downes, plus Ramsdale was essential. Fernandes has turned out a great signing, but theres £75m spent already. It just felt that we were leaving ourselves short in terms of a budget for a striker (not for the first time). Hence why we ended up signing Archer and BBD for £24m combined. Thats just not going to cut it at PL level
-
In the summer please can we finally rid ourselves of the likes of McCarthy, Stephens, Bednarek, ABK and Smallbone. They're like a bad smell now. I could see us selling Dibling, Ramsdale, Sulemana, BBD and Onuachu, but would be hopeful that we could hold onto the likes of Fernandes, THB and Archer - who could be great assets in the Championship. New GK Suga THB Wood/Edwards Welly Downes New CM New RM Fernandes Edozie/New LM New CF

53 pages......and really nothing worth mentioning
-
Pants pulled down. What do we expect, we've had no DoF for nearly a year now. Those responsible for recruitment may as well be pissing in the wind
-
Has to be a Gotekpe signing
-
Bit extreme. He cost us a whopping £5m and while his attitude and performances have been lacking at times during his 7/8 years here, it hasnt been a bad return (even just for last season alone). The avatar for our atrocious recruitment is Guido Carillo or Ross Stewart

Getting Jankewitz vibes with this one. A young player who showed lots of promise, but ultimately the club decided to cash in. Many fans were annoyed at the time but it never worked out for the fella. Hope for SAA's career sake he does well. I would hope that Juric has had a say on this. Also worth remembering that we have Edozie back in the summer
-
Reading that Lazio were hoping to sign him, but now he seems to be coming to us (not sure why 😂)
-
MOTD getting bucked tonight......probably only the third time this season

Bournemouth is the perfect case study. Evanilson was their big price signing in a position that demands it - £35m. They also spent £25m on Tyler Adams and £22m on Sinisterra from Leeds. But in that £20m and below range they have made some very astute signings in the last few windows - Zabarnyi - £20m Outtara - £20m Kerkez - £16m Huijsen - £14m Kluivert - £10m Tavernier £10m Semenyo £9m But like every club, it hasnt been without some players who have failed to deliver on their price tag Traore - £25m Faivre - £14m There are others like Unal, Senesi, Scott who were costly but have delivered to some degree. But this has easily been offset by the £60m they got for Solanke. They're riding that wave that we had in the Koeman years and early Hasenhuttl years where the recruitment was excellent - but crucially the management of the team was excellent also.

Every chance we still look elsewhere in the summer despite Solak's comments. He was hardly going to say that Juric will be replaced in the summer as that kills any incentive for Juric and just creates more uncertainty for the players. Hard to see how he can be kept on if we dont win a game or two the rest of the season, despite the demoralised team hes inherited.
-
Exactly my thoughts. Young, up and coming manager, but not sure its what we need right now. Fans a bit more invested in him because he was here before obviously
-
Tbf the main leagues should just bin the January transfer window. It used to be exciting many years ago but now clubs are reluctant to sell unless they have a replacement lined up and prices are sky high compared to the summer window. You just end up blowing the heap on the likes of Tall Paul, Sully and Orsic. If there is somebody that Juric badly wants and its possible, then yes lets make the effort. Otherwise save the £ for the summer
-
Think most fans would support that approach, problem is Juric will be pushing for the Board to back him in this window. Hes effectively interviewing the rest of this season for the job next season, and will be telling them that he cant show his worth unless he has a few players that suit his system/style of play
-
Who will never recover? The fans? We have enough dismal records as it is - its just another to add to the growing list. Or if you're worried by what other fans might think then perhaps supporting Saints isnt for you. Maybe that's just me, but I've been worn down watching enough shite for the past 5 years If you mean the players - many will be at new clubs next season and will have forgotten about how bad they were - they're just after their next payday.

Really dont get the clamour for Rohl. Yes he may be familiar with the club, but he left us in August 2019 and a lot has changed since then. By the summer he will have a grand total of 18 months managerial experience. Is that what a team who will be expected to get promotion needs? He may be familiar with the Championship, but again only 18 months of experience. Yes he's turned Wednesday's fortunes around, but if they dont make the playoffs (which is unlikely anyways) then it matters little. Wasnt RM hammered for having not achieved anything when he was appointed our manager. Sure Selles turned Reading around and may do similar with Hull, but 95% of our fans would never have him back as manager. We can do much better imo. And fwiw I wouldnt appoint Juric either - he is wedded to 5 at the back, a system which is not sustainable long term in the PL.
