While I accept that we dont need to make wholesale changes this summer....we do need wholesale changes by summer 2026 if we want to be a competitive PL team again (if we get promoted). We could be forced into doing a large chunk of that this summer. If you take our regular starting team we're definitely losing KWP and Big Les. We're also very likely losing Ramsdale, Dibling and Fernandes. Wouldnt be surprised if one or two others tried to force a move also. Yes we're going to need to rely on some of those players who've let us down this season (and even 22/23) but we need to keep that number to a bare minimum and they need to be squad fillers only. If we're starting next season with Bazunu, Bednarek, Stephens, Bree, Manning, Sulemana, AA or Onuachu as regular starters - then our recruitment hasnt been good enough and we're making the same mistakes again. We likely need 6/7 new starters imo

We already have a replacement for Big Les in Shea Charles. Him and Downes under the right coach could be a formidable partnership in the Championship (in a 4-2-3-1 especially)

Utterly depressing that a club like Crystal Palace who have been very shrewd with their transfer business are into a cup final and pushing for a top half PL finish. Whereas we've won 2 games all season. Its not as if Parish has thrown the money around, instead they've made the most of their sales and reinvested it wisely. They signed the likes of Eze, Wharton, Richards, Sarr and Mateta. We signed Sulemana, Stewart, Wood, BBD and Onuachu. Fuckin hell
-
If winning 26 games was dire, I'd be interested in how you would describe this season. Good chance we dont win that many next season
-
100%. They deserve it on their records. As a fan, who really cares. We've got enough shite records as it is
-
Same was said at the end of 22/23. Hopefully the majority of those cunts wont be anywhere the club next season
-
Absolutely not!!! One of the names I still remember from the 4-3 FA Cup defeat against Tranmere in 2001. Still hurts 😂
-
Our recruitment this summer needs to be players who could make the step up into the PL. Obviously difficult to identify and sign such players when you're in the Championship, but we absolutely do not need Ryan Fraser or Charlie Taylor type signings. A couple of very good Championship players in mind - Hamer (Coventry) AM Cirkin (Sunderland) LB Sainz (Norwich) LW
-
Even if we did (highly highly unlikely) what would it matter? 19th or 20th is still a pile of steaming shit
-
Its because we are a pub team
-
Theres a blast from the past scoring against Chelsea tonight - Tomas Pekhart

Regardless of the volume of new signings in the summer, those responsible for recruitment can start to gain our trust if they sufficiently address two areas; GK and Striker Ramsdale will almost certainly be leaving, either permanently or on a season long loan. And if we have Bazunu or god forbid McCarthy starting the first game of the season, then the club will have truly failed. An absolute must. Similarly, I would be very surprised if Tall Paul is still here come the end of the summer. I can see Archer staying, but if we're still relying on AA and the Loch Ness Drogba (needs a new nickname) to lead the line then the club will have failed here also. We need two new strikers in my opinion. Other areas such as CB, RB/LB, RW/LW and AM I'm less concerned about, although we still need to strengthen throughout the team. DM with Downes and Charles (if they both stay) would be the best pairing in the Championship (in a 4-2-3-1)

Just on his Derby record, they finished 6th the season before he joined and he took them to 6th again. There is no doubting that he has improved Coventry however
-
Good because most of them are shite
-
Exactly this. When we went down two years ago we had the whole "we'll not be back for a while...". With a new manager and some good recruitment (we're due a good window arent we?), theres no reason why we wont be in a much better position in 12 months. Those making the big decisions at the club need to stop pissing around
-
We really dont deserve to pick up another point this season and it will be fitting that we break Derby's record because we are watching the worst PL team ever....by some distance too. Couldnt care less....we already have two 9-0s under our belt and we've been relegated with 7 games to go. Whats another shite record to add to the list. For those fans worrying about it, who cares about the ridicule or what other fans think
-
We already have plenty of players who cdajfu in the Championship. We need to be identifying players who cdajfu in the PL should we get back
-
Outside of his first 6 months in charge of Boro, its been fairly average. Missed out on the playoffs last season and theres every chance they'll do the same again this season. Hardly a ringing endorsement when we need somebody to get us promoted.

I dont feel sorry for him at all....he was fucking dreadful. Yes he inherited a terrible team, but he talked up how he had been analysing us for months and also prided himself on being defensive astute. He then proceeded to 1. Play James Bree or Joe Aribo as a CB 2. Start some games with 4 full backs 3. Play most games with 7/8 defensive players 4. Start some games with no recognised striker 5. Employ some mental man marking system which hasnt be seen since the early 90s. All in all he delivered 4 points from 42 and is the worst PL manager to have coached 10+ games in the league. We conceded 38 goals in that run (nearly 3 per game) and the players looked like they didnt know what they were supposed to do (they deserve alot of the criticism too). I definitely wasnt expecting him to keep us up, but I was expecting him to make us more defensively sound and organised in the hope that we could win a few games and delay the inevitable until at least the last few games. Somehow he took us backwards which is some achievement.
-
Only fitting that we're relegated wearing that horrid pink kit. We deserve it for that alone Already looking forward to the Championship, although I'm not convinced that it'll be as successful as the last time. Rohl just does not inspire me at all and I laugh at some dismissing Dyche. I mean its never going to be Dyche, but we could do a lot worse.
-
Hard to argue with that. I do think Archer would be a decent option in the Championship, though we 100% need a new striker. Welington could also be our starting left back. Has showed some promise and a full pre-season with the team would be good for him. Also be interesting to see whether any of the Goztepe players end up with us
-
Who said anything about the fans turning on them. I suggested that the fans dont go. We're more likely to turn on them watching the shite that they and Juric will serve up. Continuing to turn up in our droves and happy clapping is an interesting method of displaying our anger to those decision makers. And as if the players give a fuck....just like the 22/23 season about 90% of them will be queuing up with their agents come May time to get off the sinking ship as quick as they can - not that many of them will be missed
-
Be good if fans stayed away. This team doesnt deserve any support and there is definitely no 'entertainment' being served up
-
I thought Goztepe were having a good season. Yes, they're sitting 6th but they're only 8 points ahead of the relegation zone. The Ankersen effect
