He really had a chance to be our starting LB last season and he would have flourished in the Championship. However RM wanted his own man in Manning and we've since brought in Taylor (plus KWP will play LB also). Disappointing as I think he has a great career ahead of him, possibly at PL level
-
Its ok, that article is referring to our fierce rivals FC Southampton

Tyler Dibling is special. Like a young Lallana. Old Lallana also deserves a mention, was excellent when he came on
-
Yeah but its clear it is still a consequence of the system we play, regardless of those in the defensive positions. Cant judge the Newcastle game with the man advantage but we gifted plenty of chances against Forest and again tonight. Needs to improve
-
Completely understand the need for 3 CBs; last weekend being the perfect example of a game where it seemed obvious. We'll also likely deploy it away to City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. But when we're at home against sides like Forest, we need to have the confidence and the conviction to play 2 CBs, especially if Les and Downes is our likely best pairing in front of them. Bijlow Suga THB Bednarek KWP Downes Les AA Dibling/Fernandes/Aribo BBD New Striker To me that would be a pretty strong side, and depending on the striker, one which is easily capable of staying up. We also have the likes of Archer, Stewart (when fit), Sulemana, Lallana and Wee Man (when he signs) who could all make an impact off the bench.

Sensible more like, especially given his lack of games recently. I'd be more worried if we were paying 8-12m up front
-
Pretty sure you said that last season too. And he took us in the opposite direction to what you thought. Two games in and the fuckin hissy fits have started already
-
Ipswich have spent over 100m already and theres still a week of the window to go

I think it has since changed to €18m and Hugo on loan as opposed to permanently. We paid €13m or so for Charly so €18-20m for a player that has barely played for us or Juve in the last year is decent business. Charly is worth nowhere near €30m

A mate for Big Les

You dont know how well they've done transfer-wise. The season will determine that. Yes if they get the best out of Delap, Broja, Phillips and Cajuste (none of whom have been particularly good or regular starters in recent years), and the likes of Hutchinson, Greaves and Szmodics make the step up to PL level, then yes they'll be comfortably safe from relegation. However, its also very possible that these signings dont work out and they're forced to move many of these players on next summer at a massive loss.....as we know very well

Thats the spirit.....you should maybe change your username

If you had offered me Archer or Broja a few weeks ago I would have said Archer. Broja hasnt looked the same player that played the first 10-12 games for us. Would also be surprised if he doesnt get injured within the first few months
-
Sugawara looks a fantastic signing. Roasted Hall a couple of times and put the great cross in that BBD should have scored from. Why did he go off at HT? Tactical or did he have a niggle? If we can keep KWP, then we definitely have a full back pairing to rival some top 6 sides
-
Hopefully we can finalise sales for Alcaraz, ABK, Mara and maybe one other in the coming days to give us enough £ to pursue the signings we want. Will de disappointed to see Charly go as he did well for us in our relegation season and I feel he could be a big player for us. But it also seems like he hasnt fully settled and perhaps wants to be closer to home
-
Must have missed those links and if true I dont think they would have been very realistic when we were in the championship. The point still stands, many on here have convinced themselves that he is player we desperately need to sign, and that is highly likely based on a youtube highlight and watching a Celtic pre season game
-
The annoyance on here that we have signed Fernandes as a cheaper alternative to O"Riley is hilarious, especially considering; a. We currently dont know if that is the case b. About 80% of this forum had not seen either player play before any link surfaced. Some have convinced themselves that O'Riley is the best thing since sliced bread
-
Weak goalkeeping and failing to take our chances. Funny that....we've only been crying out for a new GK and striker for months, if not years. Both positions badly need addressed by the end of month. Throw in O'Riley too and it'll have been a good window
-
What are you about. In those games we changed to 5-3-2 (which we're still playing), but we still played out from the back
-
Was our 3rd choice GK six months ago and should have been released in the summer. But no we give him a new contract and he starts for us in the PL 💩

It might have been an issue say 15/20 years ago, but NI and the NI national team support has changed dramatically since then. There have been a few Celtic players who have played since the Lennon issue (he was subject to death threats, although there was a paramilitary element to it, as opposed to genuine NI supporters) including Paddy McCourt (who is viewed as a NI cult figure), Niall McGinn and Conor Hazard. Shea going to Celtic on loan would not affect the support he receives as a NI player - although he hasn't had a run of games to prove himself to Saints fans, he has been one of the better players for NI in the past two years
-
Even if we bring Archer in, we still need another striker. We've let Adams leave and Tall Paul/Mara could be on their way as well. One to maybe keep an eye on is Ioannidis from Panathinaikos. We were linked earlier in the week and they've just been knocked out of the EL qualifiers so may need to cash in
-
I know they've just cashed in on Solanke, but it didnt take long for Bournemouth to identify a replacement and bring them in. Whereas we're making no noise at all in signing a striker
