  1. Very good at recruiting City kids and loan players. Not sure that'll cut it at United. Hopefully we can get a replacement in before the summer
  2. Still think Lumley is the better option. Bit odd that McCarthy hasnt featured all season and now hes been thrust in. Yes he has PL experience, but its not as if Lumley is short of experience himself. All that being said, if McCarthy helps us keep a few clean sheets and gets us over the line for automatic, I'll take back all my criticism from the past few years
  3. Not over, but still think that horrible goal we gifted Ipswich at the death will cost us in the end
  4. You would have looked fine in goal tonight
  5. Automatic was done and dusted after Ipswich. Win on Saturday and we'll have put ourselves firmly back in the mix. Leicester and Leeds with tough games on paper and Ipswich not playing. A chance to seize the initiative and set up a huge game next Tuesday.
  6. Lovely. On to saturday
  7. Can we just have a comfortable 3-0 win for once. Heart cant take much more of us throwing away leads, only to win it in at the death. Something a bit more straight forward would be nice
  8. It would have been about 50/1 after the Ipswich defeat. That late goal could be the one that costs us
  9. Cheer up fs
  10. Alright dark cloud, just trying to spread a bit optimism fs 🙄
  11. Ipswich still to play Boro (H), Hull (A), Coventry (A) and Huddersfield (H). Leeds still to play Blackburn (H), Boro (A), QPR (A) and ourselves. Points will be dropped, but that will likely apply to us as well. Cant see us winning the remaining 6. Gave up all hope after Boro but the teams around us are stuttering and it keeps pulling me back in 😵‍. Maybe Watford will put us out of our misery
  12. Ipswich didnt take advantage of Leicester and Leeds slipping up. Hope we dont live to regret the end of the Ipswich and Middlesboro games. Things wouldnt be looking too bad if we hadn't dropped those 3 points
  13. Yep being 9/10 points adrift has absolutely nothing to do with the poor defeats against Milwall, Hull, Bristol City and Ipswich, or the run of 4 defeats in September where we left ourselves in a massive hole. Its all because of that massive red herring that was our 22 game unbeaten run in the league 🤯
  14. Even just denying Ipswich the win and our position would look so much better
  15. Agreed. Also while its all well and good saying that we need a run of form going into the playoffs, that good run of form could also result in us narrowly missing out on autos and the deflation that comes with that
  16. Norwich pissed away a 2 goal lead at Wednesday #playoffwatch
  17. Definitely not renowned for his energy 😂
  18. Leeds not over yet
  19. Joe Aribo got MOTM for all those who said he was shit
  20. They beat Leeds. We beat them. We must be better than Leeds then
  21. Alfie seems to think Joe is having a decent game
  22. Red herring definitely isnt the right choice of phrase. A unbeaten run of 5/6 games maybe, but not over 25. I seem to recall that most of our draws during the run came as a result of late equalisers, either for us or against us. Definitely a hallelujah for our late equalisers as it helped us to avoid defeat. Definitely dont recall any hallelujahs on here for ones we conceded late on. Its also very easy to say that if we had more WWLs then we would be in a better position than we are now. However once the team suffers the disappointment of defeat, theres no guarantee its followed up by another run of wins. Our unbeaten run was a massive contributor to the position we find ourselves in. To say otherwise or its a red herring is nonsense
  23. 25 games unbeaten was a red herring? 😂
  24. Its all about promotion, whether that comes via 1st, 2nd or even 6th place, it ultimately doesnt matter. Honestly couldnt tell you most of the teams who won the Championship or finished 2nd prior to last season. If Leicester, Ipswich or Leeds win the league, that will matter very little if we're lining up against them next season. Its really a waste of thumb energy arguing about the success or failure of RM and 'Russball' with the business end of the season still to happen. There will be plenty of time for that come the end of May and beyond. Its time to get behind the team regardless of your views of RM
  25. Unfortunately its where we are in the footballing food chain. Once clubs like Chelsea and United come knocking, theres no chance in holding onto them. Not overly bothered in him leaving as the recruitment has been average. If we had've signed a striker who wasnt crocked, the table would be looking different right now. Its more the timing thats annoying, more shit on the shovel when we've enough already
