Nigel Adkins got him the sack as well. Think he did the same to Hughes when we beat QPR in the PL
-
Thought he was crap. Looks disinterested (possibly with what was said about Willy and Lyanco leaving) and gave the ball away countless times
-
Positives- Smallbone and Downes were excellent. THB and Bednarek very solid as well. Stu's goal was superb and Sulemana will be a big threat for us if he can get better with the final ball and adding goals. Aribo helped kill the last 3 minutes of the game single handedly lol Negatives - Alcaraz looks lost and then hes getting involved in the handbags at the end. Hes went backwards since last season. Not sure what Mara offers off the bench, particularly ahead of Che A bit more composure and we would've killed the game. Very ugly last 20 minutes or so but we dug in and got the win so cant fault the effort

Whats that..... A clean sheet
-
Been some bad halves this season and this is up there. We've just retreated to our 18 yard box fs
-
This second half has been diabolical
-
Alcaraz looks much worse in the Championship than he did in the PL. Needs to get his head up and cut it back
-
Maybe winning, but that is a really lacklustre half. Goal aside Stu has been very sloppy in possession. Same with Alcaraz and Manning*. Sulemana getting plenty of joy against Hoover but the final ball is lacking. Keeper has had bugger all to do. Can only get better in the second half. We get the next goal and its over. * we desperately need a new LB in January. Manning gets worse every game I see him. Gets caught in possession two many times, lazy in defence and needs to communicate better with Sulemana in front of him

Actually keep Stu on 😂

Can we make 4 of our subs now. Alcaraz, Sulemana, Manning, S Armstrong off da fuck
-
For those constantly fuckin negative Any thoughts?

There is certainly merit in possession based football, but it needs to be done in the right areas. Considering we pay a lot of attention to what City do (arguably the best side at playing out from the back), surely we recognise that Ederson regularly sends it 50-60 yards when nothing is developing in their own third. If sides are pressing us very high, we need to be similarly adaptable to go long and start our possession that way. Perhaps Stewart will add that dimension. Separately, when City give it away in their own half they're exceptional at recovering as a team and getting back in a defensive shape. We're all at sea when we lose possession. It only takes one mistake or an effective press from the opposition and we've conceded. Against well-drilled defensive sides (like Ipswich), that's game over. Players regularly make mistakes so we need to accept that they're going to happen, however it doesn't take a genius to work out that there is less risk losing it 50 yards out, as opposed to 25 yards out. If we're so confident in our possession approach, then we can do so from winning the ball in their half/around the halfway line.

Average two points a game and we'll probably get automatic. Long way to go, but the longer this shit form persists then it becomes an impossible task

That was an Alex Crook bullshit special

Spoke too soon

JWP off to a great start at WHU. Romeu playing in the Champions League for Barca. Tino on the bench at the San Siro last night And now Elyounoussi is leading Copenhagen to wins in the Champions League. All the while we're languishing near the bottom half of the Championship Depressing doesnt even come close
-
Redmond was at least capable of producing something good every so often.

Dragan Solak is Milan Mandaric's lovechild 😱
-
Tbf KWP, Alcaraz, Sulemana and Adams are the 2024 versions of Makin, Pulis, Wright and Pekhart

Bring back Selles, he seems to have discovered attacking football all of a sudden
-
That's some revisionism. You just need to look at that match thread to see the levels of optimism following that performance. We battered Wednesday and yes it took a late goal, but they barely touched the ball for 90 minutes. Plymouth away was another solid win against a team who hadn't lost at home for however long. There's no denying that aspects of the other games were poor to appalling as you say, but we managed to grind out a win against QPR and a late point against a solid Norwich team. You'd think we'd gone 6 game without a win. Yes things may not improve and those calling for RM's head now will be rejoicing in a month or two, but to be calling for his sacking now is unwarranted in my opinion

Kompany, Heckingbottom and Edwards were the three promoted managers last season. Top flight managerial experience between them? Next to nothing bar the Belgian league Season before - Silva, Parker (yes Scott fucking Parker) and Cooper. Two managers who largely failed in the PL and the other with zero top flight experience. Its really not that simple to just bring in an 'experienced' manager and that equals improvement or better still, promotion.

I know its mental that people want them out after 6 games, even when we've won half of them. RM wasnt my choice but the decision was made and Wilcox (a football man) has explained his reasons for appointing him. Im always for giving managers time, whats wrong with that. It was bad enough we had 3 managers last season, do you want another 3 this season? Even Watford would be laughing at us. Jones shot himself in the foot with his bizarre post match comments and pressers. The board had to act in the end. The fact they ended up giving it to Selles shows that they had no real plan beyond Jones for last season
