Looks like we'll not be getting the Nathan Jones derby after all....regardless if he stays
-
Up until a week ago I was happy to stick with him. Then we had the Newcastle and Brentford games which were dismal, the post match meltdown where he claimed he was accountable and then everybody else was accountable, and then the reports of falling out with some players and other players not having faith in his abilities - that is more than enough to twist at this point. Once you've lost a certain section of the dressing room then you're done I'm afraid. Why would some of those players bust a gut for somebody they dont respect or trust. And with every negative result, the situation just exacerbates with negativity spreading and more players joining the mutiny. I dont see any manager keeping us up right now and not many will want to come given our situation. And if somebody was to be persuaded to come in, and we still go down, then fans will likely want them gone in the summer (which is another contract pay out for the club). Unfortunately Rasmus et al have backed themselves into a corner where they'll likely have to stick with Jones, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were sounding out longer term replacements who would be willing to lead us in the Championship

Are you Kaizer Soze mk 2? I think there just might be another thread for this
-
Can see Ankersen or Semmen's prepared lines already. They'll probably throw this out at the start and then ask that there's no further questions on the matter. "We're disappointed in Nathan's post match comments, however we remain committed to Nathan as first team manager and confident that he can improve the team during the second half of the season."
-
Thats a great shout actually, forgot all about that

We will be in the Championship next season, so theres absolutely zero chance that Potter would come here. Hes currently managing a team thats worth about a billion pounds and about to play in the Champions League knockouts. Yes its likely he'll be relieved of his duties by the summer, but he'll have plenty of more attractive options like West Ham or Leicester or Spurs depending on how the managerial merry go round moves. It certainly wont be managing us away to Plymouth on a Tuesday night as that would be taking his managerial career 10 steps back
-
We've looked like a team going down since about this time last year
-
Not convinced all of them will leave. Onuachu has just come from the Belgian league, Orsic from the Croatian league, DCC has dropped off the international scene in recent years and Sulemana was a bit part player for Rennes towards the end. Yes it wont be what they signed up for, but the Championship is still one of the best European leagues outside the top 5. The deciding factors will be who is in charge of the team and the vision being sold by the owners. Get both right then players can be persuaded to stay and it could be a quick return to the PL.

Its fairly common knowledge that we keep track of alot of managers for an extended period, as we do with players (with the use of the black box or whatever its current iteration is). Jones did a pretty good job for Luton the past 18/20 months (hes never told us) so it would be no surprise to see that we tracked him for that length of period. But we would have tracked lots of others. The big issue is how he ended up number 1 on our list. I struggle to see how Jones' lack of top flight experience and lack of genuine success (cups/promotions) gets him anywhere near the top - unless some further metrics are added to the database (looking at you Ankersen). Lets hope the black box, or whatever it is now, is being interogated for the next few days for Jones' successor - and Ankersen isnt looking at the results inverted

Tbf he has been absolutely dreadful in his two appearances. Also didnt pull up any trees for the B team on Friday
-
Giving it the big one would be ok if we were winning games of football.....but we're not
-
Newcastle were technically joint bottom xmas last year and survived
-
Its becoming more clear that Selles really isnt this super coach that some of our fans think he is. Hopefully he'll be out on his arse soon enough too
-
No manager would take a job if that was the case. It just doesnt happen at any other club. And if it is happening, then more fool Jones for going along with it. Im sure when Jones is sacked we'll hear his side in a tell all interview no doubt. Though there will definitely be plenty of arse saving from Jones. Can put the blame on others that it all came crashing down so quickly
-
The pressure is only going to gather pace now, the players will see the comments on social media, Ian Wright's criticism etc. Might get away with those sorts of post match comments in the Championship. In the PL every single word gets poured over in fine detail

100%. Dont get me wrong, Ralph was let down badly in the summer. But we should have making a change of manager at that point, not prolonging the agony. He was a broken man by the end of last season
-
Lets face it, hes not going from managing one of the top sides in the league, champions league football etc, to then managing in the Championship 😂
-
Well then leave the other 72 clubs out of it if you want. Guess what, worst team in the PL, by a distance. Dont be blaming Broja, its all Ralphs doing. But sure lets bring Ralph back. Almost as embarrassing as "give it to Nigel until the end of the season"
-
Here we go again, reinventing Ralph. As pish as Jones has been, Ralph's last year was equally as shambolic. Do we need to break out the 90 out of 92 teams stat again. If Jones keeps up his 1 win in 7 record, he'll prob still better Ralph's last year in charge. We need to find somebody better than the both of them
-
He already told Everton that it wasnt enough time to implement his style. Asked to take their under 21s sure 😂
-
Not convinced the players are dictating to Jones how they should play. You hardly hear a peep out of them on the pitch, so doubt they could muster the balls to dictate to the manager on the training ground/changing room. I'd go with Ankersen or Selles. Its just chaotic. Doesnt get on with some players it appears and is now calling out certain individuals for how we're playing. Crisis club
-
Fat Sam definitely isnt the answer, he wouldnt be able to keep this team up. There also doesnt appear to be many other top managers who would want to come to us right now. And Selles until the end of the season is not the answer either. Like I've said before I would be surprised to see us change the manager again this season. But that interview doesnt help Jones' case at all
