Wont influence this window, but it would be good if the club could announce a new Head of Recruitment and Director of Football (replacing Crocker in the summer) in the next month or two. They will need to get to work sharpish for what will be a crucial summer, regardless of what division we're in

Wrong thread

Yep....Ralph was hard done by being sacked

Yet you'll be back for more punishment next week. A heroin addiction would be better for your health ππ

Much better performance than Brighton (had to be) but ultimately it was the same old problems - not taking our chances, weak defending, weak mentality. Positives Attitude and workrate was ten times better so all this talk that the players dont respect or care for Jones seems like bullshit. They were definitely fighting for him. Tactics and the pressing at times was much improved. Again the manager has his hands tied with our depth but I thought the subs were spot on. Stu on at the right time and Edozie needed to come off too as he was done. No issue with Perraud replacing him as the only other options were Diallo, AA and Mara (they're obviously being cautious with Lavia). The transfer window is here and boy do we need 5/6 new faces. Unlikely to get that many, but a new striker, creative AM and DM are essential. I hope Ankersen is angry and recognises the major surgery that squad needs right now. Negatives Lyanco. Poor defending but we shouldnt be surprised from what we've seen of him. He is so erratic which no amount of passion can compensate for. Get DCC in the next lineup and if Lyanco is still interested in a return to Brazil in the summer then get it finalised. Was warned in the summer by Rangers mates that Aribo can be incredibly frustrating/lazy at times and so its proving. We cant carry players like that and hope for a moment of magic which very rarely comes. When are we going to score from open play again? The lack of a decent striker in the summer is a big reason why we're in the current position. We need at least one striker in this window, hopefully two as AA and Mara (not now) dont offer anything at this level. Weak mentality again. A manager can try and build these players up and inspire as much confidence as possible, but its clear we have players scarred by their previous experiences with this team. They constantly revert to dropping deeper and inviting pressure. Lots of new faces are needed to try and move us away from this losers mentality. Defending set pieces. While I've defended Jones for his tactics and the time it takes to ingrain a new style of playing in a squad - the fact we're so weak on set pieces is on him and his coaching staff (we're bound to have a set piece coach). This can be worked on day after day in training to get us to an acceptable standard of organisation and accountability. Not good enough at this level. Forest is massive. We desperately need to get something going at home, if we dont we'll be down by late March/early April, its that simple. For as bad as we've been in the first half of the season, we're only a win from getting out of the drop zone. But that needs to happen soon or we'll be cut adrift. Happy new year. Heres to a much improved 2023, because to be honest 2022 has been fcuking shit

Wouldnt trust anything that account says

Neither did Ralph towards the end of his time here. Maybe the issue is with Stu
-
It was obvious when he signed that he would get very little game time. He'll be out on loan in the next year and then permanently sold within 2. He was superb for Fulham last year but Liverpool was a leap too soon
-
Vitinha benched by Braga tonight against Benfica. The other two forwards have just scored so maybe they might look to cash in on him. Also I see Fabio Carvalho on the bench for Liverpool tonight. But with Gakpo arriving, Jota and Diaz returning from injury eventually, plus Nunez, Salah, Firmino, Elliott, Bajcetic and the Ox all seemigly preferred ahead of him, perhaps a sneaky loan bid?
-
Has a 7 year old wrote that or is it just a terrible translation. Air cannons, far pole and theres a risk that Moffi could put on weight were my favourite bits
-
The last ex-player nostaligia signing worked out well for us. Ox is a much better player than Walcott at this stage, but we'd be lucky to get 10-15 games out of him a season with his injury history
-
I dont think 3 signings would be enough. 4 is what I think is likely needed. A message needs to be sent to the current squad that they're not doing the business and will be replaced. I would target a CF, an AM, a winger and a DM. CF - Moussa Dembele (Lyon) - very good scoring record and out of contract in the summer. If Dembele is too unrealistic then Vitinha (Braga) as an alternative. Top scorer in this season's Europa League to date AM - Jesper Karlsson (AZ) - was only second to Tadic in assists in the Eredivisie last season. Regularly gets on the scoresheet and is an excellent free kick alternative to JWP. Winger - Benjamin Bourigeaud (Rennes) - tricky winger and will be 29 next month so will bring some much needed experience. DM - Rani Khedira (Union Berlin) - big physical presence but great on the ball too I would also look to bring back Nathan Tella. Direct and full of confidence right now. We desperately need goals and creativity. These players would certainly bring that

His heads been turned already

Not sure the Athletic article actually tells us anything groundbreaking. Im not sure who Tanswell's contacts within the club are, but when asked they've likely told him that the club are considering all options for the window including recalling those on loan. It's normal for a new manager to want to look at the entirety of the squad. They've obviously enquired with the loan clubs to get their views on whether it would be feasible should we want to take up the option. Whether we do so remains to be seen
-
DCC, ABK and Salisu have all played multiple seasons in a top league. Not sure how to quantify what experience we actually need, but Bednarek or Stephens are not the answer
-
Did indeed
-
Lopetegui had 6 weeks to work with his squad. He chose not to manage their last game before the break (vs Arsenal)
-
3. Any harder questions
-
Vitinha, Jesper Karlsson and Naby Keita. Hopefully its enough
-
Yep thats exactly why he signed. Nothing to do with the fact that his salary has probably been doubled
-
Injuries permitting.... McCarthy KWP ABK DCC Perraud Lavia JWP Aribo Armstrong Edozie Adams On paper that is a decent side, but obviously void of confidence. We need as much creativity on the pitch as possible and to me thats the best front 4 we've got. Also need to deal with the threat posed by Mitrovic. Perhaps Lyanco wouldnt be so bad in this game, could end up with both being sent off π. ABK and DCC for me. We badly need to start grinding out results, even if its ugly, and obviously stop making defensive mistakes. Going with 1-1, but will likely be another 3-1 loss.
-
Maybe early in his tenure. The last year or so some of his interviews were just delusional. We always seemed to be hard done by or really unlucky, when in reality we were outplayed and deserving of nothing. Jones is new in the job so he cant be laying into the players already. He has also talked about the importance of man management so we'll be getting plenty of watered down interviews
-
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/endendevertraege Some decent names on there with their contracts expiring in the summer. Should go all out for Benzema, Depay, Kroos and Gundogan ππ A CB we've been previously linked with is on there - Evan N'Dicka. Maybe we could be moving Salisu and/or Lyanco on. Previous links Moussa Dembele, Ryan Kent and Ben Brereton also on there
-
Lingard injured. Hammy it seems. We need all the help we can get
-
Just seen that Naby Keita is out of contract in the summer and will be available at a cut price. If there is any substance to the Lavia rumours then I wouldnt be adverse to selling him for 30m+ if (big if) we could bring in Keita for less than 10m and give us funds to strengthen elsewhere. As much a talent that Lavia is, his injury record for a kid is pretty poor. Keita has had his injury issues but would bring much needed experience. The problem is, would he want to come to a team bottom of the league. Could maybe do a 6 month loan
