Lets be honest about 99% of this forum didnt know who this was until a quick google search this evening. I dont know much about him so what makes him the best candidate? Why would he want to leave competing for titles to come here for a relegation fight?
-
Maybe not. But then look at the state of Newcastles attack before Howe came in. Almiron is now a world beater, Wilson could be in the England squad and I think I heard that Newcastle have had 11 different scorers this PL season which is the league highest

Would happily take 502 bad gateway until the end of the season. Its bad enough watching us at the moment, least I wouldnt have somwhere to talk about how bad we are too -

Thats pathetic. We deserve to be relegated for our weak fanbase alone -

While its as clear as day we're lacking in the attacking dept, we also conceded goals from Chris Wood and Joe Willock ffs. Hardly two PL dangermen. Yes we need a striker and hopefully an AM in January, but we also need a coach that can inject some attacking flair into our team. Exactly what Howe is doing, even with Isak missing and ASM just returning from injury. We're dreadfully vacant when it comes to ideas/decision making in the final third -
It was clear with Lavia's signing that the club had decided he was the preferred holding midfielder option. At Romeu's age, do you think he wanted to sit on the bench most weeks, or get himself a nice move back home. It was a move which undoubtedly suited both parties. With hindsight given Lavia's injury, yes it would have been nice to have the luxury of a backup player like Romeu to fill in. But you would also have been keeping a player at the club, likely unhappy when he had been offered more game time elsewhere. Hardly one of the most ridiculous sales we've made as has been mentioned.

Tadic with a lovely pass for Ajax's 1st goal and an assist for Ajax's 3rd goal. Still pulling the strings on the biggest stage. Yes his time here ran its course, but we could desperately do with a player like him right now. Che would have more chances per game and hopefully take 1 or 2 🙃

We dont need a backbone. We've brought in Lavia, ABK and Bazunu who've largely improved our spine. DCC is also an improvement on Stephens. Its fairly obvious we need goalscorers and players who can create goals too
-
We have all the makings of a team sliding towards relegation unfortunately. We dont score enough goals. T-3 worst for goals scored this season We dont create enough chances. 4th worst XG rating (1.25) We cant keep clean sheets. While we have a decent defence on paper, and theres some new faces who will take time to gel, we're still conceding. Although we're not conceding as many as the start of the season. Defensively we've been poor in the PL for quite a while now, but we've always had enough goals in us. We desperately need to address this in January. We need 1 maybe 2 strikers, and ideally a no10. January is not a buyers window so expect us to have to pay over the odds. Hopefully SR recognise this and put the money up

We need it to be like the covid season where we came back from the extended break and hit the ground running. Be even better if we had a new manager with a fresh approach
-
You can guarantee one thing, we'll not be beating Liverpool at anfield in a few weeks.
-
Diallo had an absolute stinker today, and struggles in most games. Not good enough with/without the ball for the PL. Nowhere near physical enough either
-
Hoping we stick with the 3-5-2 / 5-3-2. With the depth we now have at CB and with full backs who like to bomb forward, it just makes sense and will work well away from home in particular. Bit of a void at RB and bearing in mind Palace will try to exploit that with Zaha, I would pick AMN. Assuming that ABK and Lavia remain sidelined (Lavia must have a chance though), I would go with - Bazunu Lyanco Salisu DCC AMN Perraud Moi JWP S Armstrong Aribo Adams
-
It doesn't take much to be 'pundit' these days. You just have to look at the wooden ones on Soccer Saturday now - Clinton Morrison, Lee Hendrie, Michael Dawson. Absolutely desperate

Its been a good week. Would have been happy with 4 points from last three games, so to get 5 is a great return. Three games until the WC break so if we can get the same then we'll be sitting ok. Think Moi proved alot of us wrong today, including myself. Thought the defence looked very shaky early doors but once we went to three at the back we were so much better. Lyanco, DCC and Perraud were superb. I honestly think with the choice of good CBs we have we should employ it more often. Edozie looked a live wire when he came on and hopefully he'll get more game time. Offered alot more than Aribo did for most of the game. Two things are for sure - today proved that these players are definitely playing for Ralph. After that desperate first 20 minutes they could have just given up. This means that the story a while back either was a load of shit, or the bad egg leaking information is gone now. Secondly, people can find a way to complain about the summer window, but we've got much better depth now. To be missing arguably our 3 best players and have our only proven PL striker struggling, but still field a strong team today shows we've made improvements
-
Doesnt surprise me at all. Was arguably our best wing option 18 months ago when he got a good run of games. Then his game time evaporated and Ralph went back to preferring Redmond, Moi, even Walcott fs
-
Apparently Stephens has got a grand total of 1 minute game time since joining Bournemouth. Been on the bench most games (apart from our game as he couldnt play)
-
Hopefully only cramp for KWP 🙏🏼
-
They battered us last season and we still beat them 1-0. Would take the same again please 😁
-
If we can get a decent goalscorer in January to accompany Adams, and Lavia back sharpish....we could actually have the makings of a decent team. Very much needed 3 points, even though the performance left a lot to be desired. They picked up on the chanting in the sky sports special studio. Unlikely the owners will take much notice though
-
Even before Blackburn, he took Malmo through 4 qualifying rounds to the Champions League group stages last season. Beat Rangers home and away. The game at Ibrox certainly required them to grind out the result
-
More and more convinced that our reported interest in a championship manager is JD Tommason. Seems to be doing a great job with Blackburn and there is of course the Danish link
-
Dead on Kelvin 👍🏻
-
It should be noted that there was plenty of talk on MOTD2 about Gerrard's future (Ralph's position wasnt even mentioned). His record as Villa manager in the same period - Won 7 Drew 6 Lost 10 Points 27 Over double the number of points that we've accumulated, yet hes under immense pressure 🤷🏼♂️

They dont need deep pockets to cover Ralphs pay out. Replacing and paying off sacked managers is part and parcel of the game and surely they appreciate that funds will be regularly needed for this. Would love to know what Watford have paid out in the past 10 years!! Having the right man at the helm is as important as any 20-30 million pound marquee signing, therefore money should be no issue. Hopefully the delay in removing Ralph is down to identifying his replacement
