Good spot. Are we just stockpiling left wingers for the hell of it
-
The first offer is obviously to test the waters. We would be doing something wrong if it was accepted. Can see the player wanting the move and only needs to look at his compatriot Hojbjerg to see what a successful spell here could do for his career.
-
His Dad wasnt a bad player. Also see he was born in Derby when his Dad was there

Liking the sound of this. We need cover for DM should Lavia get injured and we've an eye for decent scandinavians (bar Forren). The last one we were looking at Rasmus Hojlund ended up joining Atalanta and is doing very well in Serie A

I dont know why we're arguing about Wood. Its highly unlikely Newcastle will let him leave this window.
-
Fair enough. But have we not had a longer term interest in Jackson (going back to the summer), and then linked this window at the same time as Moffi, Beto etc. It could all be for the same position as you say but I wouldnt read too much into NJs comments as I do recall him saying we didnt expect to be too busy this window, which doesnt seem to be the case. Perhaps the comments above have been purposely fed to the media to downplay our interest in a number 9, who knows

SWF transfer response Linked to player Quick trip to wikipedia to see his stats (goals per game if hes an attacker) Quick watch of a 3 minute video on youtube "He's not what we need, what are the club doing?!?" Honestly, I despair at times on here. Why dont we trust the analysis and scouting the club have done as its been largely very good in the last few windows. It looks like he plays more AM than striker so we're probably after an out and out striker also. Hes also been playing regularly for Villareal which is more than a step up from us. With a front six of Lavia, JWP, Alcaraz, Orsic, Jackson and a new striker (hopefully) - that is much better than what we started the season with
-
If hes not willing to extend by this summer then move him on and get as much as we can. His level has dropped and ABK and DCC now provide better options. Our recruitment will identify a better option (who plays CB for City u23 😂)

Im hoping these championship links are a distraction for who we're really after. We need a top tier striker who is capable of chipping in with 7/8 goals during the run in this season. While I appreciate NJs comment about the Championship previously that its the fifth? best league, as we've seen first hand with AA it doesnt really matter how many you score as the PL is a different beast. AA was much more prolific than Estupinan or Semenyo. Perhaps I'm wrong but I have my reservations and it feels like we're opting for the cheaper options when our safety is the most at risk as it has been in 5 years

Not only was he just off the plane, barely had any training with his new team and thrown into the middle of a tough game in tough conditions.....his last competitive game was the cup final on 6 November. Im surprised Jones threw him on, but glad he did as the kid will learn alot from it. Honestly, I'll give my views on him this time next year. Hes 20, moved to a new country mid-season, will take time to get up to speed with Jones' tactics/shape and understand his team mates. Crucially, it will take him a while to get used to the pace/demands of the PL which will be different to the Argentinian league. I did say when we signed him that we were taking risk, not because of his ability (he looks a great talent), but that we would need to be patient with him in a season where we cant afford to be patient. Lets hope he gets to prove himself in the PL next season, as opposed to the Championship

Thats even more impressive than Mara's finish. Pay the damn money saints
-
If we dont sign a striker, we will be relegated. Theres not enough goals in Adams and Mara, and JWP cant perform miracles every week. SR need to put the money up, likely 25m plus which is the going rate in January unfortunately

Can always rely on Kaiser to return and start a new angry thread. Hes been awfully quiet the last week or so

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2023/01/03/southampton-target-argentinian-talent-carlos-charly-alcaraz/ Its in there. Apparently a primary target for us. Plays for Udinese
-
Agree, but Borges is viewed by City in that same bracket as Foden, Palmer, Lewis etc. He will be City first team in 12/18 months so I cant see them entertaining a sale and buy back option. Maybe a loan to get him some experience but thats it. The Secret Scout is probably one of the most informed about PL youth level players and he raves about Borges
-
No chance City let Borges go, hes set for a big career. Theres also going to come a point when City stop dealing with us 😂
-
Ideally we get to the stage where we can rely on Lavia playing the holding role alone which would allow JWP and Alcaraz more freedom and we can play both

Fuck sake Doswell, let it go son

Sure people were screaming at HT why we didnt have both our new signings straight in from the start 🤦🏽♂️. You'd think it was sunday league with the expectations that players can just jump straight into a team without getting up to speed with patterns/shape/movement etc. Especially a kid just off the plane
-
Well....what smart ass comments do you have to make?
-
DCC was immense. If we can get ABK back in there we could have a settled back four. Salisu has been very clumsy at times and lucky not to have been punished

Never change a winning side.... Shut the fuck up. Nates from a mining village dont you know COYS
-
See what happens when hes played in a more advanced role
-
He hasnt really. Thats a decent team and we also exerted alot during the week so changes were very likely
