This rumour has been denied on multiple occasions now. Good news all the same. Also 'confident' of adding another attacker
-
He was always likely to go to Leipzig. That Red Bull route is well established, and tbh much better for his career progression. Going to Man Utd at his age and at this stage would have been a disaster
-
If Adams want to leave or we're considering dealing him, we need to get a replacement or two in before that happens. If that means keeping the interested clubs waiting until deadline day then so be it. If we let him leave now then clubs will know that we're in desperate need of a striker and will just hard ball us with ridiculous asking prices. Would rather Adams stayed. I still think he is good asset with his goals/hold up play and on his day he can be excellent. That being said if by the end of the window we've replaced him/Broja with the likes of Kaladjzic and Delap, then I've no issue with selling him for 15-20m

To be fair Bednarek's best performances have probably been in a Poland shirt when hes had the experienced Kamil Glik beside him. Although he doesnt have much competition as Poland arent exactly flush for CBs. You've also failed to mention that Lyanco was a Brazil u23 international and voted the 2nd best player in the 2019 Toulon tournament (after Douglas Luiz) which Brazil won. Personally I'd put them on equal footing. Good squad players to step in occasionally but neither should be starters if we want to improve defensively

I want it to work out for Ralph, but if we dont have at least 7 points after the Brentford game in early September (7th game), then he has to go. Act early and get a replacement in sharpish. Its been well documented that we have an ever-developing shortlist of suitable managerial candidates, so it shouldnt take long. I fear that we'll stutter along with the occasional glimmer of hope, followed by the odd shocker, but Ralph will remain. Then while still in the relegation picture come March, we'll go on our annual winless run to finish the season. Its only the first game of the season and yes I expected Spurs to beat us comfortably, but it was just typical Saints under Ralph. Go in front, play some decent stuff and then capitulate to hand them the easy win. Ralph can do nothing about Salisu's brain fart, but he sure as hell can do something about team selection. I appreciate that players can play their way into contention during pre-season but Valery as a CB option and Armstrong up top by himself was just mind boggling. Neither to me set the world on fire in pre-season games and just look at the problems Che caused Spurs last season. If either starts against Leeds then Ralph has just lost the plot. Djenepo is another who needs to be dropped if Perraud is deemed ready. Also to go with two defensive mids in front of a back 5 was painfully negative. I honestly wouldnt put it past Ralph sticking with the same for Leeds.

They still have to be good players obviously. Most people could see that Theo Walcott was a spent force in his last two seasons at Everton. Not our recruitment team though
-
Exactly this. Although if the team starts to succeed then we'll lose the best players anyways. The biggest flaw of our recruitment ('investment') strategy imo is the clear refusal to target players who are deemed too old or have no resale value. We're restricting ourselves in the transfer market, missing out on valuable experience which can only help our young squad and potentially missing out on players on a free or cut price

Yeah there was the Ramadan excuse towards the end of last season. Yes it obviously affected his energy levels, but hes been making stupid mistakes or having lapses of concentration for a while now. No excuses today and that og was nothing short of pathetic. A player who cant even use his right foot. Dont know how we manage it but we almost always look defensively worse when we go with 5 at the back. Even had two defensively minded midfielders in front of the 5 and still shipped 4 goals. Just go back to 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-3-1 please. We're likely going to concede most games, but better to give ourselves a chance with more attacking options on the pitch. The club needs to seriously look at bringing in another CB (hopefully more experienced). Obviously that will depend on moving Bednarek and another CB on, and whos going to be interested in him after todays effort
-
A team consisting of Valery, Bednarek, Djenepo and Adam Armstrong....cant really expect anything other than a defeat. Theres 4 players who arent good enough at this level, nearly half our team
-
Saliba looked excellent tonight, still only 21. Think we were interested in him when he was at St Etienne and then enquired about a loan last season
-
We do enjoy a signing from Ligue 1
-
Imagine Leicester take McCarthy off our hands after Bertrand and Vestergaard last year 😂😂
-
Jeez. Goes to show what one season in the Championship on loan can do to a pricetag. £20-25m is alot for a player that never played a game at Chelsea
-
People on here expect us to have/sign multiple strikers capable of 15+ goals in a PL season. Firstly, those numbers are very difficult in the PL, secondly players of that calibre are £30m plus and in huge demand. Yes he shouldnt be our no1 striking option but Im very happy with Che as 2nd/3rd choice striking option who can chip in with 7-10 goals a season. His hold up play is an asset to us also
-
Newcastle are seemingly one, but whos the other? Doubt if those clubs are interested that he would choose us (thats if we're actually interested)
-
Can we not have a 'top 10' striker and Che? He has more than proven his worth since signing and although hes unlikely to hit 15+ goals in a season, he will chip in with 7-10 a season and brings important hold up play to our team
-
Positives Kane usually has a slow start to the season. No Richarlison who usually scores against us. First games of the season are often cagey affairs which could work in our favour. If we're still in it by the hour mark then the crowd will get restless as they'll be expecting a win. Negatives We're likely starting with 5 at the back and it will be a 5 with us getting bodies behind the ball and looking to counter. Will have to endure alot of pressure and need to ride our luck. Just dont see many goals in us atm. Therefore if we want to get a result we're going to have to shut Spurs out or concede one at most. Our first game record is absolute garbage. Got a feeling about us nicking a 1-1 draw, but head is also saying 3-0 Spurs
-
We desperately need a goalscorer (as does everybody in the PL). Just dont think theres enough goals in Che, AA and Mara. The midfield will chip in with JWP, Aribo and Stu all likely to contribute, but an injury to JWP and we will be struggling. Would still like us to push for Kaladjzic, his height will be another big advantage. A goalscorer needs the supply/creativity around him. Aribo seems to be a good addition and will create space/chances for the strikers, but just think we need a Tadic-esque AM. Somebody that plays between the lines and can pick that killer pass/cross when needed. Would still like another CB, but will only happen if we shift two out. I just dont see much difference between Bednarek, Stephens and Lyanco. All can be very good on their day, but also very liable to concentration lapses or silly mistakes which get us punished.

Seen a few players wearing a jacket like this after the game on Wednesday which looked decent
-
Always enjoyed them myself, particularly the on field and tunnel reactions after a win. You didnt see too many when we lost, obviously just deleted the footage 😂

League - City Top 4 - Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs Relegated - Bournemouth, Fulham, Leeds Saints - 13th

Hes certainly better at CB in a three than he is at RB. More cover in a three if he makes a mistake, which he continues to do. Good to see him playing better but hes not the solution and a move would be best for his own career.
-
A few posters on here would look good in a back three
-
And what is when we're attacking? Actually it doesnt matter, that very rarely happens
