Someone mentioned similarities to Smith-Rowe and now I can't unsee it. He is a player who has proven himself to have incredible end product this season - he just strikes the ball so cleanly. That is something very hard to teach. This kid looks to share that.

More moneyballache than moneyball. Don't think I'll be fucking bothering with a ST next season.
-
Two match ban for 10 yellows. Ideally he makes it through until Leeds and then picks up the booking, IMO.
-
I've never seen someone as petrified of the ball coming into the box as Bednarek. Lyanco probably isn't top half quality but at least he's willing to chuck himself at the ball, has shown a bit of defensive nous, and most importantly for me - he knows when to fucking hoof it one.

I'd snap your arm off for a 1-1 draw, no injuries and no more suspensions

Bite Chelsea's hand off for £40m while we still can. They won't care if it's over three or four years, it's all about the bottom line and FFP wiggle room for them. He'll easily go for double that in a few years anyway.

This does read like Dragan has just signed up for an account, but it does echo a lot of what I've read online across multiple platforms and heard from friends in the Balkans. Nice to have a conscionable character at the helm - unlike a certain PL club I can name.

Two juicy morsels: -------------------------------------------------------- "It’s understood that Southampton hasn’t got the option to pay it back until June and that conversations will take place with Sport Republic about when it gets settled. No decision has been made at this stage, but The Athletic can reveal that there is an intention to pay down part of this loan as soon as is possible." -------------------------------------------------------- While he wouldn’t reveal the figure, Semmens explained the club has received an injection of cash in light of the takeover. This doesn’t mean they will be competing to sign Kylian Mbappe in the summer, but it’s believed a commitment has been made to provide money for the next two years from a capital expenditure point of view.

Oh fucking hell, getting passed around by vampires - excellent
-
I think Che is class. Can hold it up, not a bad finisher and has got an exceptional ability to pick out a pass. The best thing about him is that he's not quite good enough to get that move to the next 'level' (ie Danny Ings). Why not get right behind him? Best striker at the club by far.
-
Walcott - deary me, how's he even starting after his contributions to date? Ralph totally inept at timing the substitutions yet again - useless
-
Macca Tino - Bedders - Salisu - Perraud Redmond - Armstrong - Romeu - Tella Broja - Armstrong
-
I've just got this horrible feeling that Edouard is going to score loads of goals for Palace

Same model of plane went from Athens, Greece to Bournemouth today. (Valery?) Anyone ITK on what sort of plane the club uses? Too good to be a coincidence?
-
Boo!!!!! Edit: Landing at Farnborough airport. No idea what to do with that information but there you go. What a sad man I am.

The aforementioned aircraft is descending off the Isle of Wight...

We best not give that fucking waster a penny. Blokes shite, trading off one performance a good decade ago, after which he thought he had made it big and forgot to put the work in. Now he's paying the price.
-
If it's that much they'll be buying him back at the end of this season!
-
Sam Johnstone, West Brom goalkeeper. We're not linked or anything, just a pipe dream
-
Sell Redmond and get Johnstone and that would be the best transfer window in recent years really

'Someone' doesn't assess each goal, but the metric does assess each shot after it is taken, which isolates this statistic to purely gauge the goalkeeper's shot-stopping ability, not the defence's ability to stop the opportunity in the first place. I personally think getting a keeper like Romero or Sam Johnstone in would give the defence a huge boost since it's painfully obvious that we're not going to spend big past Lyanco. We can't keep getting our good work undone by FF or AM.
-
Lower the number, the shitter our goalkeeper... three times worse than the nearest challenger! Metric is post shot expected goals minus goals conceded per 90 (highlighted column, stats from 2020-21) So it's the difference every game between how likely the goalkeeper is to save it based on the quality of the attackers chance compared with the actual number of goals they concede. In other words 10.3 goals would've been 'prevented' if we had an average goalkeeper in net.

All you can say to that is fair play Ralph, if McCarthy didn't have poppadom hands we might have nicked all 3. Only thing I thought he got wrong was starting Walcott - who looks completely finished as a player at this level, shame. He's gonna be another deadweight for the wage bill next season. Finally the manager looked to have a bit of proactiveness and flexibility. Tino amazing, AA worked his socks off, Adams industrious as ever. Midfield two were a little off in terms of passing accuracy, was like we had two Wanyama's in there. Good job Fred for them kept giving it back to us. Isn't it great to have a bit of squad depth that we can call on - although I think Tella would have been a good addition for the last 15 in place of Armstrong, who had run his race. Need a confidence building win against Newport now. Newcastle a big game next week.
