  1. Feck me, how are Leeds not winning
  2. Leicester and Ipswich can quite easily keep doing what they are doing? No, we will be below Leeds if they pick up points tonight, so no one worth lookingf over our shoulders at.
  3. It is documented (by Karen Brady anyway), that Saints went back to West Ham to get the deal done (for JwP) and lowered the asking price and other demands....He apparently did not want to stay and we needed his wages off the books.

There were cuts in troop numbers, hulls, tanks and airframes in the good years of 1997-2008. Yes, 2 new carriers were ordered, 3 were retired (albeit, much smaller), along with the sea harrier (for example). T45 destroyers - 50% cut in the tendering process. This was against the backdrop of fighting on 2 major fronts. Of course this government have not been friends to the forces, but none have since 1991. I am certain not much will change under the next Labour Government, primarily because the general public do not care enough, as they can't get a freebee out of it.

Again, more posturing....for something that is not going to happen, right?

No need to put any effort in to find direct quotes. Certain there are plenty more to find if I had 5 minutes.

I will wait out for the next installment from European Leaders - who are falling over themselves telling us to prepare for war with Russia (which is just bonkers).

It isn't going to happen IMO. However, Governments across Europe are telling us it is more likely. Of course, I believe they are lying, but who really knows. However, in UK v Russia Peer-to-Peer situation, we will be all but done after a bad weekend.
  10. Rotherham Presser; Ended the window in a stronger place, which is all you can hope for Mason leaves with out best wishes, I thanked him and I hope he plays more than he did here Charlie out of the building for 6 months. It is an amazing opportunity for him at a huge club Aware of interest in Charlie throughout January, we brought Rothwell in early, and Joe Aribo is back Charlie has the chance to make an impression at a great club, but we maintain him as an asset of course, he could do brilliantly and Juventus will want to sign him I was not busy yesterday, I walked the dog and swam in the sea, it was nice We have 3 No.9s. One of which has been playing right wing and is top scorer we now have really brilliant options wide Brooksy was out no.1 target, I watched him against Swansea and worried he played too well and they might not let him go Everyone told us how good a player he is, how good a person he is, Jason previously released him at City, which was great for Brooksy He will be a great signing and a specialist in a position we wanted a specialist in I hope this season has shown everyone that this league is so tough Rotherham have a new manager, they are working really hard for him and they will make it difficult The challenge is for us to be the team we want to be, the players show courage and they have the desire to run for each other It is a big month for us, in every way, and we want to add another cup game in that Edozie in the squad this weekend, Kamaldeen next weekend and hopefully Breezy the week after They are training like beasts right now We needed to keep everyone, even interest in Janny B No one came to see me, not one conversation with a player, about leaving The feeling around the club is great, everyone is proud of what they are doing Some of the players really feel they have such an opportunity to experience premier league football next season Others have the chance to put right what went wrong last season, all are happy here I do not think the window shutting changes anything. We will work as we have been, just removes any lingering doubts with the players on who is here
  11. I did laugh when the initial description of him was just "a man"

    Russia

Defence cuts to capability have been going on since the fall of the Berlin Wall. The SDSR in 1998, then throughout the Blair years brought further drops on the number of people, tanks, aircraft and ships - and that was the boom period!! What makes it even more tragic in a more local context, we spend more than most in NATO!!! the UK, like France, use clever accounting to meet the 2% of GDP spend. Just 2% of the national budget is spent on Defence. It is remarkable we have what we have, but as i said many times before, a peer-to-peer bout between UK and Russia would see us all but done after a bad weekend.

I used to think Soggy was just someone with outdated views, pretty common from a certain generation. I was wrong, he is clearly a deeply unpleasant person.
  14. I hope he does well there. Felt sorry for him in the end. Just a poor fit for all at SFC
  15. Good window. Holgate going is a good move, he was just not good at all. Such a shame about Alcaraz, but he was never really a starter, probably not suited to our current style. no idea about Rothwell, but Brooks seems a brilliant signing on paper.
  16. Yeah, but he listens to James O"brien, so all is right.
  17. 🤣 What a fecking moron...
  18. Added to the fact that Wilder is very unlikeable.
  19. Yes. No chance will Juve, who are under a cloud financially I believe - will be parting with £35m for him. Not unless he is the next great talent over the coming months!
  20. Rotherham are crap. They have lost the 3rd most games this season and sit bottom of the league. Whilst we have just signed the likes of David Brooks, anything other than a win is a terrible result

  22. He wont play much....Italian clubs do this...
  23. it should not be, they are pretty rubbish
  24. I doubt Juve will spend the sort of money quoted on Alcaraz. Shame, but as others have said, he has just hit the levels required to be a top championship player - within our style. i am sure he will have a very good career though. But expect to not be purchased by Juventus for that kind of money.
