  1. Arsenal would never have given him a chance? the only way that would be the case is if he was a poor player for them. One thing Arsenal do is give youngsters a chance.
  2. All fair points. However, when we ran into what was like CL money (Virgil sale), we still sat within the transfer bracket of average players. Granted, Guido was a record signing, but that was relative to our own low costed signings. Spending £20m on a striker was nothing to shout about in this league, at that time. Either way, I would be amazed if Ralph hot-footed to Leicester. Man United is the club with his name on it. Massive club who gives a manager time.
  3. Leicester are the next step up, not sure that is up for debate. Recent champions, seems to be up there pushing for CL on a regular basis and happy to spend £30m+ on players.
  4. I can only believe that when he does move on/up, it will be done respectfully, no matter what time of the season it is.
  5. I do not believe this will be on the only fixture called off. All getting weird.

    Coronavirus

I do not believe I posted (copied from twitter) that vaccinations would not take place on a Sunday?
  7. When Lallana was pictured hugging Klopp when being subbed, did this place take the michael out of him/the situatiuon?

Public Health England refusing to deliver vaccines on Sundays tells you everything you need to know about state-run health service provision. Israel has three competing, state funded, health service providers rolling out their vaccination programme. Once this is over, NHS, PHE and many areas of the civil service need a period of transformation.
  9. The Ref is bound to be dropped from the next round of fixtures. He forgot to implement the 'top 6 rule' with some of those decisions 😆
  10. That was a brilliant (defensive) performance. Forster barely had a save to make. Diallo grew into the game and I think he is going to be a very good player.
  11. We have played well and defended intelligently. I do worry that Liverpool players have worked out how to get around us. Towards the end, we were seeing early diagonals, which quickly creates 2-on-1s against us due to our wide players tucking in. I think we could improve by doing the same thing against liverpool. We should release the ball early, given we have some pace up top

Love to know what supermarket you go to, everyone I have been in has been a masked free-for-all Lets say all supermarket experiences are nice and structured like you mention and everyone remains at least 2m apart (yeah, right). Kids are at virtually no risk. The rest of the population are at minimal risk, which can be mitigated if practices are carried out like you see in the supermarkets you mention. Of course, we could just close supermarkets and move the lot to online. Cut the risk even further?

If schools shut, why not supermarkets also? If supermarkets, why not anywhere else a key worker is employed?

Which would be barking mad. Kids carry the very lowest risk of this thin (ie, virtually none). The rest of the population carry a very minimal risk. What will closing schools achieve? Slow down the spread? that ship has sailed. Bundles of other key workers have remained at work, why shouldn't teachers, given the importance of kids education?
  16. Not in a million years this season, totally agree. Disregard our form, look at the state Sheff Utd and WBA. Throw in Burnley, Fulham (who I think both will just do it) and Brighton (who are soft as shit). We are safe
  17. Reading Wadesmith's comment again. The only person on this thread coming across as racist is him/her/they/them! Basically, a 'foreigner' coming over here and not immediately learning our language/current culture war, should be made to shut up and be "banned" from carrying out their employment. Almost like BNP by stealth.
  18. Oh you are one of "those", aren't you
  19. Media reports no delays for trucks at Dover. Quite unlike the chaos of last month when we were in the single market. Time for the media to cheer up about the majority democratic decision of a great independent nation.
  20. Everyone prepared for Armageddon in 15 mins time?
  21. I thought we were incredibly poor / ponderous. Lots of slow build up and play in front of their back 6. No doubt, WH defended very well, but we need to be quicker to beat that, otherwise we wont win many more games this season. I believe only a handful of times, we got 'behind' them and had their defenders facing the wrong way. Many times, we got the ball wide and then just worked it back inside (slowly), to the other side of the pitch. I thought Armstrong added a touch of directness with his passing. Walcott looked the most dangerous for us, but even he was not great in an attacking sense. I hope the bulk of the 1st team are rested against Shrewsbury. Adams, JwP, Bertrand at the very least just need a break. I found Djenepo incredibly frustrating again. So much skill but just added nothing. I thought Romeu and KwP were decent for us though.
  22. Rachel Reeves. Wine Gums. Spiced Rum. Phil and Kirsty, Love it or List it.

How is remote delivery holding up? Is it via Zoom? Teams? Must be hard(er) given the 'sage on the stage' element of being a teacher/instructor - in the room - is taken away.

    Coronavirus

When you say out of control.. what is the consequence? Sure, cases are up compared to April, but we are testing around 600k a day now; more tests, more results.. Hospital appointments are up across the board. Isn't that the case this time of year, regardless? In the winter of 2018 alone, around 50-60k excess deaths from flu were (apparently) recorded in England and Wales. Did we shut everything down then? Why now? I notice that people are having a pop at the 'brits abroad' above. Surely from a purely authoritative PoV, breaking the rules is bad / selfish. But should the young'uns get Covid - so what? A bit of natural herd immunity is great, right? I know people are suffering but the numbers point that under 60 years of age (no health conditions), this is not dangerous, let along when you get to the U40s, U25s etc. Just 377 people in the UK that are U60 have sadly perished when tested positive with covid in the previous 28 days (not necessarily because of Covid). The Govt have made huge mistakes but I dread to think what party/PM/Govt that would not. The virus is spreading, despite face-masks, lockdowns, track and trace (in Germany for example). And the narrative is that this is the plague. However, more articles by leading journo's are appearing where they are starting to question whether all of this is worth the cost! I hope testing/vaccinations are ramped up and all public sector workers play a part. If some squaddie with 5 mins training can administer a covid test, it cannot be beyond the wit of more educated/capable civil servants/public/even private sector workers adding to the cause, rather than just say "not my job". As you say, I do not envy anyone having to weigh up protecting people V wilful destruction of the economy, which will also kill people. *Puts crash helmet on and prepared to be battered by lockdown fanatics*.
