If Russia fail, without NATO needing to put someone in harms way, do you think there will be a thirst from governments/people around Europe to massively increase defence spending?

I think Brentford are in serious danger of going down! Noticed Ivan Toney on the bench - no idea if he has been injured. They can't defend/score goals, and the sending off yesterday was from a pretty nasty challenge. Their fixtures are a mixed bag - Norwich & Burnley in their next 2, with Leeds at home last game of the season (with Everton away just before that)

What we get in the news, the Guardian, Mail, RT, and more importantly in this conflict - Twitter/social media, is part of the action taking place. No idea what is false, staged or true.

I can see a couple of changes. Perraud, maybe Stephens, maybe Redmond to start

To reverse the vast cuts to defence (alongside paying for COVID) it will take many many years and 10s of £billions of permanent increased spending in that area. This will mean welfare, education and/or even health absorbing cuts in spending (imagine selling that at the next election with national debt around 100%)! Can you recall a time in recent history where increased defence spending has been a vote winner?
